Someone needs to coach your employees about sexual harassment laws in America. There was a man who - based on his accent - appeared to be from an African Region and he assists with getting the cars. I do not want him to loose his job - but he needs to know he cannot be following female customers outside to their personal cars or in the lot and immediately asking â€œare you inlove ? Are you celebrated? Are you taken, if not let me knowâ€ yes he literally came right out and said that - nothing else. It is aggressive and inappropriate - esp., coming from a complete stranger. He needs to be taught and coached and trained on what being professional with the customers means. I did not think he meant harm... but one never knows. And as a female coming back to an empty lot at night to return the vehicle ... it is intimidating - thinking â€œwhat if that man is lurking around - he was very pushy and aggressive about his interest.â€ So please I don't want to see him loose his job over it- but management really needs to sit him down and have a serious and educational talk with him so he understands that is not OK to do that to customers. It is disrespectful .... women coming in alone to rent a truck does not translate into low hanging fruit for him to go after. It is uncomfortable and not appreciated. Please train him properly. The location was okay, but they weren't too helpful regarding the process. When I hit the link uhaul.com/share, it kept giving me an error. They didn't seem too sure how to handle that issue. In the end it worked out but I just didn't feel too confident in the service.Mathew V.

Best assistance ever thanks to a gentleman that works there by the name of Connor. I rented a one way 5x8 trailer and decided to bring it back to Ox Road at the last minute to save money. I was informed that I could return it instead of the one way after calling the reservation number and the wonderful lady even made a note in the system. I reached out to U-Haul and Connor answered and confirmed my conversation via the note that the lady wrote. Very important that you reach out to the reservation help desk and also have them make a note so that it exists as evidence of such a discussion being held. Anyway, because I did a self check in with photo drop off, the system closed out the order and I got fully charged for a one way drop which is MUCH more expensive. My thoughts were, goodness sakes and good luck getting the overpayment back. No worries as Connor was on top of things. I received the difference in price paid. This goes on my short list of best experiences with a business. Shout to the the total professionalism and sense of urgency that Connor exemplifies and the staff at U-Haul Ox Road, Sterling, Virginia.Mario M.

Connor is very professional. I have rented two vans this month for college moves. I unfortunately was sent off with a Van that had a slow leak in the front tire, even after pointing out that the warning light was on to an employee (not Connor). I had to fill the tire with air, drive back on almost a flat, then switch out the van. All under a big time crunch. Could have been better.susan H.

I was charged 10 $collision damage waiver despite declining it TWICE because the online check-out function did not work TWICE. And I checked the "I do not agree with these charges" box and still was charged the entire amount and no one from Uhaul contacted me.BRADLEYDOUGLAS S.
The equipment provided to me was in direct violation of national motor vehicle safety standards. Prior to taking possession the required body damage inspection was completed through the provided UHAUL web application. During the use process, I observed 3 of the 4 vehicle tires were significantly wore and not eligible for operation on the roadway. Also, the right rear brake light was non operational and the message of "Oil Change Required" was displayed on the vehicles instrument monitor. During the return process, I informed the site General Manager of the aforementioned safety concerns. As I continued to express my concerns of a vehicle gross negligent for roadway use, he stated; "Nothing happened to you; you are ok, what do you want me to do". Obviously surprised by his reaction, I directed the question back to him as a leadership representative of UHAUL. I was asked by the General Manager if I conducted the vehicle inspection. I replied yes and was further asked if I inspected the tires and break lights at that time. A full safety inspection is not required during the damage inspection process. in the end, I was provided a 45 $refund (00349125) for which I did not request. Over the past 4 years, I have rented resources from UHAUL. This is the first time, I have encountered a resources so grossly maintained and a direct violation of motor vehicle safety standards. The overall safety of UHAUL resources are paramount for those who seek your services. Please ensure your franchisee's make safety a priority. I was not at all pleased with the transparency of this process. In my case an 80 $rental turned out to be 220 $+. Not sure why mileage is so high when you also have to refuel. I realize now a rental van would have been more efficient and flexible. I will definitely not use UHaul for this type of need again. And, I would advise anyone else against it.LASHANNAPATRICE R.

Office was closed when I went to pick up van and when I called the number on the door, they automatically referred me to the Old Ox Rd one. Prior to arriving at the facility I reserved a 10x10 drive up storage unit. I called to confirm the day before my reservation date and the first man I spoke with said he didn't see my reservation in the system. Then I spoke with a woman who said I was all good for my reservation. I arrived the next day and the man working at the front desk seemed a little confused, but then called his manager and without telling me anything took my information and we walked out to go see my new storage unit. He walked me to a non drive-up unit and said that was all they had (even though I reserved a drive-up unit). I let him know this wouldn't work since I have heavy bulky furniture that I need to put into storage. He then said that there is another unit that just needs to be cleaned that I should be able to have, walked me over to that unit, put the key on and told me that was all he needed from me and that I could leave. While he did the best that he was able to do, I am annoyed that the manager's advice was to just give me a different type of unit without asking me if that was okay. I also have no paperwork or email confirmation showing my new storage unit and am hesitant to even use it, in fear that he didn't change anything in the system and the unit that I am in will be given to someone else.. I don't understand where the communication went wrong but I don't feel good about this experience and storing my items in the unit with so many unanswered questions.Lindsay W. | Premières impressions

We had to move my 82 mother in law out with 2 days notice (evicted!) and it took 2 days to do. Entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Husband and I are almost 60. The first day it was just my husband and I. It was too short notice to enlist anyone we knew to help - folks gotta work! On the second day of the move we just could not unload the truck ourselves. We had help in WVA loading up the truck but absolutely had no strength to unload to the storage. That is when I called Uhaul to see if they knew anyone to help. The manager arranged two young men to help us. Of course we paid them. This was above and beyond. This staff is the best, Chanelle, Joe (?) the manager, everyone who helped! Upon clearing out my storage unit, I went to the office to check out. I provided my access card to the person at the counter and was told I was good to go. I checked the status the next day and the unit was still active so I called and was assured I would be checked out. I then requested a move out online just to be sure. After a couple weeks of waiting, the rental was still showing active. I called the location again and was ensured it would be taken care of. A few days later, I received an email saying my rent was overdue. I called the 800 number because the location had not been helpful. All they did was send an email to the manager requesting this be closed out. The next day I called the location and was told the manager was not available but they would leave a message requesting the rental be completed. The next day I received an email saying a late charge was being applied to my account for not paying rent for a unit I had been out of for over 2 weeks and requested 7 times to be done with. It was only when I replied to this email and indicated I would not be paying one penny more for a unit I have been trying to check out of for weeks that the checkout was FINALLY completed. This was either an attempt to get me to pay more money than I owed or just total incompetence on EVERY employee I interacted with when trying to close this out. Completely unacceptable.
