You can improve Customer service and willingness to work with the customer to get what they need! I have a '99 f150 and wanted to rent a car hauler trailer. the computer said that it wasnt recommended so they wouldnt rent it to me. and was told some crazy thing that its reported to the TXdot ans they coulldnt over ride the software. Although I had rented one using the same truck a year earlier. The truck has a frame mount which Uhaul sold me and installed that increases the towing capacity. I had to rent a Car dolly. Unfortunately the car being hauled didnt fit the dolly (2015 VW GTI Stock height). The dolly strap rings and wheel stop were too high and would ruin the lower facia. I returned it immediately (less than 30 minutes) I was then challenged about the return and the fitment of the car. We discussed the need for the Car hauler trailer again, The manager checked the software and wouldnt rent it to me. I also have a 2002 F150 (same size/ weight truck) unfortunately the 2002 wasnt available. But regardless I asked them to check to see if it was recommended, the software said it was. This made absolutely no sense! I ended up spending more money and renting a Uhaul truck to pull the Uhaul trailer. When we were finished with the truck we filled the gas and returned it 5 minutes late (7:05pm) the office was open but they wouldnt check me in stating that I had to use my phone app to do so. Thank goodness I had my phone (Not everyone carries a phone!) Ive used Uhaul for many years directly of with some one that has. This was the first time I had received such terrible service and lack of desire to help. I mostlikely will not use this store any longer.edward B.

The 5 by 8 trailer was not the best looking on the lot, was definitely USED! BUT!!! It handled GREAT, all the lights worked and tires were great!! Ut went 2200 miles in 100 degree weather, pouring rain, over 4 days with No Issues!!! AWESOME!, They saved the trip by GIVING US A PROPER BALL AND HITCH. I went in to get my key, Ron was assisting me and the GM comes out of nowhere asking how they can help meanwhile I was being assisted already and since I didn't respond to her she proceeds to tell me I'm not even suppose to be there, I don't recall being banned or having any run in with cops at this location if I'm banned for whatever reason, an explanation would be needed but Ron was fantastic other than that I wouldn't be renting anymore from uhaul due to the GM being so unprofessional. Service was terrible. I reserved a 4x8 trailer from a different location. U-Haul called and said a trailer was not available at that location. They moved my reservation to a new location. No problem. When I showed up, they did not have that size trailer. Luckily, they did have a 5x8 trailer. Did I get a discount since that is what I did not reserve? Nope. Had to pay the full price for the larger trailer which I did not reserve. I drove my car to the trailer lot, as instructed, to get the trailer. No one showed up. I had to go back into the office to get someone to come out. Same problem when I returned the trailer. I went back to the trailer lot, as instructed. When no one showed up, I had to go back into the office to get someone to unhook the trailer. Not a fan of this location.Bryan C.

I had an absolutely horrid experience with uhaul. My times and locations were changed and then I was nearly given a pickup truck instead of a 10ft van. I was told by the plano uhaul that their normal procedure is to change the time and location day of even though I had a contract from weeks earlier. I had made an online pickup at the U Haul site for 12:00 pm. I arrived at 11:54 the store was empty except for the clerk? The front desk person looked at me when I walked in and without a word he got up and left out the back door! I stood in line for at least 14 minutes before a truck cleaner came to help. That person was professional and some what helpful! However I had to look and hunt my own packing quilts as well as load them!Edward H.

The previous person who rented the truck must have opened a beverage and it shot everywhere. The drivers wheel was sticky and there were spill marks all over the passenger side front and ceiling. The people were very nice at the facility. My only comment would be on the stickiness inside the vehicle. Otherwise it was a good experience.kathy E.

Lazy workers that have no sense of urgency! Gave me a van that had a lock on the back door. So I drove it to my home only to have to drive back to get the lock off. After 20 minutes the back of the truck was still locked! When I complained how unacceptable the refused to help me and that I would have to wait 3 hours for the manager to show up. It was only after I went to another location that they were able to get the combo code, in less than 5 minutes. I will NEVER USE U-Haul AGAIN!!!!!!!Nick V.

The only thing that you can improve is that whenever I got to the location in Garland I was sent to the location in Richardson and that's fine, but in Richardson they didn't even know I was coming. So I had to spend extra money on a bigger truck and more expensive because they wanted to send me to another location in Harry Hines Blvd. I was able to ask if they were any trucks available and there was a 26 available. We needed a 20 but we just didn't wanted to be all over the place to get it.Gerardo B.

The place is a mess - I followed the "Return Equipment" signs to the front parking lot which was overflowing with trucks. I had to park in the street and go inside to find out where to take the trailer - they told me the trailer lot is across the street. So I had to back the trailer down two streets and into a tiny spot in the trailer lot. The guy that unhooked the trailer really doesn't have the skills needed to interact with customers - very rude guy.Jim H.
I was not given any paperwork re: my vehicle at the time I rented the truck. As I was nearing the location later that day to return it, I called the store to see if I could find out if the fuel level had been marked, so that I could put in the correct amount. The young lady who answered the phone could not find my records, even with my name, my phone number, and the truck number, and so she asked me to hold for a manager. When the manager got on the phone, I asked the same question re: the fuel level, and her smart aleck reply was that if I didn't 'reply to the text' before I left the store, they could just charge me for a full tank. I responded that in addition to not receiving any paperwork, I was also not told to reply to any texts. She said, in so many words, that was also my problem, as it was written in the contract. I became a little frustrated at this point, and explained that I was trying to do the right thing by calling in to get the fuel level, and that I didn't appreciate the tone of voice, nor the veiled threat of being charged for a full tank. She said if you want to know the gas level, a receipt was emailed to you, 'you should just go check that'. I thanked her for nothing and ended the call. When I stopped to get fuel, I pulled up the email, and it was clear that the receipt WAS FOR AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TRUCK. The starting mileage on the receipt was approx. 180K miles, while my truck only had 90K miles. I understood this is why they couldn't find my records, they didn't even know which vehicle I had. Unfortunately, rather than helping, the manger doubled down and insisted it was my problem. When I returned the truck a few moments later, I asked the young lady up front for a receipt before I left, as I had zero confidence in their record keeping at this point, and wasn't comfortable leaving without written proof that I was not going to be later charged for fuel, especially given the manager's veiled threat. Yet again, she couldn't find anything to print, and said she'd have to talk to a manager. After waiting a bit, I went to use the restroom, and could hear a man and woman's voice behind the door of an office immediately beside the restroom. After leaving the restroom, and waiting again for a bit, a young man came out, and said he was the acting manager, as the GM had stepped away from the store temporarily. I remarked that's odd, as I just talked to her on the phone a few minutes ago, and heard her voice as well. The asst. manager said if I didn't talk to him in a professional way, that he would force me to leave the store and come back. I then explained the entire series of events, that I not been been given paperwork, nor told to reply to a text, and that the later email receipt was also wrong. He responded that I must be mistaken. I then asked him how he believed I had driven the truck a 'negative' 90K miles that day, and told him to go look himself. When he went outside and looked at the odometer, he finally acknowledged it was different truck. At this point, the GM, Taylor Ruiz, comes out of a side door where she'd been the entire time, and asked what the problem. I told her she knew, I'd try to explain this on the phone before she'd become snarky and ended the call. She then went on to say that I had mentioned nothing about fuel on the call, a statement so willingly false that I knew I had zero chance of being treated professionally at this point. I then asked her the same question, about the email receipt that was 'my responsibility' and how I could've have driven it a negative 90K miles in a few hours. Taylor Ruiz then had the nerve to tell me that after our earlier call, she went back and found my receipt she it couldn't be found earlier, and that SHE REALIZED THEY HAD INCORRECTLY GIVEN ME THE RECEIPT FOR ANOTHER TRUCK. Instead of apologizing though, she went on to say that SHE HAD JUST THEN EMAILED ME THE CORRECT RECEIPT, AND SO NOW I HAVE IT. The arrogance and ignorance of those two statements, from a store's GM no less, are staggering. She finally asked the Asst Mgr if I was correct about the miles and the gas level on the truck I had driven, and he sheepishly admitted that I was. She then told me ok, you won't be charged for any excess fuel. I said that I didn't trust a verbal statement, that I wanted a written receipt to that effect. She then said, 'that's all you had to ask for' ... when that was, in fact, the ONLY reason I had come into the store, and the ONLY thing I had asked for. As I was waiting for her to print the receipt, she mockingly repeated 'Have a great day good sir!' a number of times, like a one child would taunt another. When I said I couldn't believe she acted this way as a GM, she said 'Have a great day good sir, and don't ever come back to my store'. I can't recall ever leaving a review of a business in my life, but if you have this woman as a GM for your company, you have some serious questions to ask yourself. I will also add that I have and do rent from U-haul regularly, and have for years, and have never encountered behavior like this. I primarily use Plano Parkway and have always had great customer service there. One additional note re: these surveys ... if they only are returned to/read by the individual store managers, then very little will improve, as there is no accountability. I am certain this manager would not take any of this seriously given her immature behavior yesterday.J T.

Dropping off was a bit odd. Mike was not very helpful in telling me what needed to be done to close out the contract for using the uhaul. Or when taking the trainer away.Jennifer W.
The prices online were much cheaper than when I got there - it was $32 online but I was charged $57. The prices online for insurance were totally different than in person as well. I think the overcharge may have been the fact that they insisted that I return the trailer to a different location (they said I would get a discount for doing that, but I was actually charged more). Assistant manager told me to go ask for Michael to hook up the trailer. I go and ask the guy, "Are you Michael?" and he says, "Well it's not Michelle!" Then I complained about being overcharged, but they told me I'd have to wait in line to get it credited back and I was in a time crunch, so I had to go. The other location where I returned (Garland - McCree) was a totally different and a good experience. A lady waved me in past two trucks that were sitting there and another guy saw me and ran outside to help me with the trailer without even being asked and thanked me for by business.Marcus H.

I had reservred a dolly (along with the truck) to help with my move, but 8 was told told when i arrived for my reservation that there simply were no dollys avaliable, and that if I really needed one, I would have to buy it from then. Then, they could not find the keys to any of the trucks for me to take. I had to wait an hour while they fumbled around, looking for any keys for a vehicle i could use (there were 3 trucks outside I could see, they just couldn't find the keys for them). In the end, i had to use a truck that had just been returned by another customer, an hour later. Front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful. I paid an extra fee to have the car transport hooked up to my Rental truck. â€œBig Mikeâ€ seemed very put out to perform this task. I give him a pass because it was 100+ degrees. The biggest problem was the equipment. After getting on the road and checking out the gauges and indicators i noticed that the oil was 5 % away from needing an oil change. We still had 700 miles to go. I added a quart of oil and, thankfully, we were ok. We had a blowout of one of the trailer tires halfway through the trip. The third party roadside assistance company that they fix was outstanding, however, i noticed the companion tire on the trailer looked rather low. They checked the pressure and the remaining 3 trailer tires were at least 10lbs under-inflated. Please improve the maintenance procedures/standards of your equipment.andy S.

We have picked up from here before & it was fine. However the drop off this trip was a nightmare. We were supposed to be able to drop off at any location near Plano. We had someone call us and ask if we would mind dropping in Richardson which was about 20 minutes out of our way. We said if it wasn't too late that we would be OK doing that. However we wanted to reserve the right to drop in Plano in case it was very late. Turns out the person locked us in Richardson and then at 11 o'clock at night we had to waste 40 minutes driving to Richardson and driving driving back because it wouldn't let me turn it in any other place. We spent about an hour on the phone with various calls trying to get this changed and trying to get this updated with no luck. Also the self check in process did not work properly & that wasted another 20m. at midnight we finally got our a hotel when it should've been at 10:30. Hands down- WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. We reached out to customer service multiple times & no one could help or seemed to care. The fact that we were having trouble & the only response we got was we needed to call another phone number after already being on hold for 20+ minutes. Your process are broken & customer service lacking. We are gearing up for a big move and we are rethinking our future rentals based on this experience.Michael K.

Severely understaffed, truck I was supposed to take was blocked into the parking lot. Original truck did not have the ordered dolly. It took over an hour and a half to get a different truck not blocked in and equipment.Additionally, the site did not work when reporting gas tank and milage. Met with complete indifference when I spoke with the guy at the counter. Seemed put off to even have to deal with me, did not show that we had reserved a furniture dolly, and once again, gave me attitude suggesting that they may or may not be able to get me one. Then the same guy walks outside to attach the trailer to the truck, mumbling orders at me regarding turn signals, brakes, etc. Upon my return, the same guy was in the parking lot, and when I mentioned that I was there to return a trailer, he said "It's gonna be a while", and then very slowly walked around hooking up trailers to the 2 vehicles ahead of me. He also gave them attitude as well. Finally, when he got to me, it took 2 seconds to simply detach the trailer and let me drive away. My storage unit suffered not one but two leaks due to an air conditioning unit that leaked on my stored goods. On site personnel should have moved my goods to a unit that was out of harms way but that didn't happen. While I was reimbursed partially for the damaged goods, more could have been done. The staff is completely incompetent. No idea which units have been rented. I arrived with a 15 foot truck and a storage reservation. They did not have a storage unit for me and proceeded to send me to 4 other locations that were all closed on sundays. I went over on gas, miles, and time because they were incapable of providing a storage unit. I arrived with the 15 foot truck to unload into my reserved storage unit on sunday afternoon to find out my unit had been rented to another customer. The employees were unorganized and unprofessional. They sent me to 3 other locations through out the Dallas metro that were all closed on sundays. They refused to accept responsibility for causing me to go over on gas, miles, and truck rental time. I was forced to take time off work on monday to move into a storage unit that was far from the original location. The staff at the Richardson location was more than awesome in helping me find the right size storage unit and made everything simple and seamless to get moved in. The facility is extremely clean and even smells good. The climate controlled units were are kept at a comfortable temperature which was once on a hot day. Je ne taris pas d'éloges à propos d'eux. The first girl to come help said she needed to cut the lock off my unit. She walked away to get the tools to cut the lock and she never came back! After waiting 15-20 minutes, I finally went and found someone else who did cut the lock off and get me in. On another note, why in the WORLD would you have a split unit storage system where the larger units are up a staircase?!?! It stands to reason that anyone using the larger units probably has furniture and now we have to carry that furniture up some stairs. This is about the dumbest thing in storage facilities I've ever encountered. We won't be using this facility again for that reason alone.Sheri W. | Premières impressions
There was no instructions on the email that said i had to receive some sort of card to move in. Because i did the online move in, the email said my storage room was ready to access and all i had to do was enter the building which is not the case. as soon as i opened my storage room, the alarm went off because i had no card to swipe. My belongings were infested with roaches and now i have to deal with roaches at my new residence the staff was friendly and helpful so i cant say anything bad about them but there is clearly a bug problem that needs be addressed perhaps spray more or leave baits to draw them away from the units.. the company could also look into making the units impenetrable to insectsGerald B. | Expérience générale

We specifically requested 24 hour access as we needed to put in all of our stuff past office hours. When we got to the facility, the storage room which we paid for was locked and we will we're given no keys, we had already loaded our U-Haul van with our furniture. Extremely slow. Waited in line to be served for over 20 minutes. Storage space 10x8 hall so narrow and too close to other units couldn't get furniture in. Had to cancel the order space.Sheila B. | Premières impressions
We were asked to repeat sensitive information no less than 3 times. We didn't get the impression that our business and especially our time mattered. Employees weren't urgent and lacked the knowledge needed to serve us the way we needed to be served. There were about 4 people who needed to service us. We arrived a few minutes after 5pm on a Friday and left close to 8.pm The only thing we needed to do was return our truck, get a storage unit, and move the things out of our truck into our unit. If needing U-haul services and products in the future, this will not be the location we seek said services and products. My name isn't even spelled correctly for this account even though my wife and I were asked our names and other sensitive information several times while trying to secure a storage room.ron M. | Premières impressions
