The truck we're extremely old Outdated and very hard and uncomfortable and not safe to drive on the highway for city maybe for a long distance I'll never recommend anybody very dangerous and not safeBORIS I.

Truck windshield was dirty inside and out. There was a dirty mask left in the truck cabin. The attendant didn't do a vehicle inspection with me, so I had no idea what scratch, dent, or issue may have been considered a prior issue with the Truck.JASON L.

This was seriously one of the best retail experiences I have ever had. The pick up went super smooth, no surprises. We were moving my daughter into University, and this took all of the stress out of the move. The return of the uhaul went just as smoothly. The van we had on reserve hadn't been returned yet, so the office gave us another one so that we didn't have to wait. That was really appreciated. The truck was clean but my husband had difficulties driving it because he said something was wrong with the transmission. The ability to pick up my truck using the self serve online feature did not work. It said my reservation was up coming even though the pick up time had been reached. I had to wait and go into the location and pick up my truck manually. Truck had lots of damage that was not reported from the previous user.JOHNF D.

While pick up was as expected in terms of process and wait time and staff was quick to help out. The return was exactly the opposite. The yard CLEARLY marks that you arrive and park in specific zone and WAIT....This site was unstaffed and I was advised this was NOT the process for return. The staff was only 1 person which may be adequate for any normal monday am but around end of august there is an uptick as kids are moving to school etc and thus tarffic should have been expected to be up and thus properly staffed. Existing staff was not clear in her instruction causing confusion and frustration. Clearer communication and less attitude would have gone A LONG WAY to making the circumstances more understanding. I have been there too and clear communication usually smoothes most of this over.Scott L.
Dear U Haul I want to share my experience with you guys. Let me start from very beginning. Everything starts from friday(20/8/21). I booked uhaul 20" truck online everything went smooth and at the same time i was looking for storage unit. I got a popup that i can get a free first month. I was like gr8 thats all i need and i went on to reserve it and apply the discount but somehow an error occurred. Then i called the uhaul toll free number. Lady picked up everything went well she said she applied the discount everything is good u now just have to pick up truck move your stuff and return the truck back. Was so happy until the moving day sunday (22/8/21). I went to pick up the 20" truck and it turns out that they dont have that. I was amazed like how can someone book you something that is not even available. I was like ok no problem i ll go with 15" and rest of the small stuff I ll move by my car. And just to make my moving more worse the truck was filthy, steering wherel and seats were sticky as there were lot of sweat and never cleaned but it was moving day, i ignored it. i put my stuff in the rental went to storage unit which was 40 kms away and when i reached there the guy said they cant apply the discount because the rental truck has to be one way or something. Again they promised me something else and charging me something else. I called u haul toll free as i was waiting outside. They said the same thing i said can i talk to manager and she even said the same thing. Then i replied i already got to know this thing from 2 other people but as a manager how you can help me out in this situation and while our conversation was going on I mentioned that i was getting it cheaper somewhere else but i choose u guys cuz of promotion and now u r saying this you cant honour it. Her reply just made me so angry, she said u should go to those guys if they r cheaper. Lady just hear yourself i m in ur truck its almost 4 o clock 5 o clock everything will be closed and i am 40 kms away from my city and u r saying this to go take it somewhere else. Thats just so rude and that's not a way to handle customer complaints. Gist of the story i am using u haul from quite a bit u can check my records and this was by far the worst experience I ever had with Uhaul. I want someone to look after my case and give me call back with all the answers i have. -Why you promised 20" truck but never had it? -why u told me that u have applied the discounts and made me go 40 kms and then only tell u can go somewhere else? -in these covid time why u don't assure the cleanliness and proper sanitation of the trucks? - why ur manager despite solving customer issues tell them to go somewhere else? This is important. And i want to let u know my brother and i are starting to feel itchiness in our hands and arms. So please make sure the cleanliness of the rentals. Staff was not very helpful, as they did not provide options for vehicle return after-hours. They suggested coming back the next morning, but I was able to use the app and key drop-off to complete my return that same evening, which saved me a trip back to the rental center.SALMAAN A.
Booked 26 foot truck was told no truck can have 15 foot plus trailer. Had to pick trailer up in different location. Was told I could drive to north bay to get 26 foot truck from newmarket 2,5 hours. Now because I lost cubic feet had to do 2 trips which put me over the km permitted and therefore costing me about150 $more. I would not recommend moving with uhaul.Jack P.

I believe somebody have to inspect the trucks or cargo vans. That truck I drove had lots of problems. We don't need to see just inside and outside is clean. Your trucks have to work properly. The middle aged female was very vague in regards to rental details when we picked up our vehicle. It almost seemed like she either could not breakdown the costs for us or felt like she didn't need to. She also did not inspect the truck for damage pre and post delivery. We weren't informed of the additional penalties if we didn't take our 407 transponder with us AFTER we returned the vehicle and when I dropped the truck off, this same employee didn't even really have time to take her eyes off of the poem she was reading and essentially brushed me off when I asked about the 407 fees. The car was dirty and smelt sheep. Uhaul cars also need central remote to lock all doors at the same time, otherwise you need to go around the car and lock all of them one by one, which is a waste of time and efforts when you are on a busy schedule. Plus, they are crazy expensive cars. They should lower down mileage calculation. 70 cents per kilometer+ 20 cents per day + full tank =ruining for the budget. The staff member at Aurora location Oleg is a great guy though, very nice and helpful. Merci.ISKANDAR S.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF ALL TIME!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OR BOOK AGAIN I reserved my uhaul over 2 months in advance. I booked a 20' truck, matts, dolly for 24hours. Two days before my date to pick up I receive a phone call. â€œTruck not availableâ€¦ we can give you 10' or 15' for 2 hours. What a joke! Then after arguing with customer service and the night to pick up truck arrives they sent me to wrong location. Service at location was horrible and had to argue with employee on a cell phone because he decided to leave early that day (other lady didn't know what to do). Then had to drive any other 20km to different store to pick up my 10ft truck. Not 20' which I booked way I'm advanced. Long story short do not book uhaul ever and go somewhere else.FRANK N.

The equipment was fine. However the customer service/experience was poor. The female person that was there was unfriendly, not helpful and seemed to be miserable in general. The only time she seemed pleased was when she informed me that I couldn't rent the trailer because my license was expired. She could have just said I should renew it across the street, but instead only told me that I couldn't rent the trailer. From my two interactions, I don't think she is well suited for customer service.BRIANR M.
