For one, when your guys (not my hitch installer) try to upsell me on stuff I don't need, have the courtesy to allow me to complete my sentences. The guy who installed my hitch was courteous, and from what I can tell, he did a great job. I checked out the work when I got home and it was spot on. As a former hitch pro myself, I am very appreciative to the quality of work.

jermaine cI reserved a cargo van online but they wouldn't accept my out of state license when I arrived. Said it was manager's policy because the vans get stolen. They instead rented me a 10ft box truck that I felt very uncomfortable driving and didn't quite fit my situation. Called another location to see if an in state license is required and it isn't. The other location would have gladly rented me a cargo van. I should have just went to another location.

Shannon HI normally use Penske and Budget for my moving needs, but this time I leased a 26" truck from U-Haul on 3/30, at 412 N. Central Expwy, Richardson location. It was the WORST truck I've ever driven!!! I tried calling and was left on hold the first time 20 minutes and second time 15 minutes, (to try and return it), but movers came so I kept the truck! U-Haul should be ashamed of themselves for putting money ahead of customer safety! First of all, it sounded like a dump truck, hard to turn, wouldn't pick up speed, and the worst ride in the world! Anyone familiar with Dallas knows Interstate 75, now imagine driving from Richardson to downtown Dallas on 75, with NO speed while everyone is flying by you and blowing. Upon returning the truck I exited Belt Line and went to gas it up. I had to come back under 75 and heard what sounded like a canon and lost total speed and people are looking at me while I'm trying to drive to drop off this truck! When checking the truck in, I'm ranting at the employee and explaining the situation. I tell him to start it up and the first thing out of his mouth is, "There's something wrong with this truck!" Well, he pops the hood and as I left he was still under the hood. U-Haul should have paid me for driving that death trap and endangering the lives of my family as well as myself!!!! I deserve a partial refund and that truck needs to be repaired, parted out and CRUSHED! I expect more from a longtime truck rental company such as U-Haul, whose reputation lead the industry for years! I'm now 66 and remember my dad moving my grandmother from Dallas to Tennessee in 1970! Do better or stop U-Haul!

MAYA L | Online Move InEmployees need training in customer service. They asked me to download an app and do all check-ins on the app using my phone. I explained I can't put the app on my phone and asked for a manual way to complete the pre-rent condition sheet for the vehicle. The employee was super rude to me. She rolled her eyes, pretended not to hear me when I spoke, she walked slowly, and exhibited such odd behavior for someone in charge of helping customers. Then, upon starting the vehicle, I saw that the fuel was only 1/3 full but they had marked my sheet as 2/3 full. When I went back in to have them change this, they again behaved as if I was putting them out. It was the weirdest customer service I've ever received. LOL-- The vehicle was clean and great. Customer service was bizarre. Merci!
Elka CI previously rented here in Dec. 2022. Great experience. Same again this time. Courteous, knowledgeable, professional agents. Same agent assisted me during rental & return. She answered all my questions. Also received help backing up truck.

Makiyah MI made a reservation for the truck a day before, so as not to waste time, as I had a moving to make with an appointment with people who would help me. I go to the place where I was supposed to get the truck (metroplex self storage #7), and they simply didn't leave the key. the office was closed at THREE o'clock in the afternoon (early). I spent an hour waiting and looking for the key like an idiot on the sun (got sunburnt). I tried talking on chat and it didn't work, the app it's terrible, and when I finally managed to talk to a man an hour had already passed, I had to drive to another place and take other truck. Over the phone, this guy said he would reimburse me the amount, but when I got there I had to pay anyway, meaning I didn't receive any refund for the inconvenience. It was really really stressful.

Karla CI will not be returning to this location or referring to a friend. I was given keys to a truck that was nowhere on the lot. I searched for it with hired help, told they could not offer me another truck, then about 15 minutes later, they gave me one, without the dolly I requested. I called the same day to cancel my storage unit. The woman that answered told me not to worry, I wouldn't be charged. A month later I received an email to pay my storage bill. I called the 800 number to cancel and was assured it was done on their end and should be completed locally. Just received a late notice from local location. Had to call again. I was placed on hold a couple of times while the lady that Shana tried to figure it out. She said there was a file about me. Finally, she told me everything was taken care of. I asked for some sort of confirmation to be emailed to me. There was nothing to send to me. I'm just hoping I don't have to make another call next month.

On the day I came in, it was 10 min to 7 (right when they were closing), and they still quickly got a truck set up for me. Friendly, courteous, and quick staff. *They call to check 2 references of people you e The truck rental was as expected, and I'm glad I had the extra ins just in case because driving a 26 ft truck is no joke! I almost got stuck in a tight space. Def will rent something smaller next time! There were a couple glitches along the way. When the truck was returned I was charged an extra day and a gas charge. When I called my concerns were quickly and efficiently handled, no hassle. I received excellent customer service at all points, and there were actually a couple times I had to speak w them (like switching out the truck for another 1 day into it) so I had a few interactions. Just nice folks there. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience and would def recommend this location to others. Thanks to Roman, Emily, Miranda, and the mgr. Arisha, and a couple other people that were there and helpful. You guys made an otherwise stressful situation and move less stressful and your kindness and efficiency in taking care of my needs as a customer are appreciated.

He explained things in a condescending way like I didn't know what I was doing. It seemed I was treated this way because I'm a young women and he didn't think I could drive a truck. This was a very bad experience I would not use this location again and would not recommend anyone use this location. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced

It was really gross, also the steering wheel was sticky because of how worn it was and felt disgusting while driving. :( The van itself felt like the walls were going to crumble and the whole truck was going to spontaneously combust on the highway. I was white knuckling it my whole drive. Overall the condition of the truck was downright yuck. I was super disappointed because they last time I rented a U-Haul, it was a van and was in excellent shape, so I expected the same this time. I felt like I needed to sanitize myself, my clothes, my phone and purse when I got home. Boo.

This was because the "doors weren't working" even though we got in by checking in at the gate and doors opened for us with no issues. Here is how this could have been a better experience: 1) add a note on your website under the store if there are issues. What if I had movers with me? 2) Identify the training gaps and train your employees. You should add how to phrase what you say to customers in your training curriculum. What matters is how you say it not what you say. Your other south austin location is even WORSE.

On site personnel should have moved my goods to a unit that was out of harms way but that didn't happen. While I was reimbursed partially for the damaged goods, more could have been done. I will not be using UHAUL in the future and would not recommend them to any friends or family.

I went over on gas, miles, and time because they were incapable of providing a storage unit. I had to take time off work to unload my truck 20 miles north the following week.

The employees were unorganized and unprofessional. They sent me to 3 other locations through out the Dallas metro that were all closed on sundays. They refused to accept responsibility for causing me to go over on gas, miles, and truck rental time. I was forced to take time off work on monday to move into a storage unit that was far from the original location. Very disappointed with the Uhaul Richardson staff for wasting my time and their poor attitudes. I expect more from you.

After waiting 15-20 minutes, I finally went and found someone else who did cut the lock off and get me in. On another note, why in the WORLD would you have a split unit storage system where the larger units are up a staircase?!?! It stands to reason that anyone using the larger units probably has furniture and now we have to carry that furniture up some stairs. This is about the dumbest thing in storage facilities I've ever encountered. We won't be using this facility again for that reason alone.

Because i did the online move in, the email said my storage room was ready to access and all i had to do was enter the building which is not the case. as soon as i opened my storage room, the alarm went off because i had no card to swipe. Instructions were unclear and everything was confusing. I will not be using UHaul storage ever again.

We arrived a few minutes after 5pm on a Friday and left close to 8.pm The only thing we needed to do was return our truck, get a storage unit, and move the things out of our truck into our unit. If needing U-haul services and products in the future, this will not be the location we seek said services and products. My name isn't even spelled correctly for this account even though my wife and I were asked our names and other sensitive information several times while trying to secure a storage room.
