Make sure you have appropriate staffing levels at the front desk on Saturday's. The line was way to long and you me gentlemen took almost 25 minutes to rent a pull behind trailer. Way to long….

The items I included in the rental (blankets and dolly) were not inside the truck as promised at pickup. The truck itself, while clean inside, was worn out. Transmission was in bad shape. With no load at all, it labored in shifting. Once loaded, I could not utilize the tow/haul option as this completely prevented the transmission from changing gears. Even with slow acceleration from a stop, the engine would go well above 4000 rpm without changing gears. Had to switch off tow/haul for fear of redlining the engine. To top it off, it rained during our use and the windshield wipers had obviously not been replaced in a long time and were worthless.

It was weird. I thought service was great as man came up as I drove up and said he was checking me in and I could go as I was just dropping off. So I did, but then I received 2 phone calls asking where there U-Haul was. I dropped it off in Saturday, was called Sunday and then Monday Am. I thought those 2 Guys might have stolen it. I was worried. Then I received an email with a receipt saying it was returned Sunday ( it was returned Saturday).

I ordered a 10ft truck and was called the day before to say they don't have a 10 but they'd reserve me a 15 at the same price. That was fine by me but when I went into the store she told me I wasn't getting either of them. That all they had was a 20. She was going to make me pay for the 20 ft. I also ordered a utility dolly and she said "yeah we don't have any, what do you want to do ". It was a horrible experience. She finally changed her tune and I think understood my frustration. I am honestly not sure why they reservations if they don't have it.

I didn't like that the fuel tank was only a quarter filled when I received the truck. I had to take my time to fill the truck up with gas immediately after picking up the truck and then try my best to return the truck with a quarter tank of gas so not to be charged a fee or leave additional gas in the tank that I paid for. I spoke to the manager about it but he didn't seem to care.

The information was extensive. We could complete everything via the phone from making a reservation to returning the u-haul early or on-time. The vehicle could be inspected online as well using an upload via camera of the vehicle. Instructions were explicit.

The return of vehicles needs to have two lanes to turn in vehicles after hours. I was almost in the road turning in the vehicle. Also the phone reception was terrible so it took forever to get instructions to return vehicle.

Customer services was horrible…staff was lazy ass hell…. The storage unit in the storage unit was not available upon arrival. Rental prices was great but Conner and Shanta was lazy and left me on hold….Ended coming to store and they were standing round talking..

Where was management? The employee's had no idea what they were doing and were causing multiple errors. While I was in line, one of the employees came in and said, "Oh no, I gave him the wrong truck. I pulled it from the back." and another employee said we will fix it when he gets back. These poor employees were all stressed out. Just endless issues, I would have been better off going with Lowes or Home Depot for my truck rental.

The fuel when I got it was lower than 3/8. More like 5/16. It made me overfill it because I was scared of being over charged. Please look at the fuel more closely.

I returned the truck on the same day rented , 2 days early. I tried to get someone to check the truck in but everyone said they would check the truck in and email me a receipt. I took pictures of the fuel gauge when I rented the truck and when I returned it. There was more fuel in the truck when I returned it than when I got it. I was still charged $7,5 for fuel. I knew there would be additional charges because of everyone's reluctance to check the truck in. Not an honest company. Now let me go to Google for more reviews.

Reservation system was down when I arrived and took more than 30 minutes before it came back online. When I returned the truck clean, I was charged a $25 cleaning fee.

Wasn't expecting a truck with 133k miles. Seems like it has had better days pretty beat up. When you put the truck in reverse it would drop it's self into neutral frequently.

I've been dealing with this U-Haul for 5+ years now- storage, rentals, etc.. Overall GREAT experiences! This particular rental of a tow dolly was my first of that type. The trailer itself was easy to tow, simple to operate, etc.. The only real issue was that the wheel-holding straps were in poor condition & required more work than desired to use. I told the location's team about this.

Was an older model truck and made a weird noise when turning it off. Also, the oil/engine light went on about 40 minutes after leaving the store. Otherwise, everything else went smoothly. Perhaps it would be a good idea to retire the old model trucks out of service. I would hate to have broken down after loading it up.

I was pretty disappointed to find out that I was moved out of my unit within a couple days of moving in by someone at the location. My unit disappeared out of the app due to being moved out. Luckily, when I called back, the person on the phone was able to fix it for me and reinstate my move in. Overall, the location did a good job handling the situation, but it was a very scary moment for me.

Only if needed! The only person that was polite, helpful, and kind was the older gentleman that check the truck at 5:51 pm outside when we returned the truck! Zy is a rude non customer oriented person. The guy at the counter when we checked was busy with someone. Zy came to the door and we were waiting and he asked her to help us. She said I am to busy! She finally gave in and came inside to help. Absolutely a very rude person!

In the 15 months I had things stored, the price of the 5x5x10 unit increased twice. When it reached $80 per month, I couldn't see it so I pulled my things out. I've used U-Haul on 3 different occasions and been quite pleased. But I live on SS and can't afford another rate increase. The cost of living has increased everywhere, but my social security check isn't enough to cover my expenses.

Note: I have already contacted customer support about this issue I returned the uhaul and then received my receipt through email 20 minutes later. On the receipt it shows a charge for cloth pads missing/damaged and a charge of $96. I did rent a pack of 10 cloth pads but never used them so I was fine with the $10 charge even if I did not use them. I then called the Lynchburg Uhaul facility and asked them why there was a charge for missing or damaged cloth pads. The gentleman never asked for a name or a number and proceeded to tell me I was missing 24 pads that were in the truck and that if I needed anymore help that I would have to contact a manager in the morning of the next day. The lack of care or repsect at this location is tremendous. Thankfully the uhaul customer support has been helpful and has put a dispute in for review on these charges. I hope the Lynchburg Uhaul location has a huge turn around as they are the largest in the area.

I ordered a hitch from U-Haul on the recommendation of the dealer who sold me my new small sailboat. I reserved a hitch installment date several weeks ahead, and took my car by a week beforehand for a visual check of suitability for the ordered hitch. Yet when I arrived at the appointment time, I had to wait 2 hours before staff qualified to install hitches arrived and could begin installation. And when installing the hitch, staff cut out part of my bumper to accommodate the hitch only to find out during installation that they needn't have done so. They taped the cut-out back, but with only light box tape around the edges (I had to redo the tape job more thoroughly with quality tape as soon as I got home). Although I stressed at appointment time and during the pre-appointment check that the ball mount needed to have sufficient rise so the top of the ball was a certain height above ground to fit my trailer, they installed a ball mount with a rise 2,5 inches too low. When I returned the ball mount, they said although they didn't have the right size. They then called and said the other Lynchburg location had it and I could pick it up there. Not trusting that information, I called the other location, who said they were told the wrong size and that they did not carry the right size. I ended up ordering the right size on-line. My car was 12 years old, and thus its worth was not substantially diminished by the unnecessary bumper cut-out. And staff knocked off about $75 off the hitch price to compensate for the error. But I was very disappointed in the poor quality of the overall service and the botched installation, as well as the extra time and effort it took me to get things right - and thus will discourage anyone who asks from using this U-Haul location for hitch installation.

Communication was a concern during the time I had a unit here. Even on the initial day, when I was directed to the unit, communication was missing. Many of the units are not in numerical order. The gentleman at the desk gave directions, then said he would be there in a few minutes to check on me, making sure I found the place. It took almost 20 minutes of wondering to arrive at the unit and no checkup occurred. In fact after signing the paperwork, I never saw anyone from the office. I could have been mugged in that back aisle on that day and no one would have noticed! There was an initial confusion regarding automatic payments - it was not thoroughly explained, and an assumption was made on my part leading to a late payment and a lockout at a difficult time. Communication was also a problem, involving a late payment and a safety issue with my bank. Instead of contacting me via phone or text, a letter was sent to an "alternate address" that I had not realized was even given- that of my sister in Michigan! Regarding security, I assume the place is being observed at all times in all places by camera, as the property is wide open, accessible to anyone at any time. Regarding communication: during the aforementioned issue, I spent over an hour on the phone being passed around from office to office, none of them being on the property, in order to figure out what had happened and why I was locked out. Not helpful when I had to leave my 90-year-old bed-bound mother in order to pick up what was needed from the storage unit! When things went well, they were fine. When things were difficult, it was hard to find someone to help with the resolution. As far as what I recommend U-Haul to a friend- you sort of have a lock on things for a short-term rentals!

I do not recommend this place. Many newer and nicer units available in the area. Also they kept jacking the price up over time. Rain leaked into the unit and ruined some items as well. Not a quality place - nothing got renovated only just ended up paying more and more. Go here to rent a truck, not a storage unit.

Thank you for being able to secure a unit for me on short notice and do the move out procedure on short notice. I appreciate it! One thing I did notice was a friend's unit did not have the black rat poison box when mine did. That's the only oversight I've noticed. I would recommend people use this particular uhaul storage location in the future.

Kashone and the rest of the staff were really great to work with and accommodating. We needed U-boxes for a cross country move and Kashone was so helpful operating the forklift that he made our loading experience much easier. What impressed me even more was how well the staff is able to prioritize and triage the many customers needs that visit the store. It seems like there are constantly 3-4 people who need something urgently and the team always acts with professionalism and handles the situation. Thanks for everything and appreciate y'all making our moving experience better!

The staff do not take the time with customers and they are too busy conversing with each other and joking around to take the time to explain or help customers. And don't even take you to show you where to pick up the truck. They send you out to get a truck that has others blocking it in.

Except for trying to physically get someone on the phone everything went fine. Answering machine is ok but sometimes you just need to TALK with someone. Answering machine doesn't always ask the right questions or give the answers.

Some of my stuff that were sentimental to me given to me from my mom was taken out of my storage unit. Regardless if it was put up for auction or not no none had the right to take my stuff. When I was making payments everything was fine. The last time I had went in there was to get rid of old beds I didn't want. The yellow cord to my unit was also cut. Not only that a lady had given me keys to my storage unit that I had already had keys too from a lock that I had bought from the Uhaul. My keys still worked. The staff was very nice though and kept checking on me as I was moving my stuff out of my Unit Monday 9, 2023.

Initially, the move in process was difficult because of a staffing issue at the facility. However, I thought Kashone did a wonderful job managing the situation and made the difficult process much easier. After some initial confusion about the size of my unit, she immediately remedied the situation and quickly got me set up at the right unit.

Our storage unit price went up like 4 times within like 6-8 months. The staff was always friendly when someone would be in the store. They are always short on weekends having one person to check in trucks and help people in the store sometimes I would be inside the store waiting for over 30 mins because there is no staff. This has happened on numerous occasions. With so much competition in the area the prices could be a little more affordable. You should also be able to change your payment due date to where it works with the customer pay schedule.

Always a wait. I called 15 times to get a storage area. Put on hold. The customers were 25 deep at 11:00 am. Ridiculous wait. I left n came back three times. Employees cant work harder or faster. More help needed. Answer the phone please. Employees are nice for the most part. Cash is a nice guy n helpful. Not enough help. Waiting is too long.

We loved our experience with U-Haul storage. My daughter and 2 other students shared a storage unit this summer and everything was clean and secure. The staff was so helpful and made moving very simple. We will definitely use this facility again in the future.

The badge in system is overly complicated. One swipe to check in, another to open a door, and no way to open the large garage doors without walking around the building. Also, we have had multiple units at once, and closing one shut down access to the facility until we got our cards re-added (we went through this multiple times). The facility has been great, but the customer experience could be easier from an access control perspective.

The storage itself was great. My issue is with my son renting their $19,99 pickup truck, to haul (only) his mattress so he wouldn't have to sleep on the floor. He was charged $68 + for a advertised $20 rental truck. They charged $20 for insurance (it is already checked in the agreement, and my son didn't know that he didn't have to use their insurance) for the truck plus even though my insurance covers anything he drives another $19+ and 0,69 per mile ($13 to go 19 miles round trip) plus $19 for fuel. All for a $19,99 rental. I did get the $19 for fuel refunded.

Having employees on site at the location to talk with and help customers is very valuable in my opinion. That was one reason I choose U-Haul. The employees were very helpful.
