The truck was so shaky that we couldn't even drink a coffee in the truck. We couldn't go over 50km per hour! I requested a new truck and had no luck. I was told I would get a refund or a credit and got nothing. When I returned the truck I was attempting to speak to the management and she didn't even look up from the paper she was looking at the whole time I talked. I waited for two minutes until she looked up at me. Zero customer service.


Don't argue what size the customer wanted to order. I was told ( probably because I'm a woman) that I didn't need a larger truck. We had to make unnecessary extra trips because I have a large amount of tools, full work shop, garden tools, yard items, outdoor furniture etc not to mention the inside furniture and household chattels. Such a waste of gas, time and manpower.


Wear masks properly, not below the nose. The staff said "I'm not afraid of covid, SARS was much worse!" Personally, I don't care how ill-informed you are, don't put me at risk due to your ignorance. I ordered a 5x9 trailer w ramp. Thr day before I was to pick it up they messaged that it was not available as it was going in for repairs. They offered a 6x12 at the same price. I asked them to check if my use could tow it. She confirmed that it could. The day to use it I had multiple confirmed reservations from 2 different locations. Now they had me reserved for a 4x7 motorcycle trailer because my vehicle couldn't tow the 6x12. I had spent half an hour ensuring my ute's electrical connection worked...wasted. luckily for me, my ancient pickup worked out and the lights even worked too, something I had strong reservations about.

Aurora location was excellent. Bradford where reservation first made was deplorable.


Lady that I picked up the truck from was miserable. When I dropped it off, the guy was very helpful.


I found the charge for the mileage I bit steep, I went to from aurora to Whitby to Bradford back to Aurora And total bill was $ 200 plus $52. In Gas. Had Truck back in 5 hrs .


Upon checkout I was informed about the the verified mileage charges, however there was no mention I was being charged for a utility Dolly that I didn't use. Apparently there is some tab on the dolly that was either broken by a box or something else that impacted it. However the dolly was never used. When I told the rep I never used the dolly, he basically said the tab was broken I charged you for it too bad. I had to spend 20 minutes on hold with U-Haul to reach a rep and another 15 minutes explaining the situation, over 30 minutes of my time to rectify something that should have been addressed before I left. Further to this, I declined a dolly when I rented the vehicle, if there is some tab that can be broken inadvertently and a client declines the dolly the dolly should not be in the vehicle, period. I have my own dolly and the storage facility I was using also provides one, which is why it was declined on the initial rental request and was never used. As soon as I said it wasn't used and could even show photos of my own dolly there the charge should have been reversed. The $10.00 is nominal it's the principal of the situation. I guess the next time I rent I will have to explicitly request all dollys, packing blankets and anything else that is potentially chargeable and not part of the vehicle itself or related to mileage be removed.


Great staff at this location.


Customer service, from making the reservation to pick up and drop off was unorganized, incoherent and it seemed that the representatives would rather be anywhere else.

The truck was clean and well maintained. Once I got used to the feel of the truck and the differences from my car it was easy to drive. It was a little confusing having all the settings be set for American driving and having to keep in mind to convert to metric. The woman who greeted me after my confession with the truck sitting there unlocked and with the keys in the engine and the location door locked could have been kinder and more understanding to the fact that I was very unsure what to do. I tried to knock on the window and did not get any response of acknowledgement and despite having completed the online check in there was no directions on what else to do next if the door is locked with no response so I started to evaluate the condition of the truck and this is when she finally came out only to yell at me. It also would have been more helpful to have the quote include taxes as I thought I had paid for everything but had to pay almost $200 more when picking up the truck for taxes.


No one took me out to the truck to explain the towing on off button. Was my first time renting a truck. The decals were under the steering wheel and not to visible to read.

1. Trailer was pre-paid online to avoid interaction upon pick-up but had to pay upon pick-up 2. Dolly was not provided despite having prepaid... There were 4 dollys sitting there, but staff member said they were for local reservations only. Other employee (assuming manager) came out having heard conversation and said he would call head-office to see if he could provide one. By then, I had already paid and was frustrated 3. Amount charged was more than originally paid online... despite not including $10 dolly. Maybe taxes, but why would taxes not have been originally charged. 4. Original location reserved with Richmond Hill... Was then informed that pickup would be Aurora (further from home) 5. Employee did not seem at all interested in satisfying the customer Overall a very poor customer service experience


Check out and check in were quick and efficient. The trailer that I rented was clean and in good condition. All around a positive experience.


No truck available at pick up, after making a reservation. Told they left a voicemail the night before, which I never received. Denied the $50 Equipment “guarantee” I really have no reason to return or recommend U-Haul to anyone.

The mobile check out did not get setup as we were told. Had to sit out front of this location for an hour until they opened. Luckily the gentlemen working there helped as out as soon as he could. I do appreciate that, as customer service is rare these days. Other than the prices skyrocketed I was very happy with the truck and services.

Everything about the rental itself and the location were excellent. My only complaint is about the reservation process. Twice my confirmed reservation was changed. The result of the changes was that I had to drive 25mi each way to pick up a smaller truck than I originally wanted. The fact that I had to pay for that extra mileage seems most unfair. Again, not the locations fault at all.


Parking spaces could be better for customers.


Individual who greeted us was not welcoming and quite miserable. We reserved a furniture trolley and it was not available and there was no notice given of this. This was a key requirement for us to be able to move the piano we rented the truck for. The truck itself was in horrible shape. The transmission sounded like it was going to ‘blow up'. This is clear from the gas consumption - we went 27 miles and spent $20 to fill the truck back up on return. Had we been going further or moving more belongings we would have returned the truck immediately. The required back up warning was also not working. We had to go to the Newmarket location to pick up the trolley and if we ever use your company again, we will go to this location where the gentleman who greeted us was helpful and kind.


After being switch from the Newmarket location to Aurora location due to a truck break down My truck was not there when I went to pick up. the previous customer had not returned it.


1, Pre-booked furniture dolly was not available, the S. Asian staff use the previous shift colleague as a strong excuse; 2, The gas is only 3/5 level when the vehicle was picked up, but the S. Asian staff insisted to this is full tank and need be filled full at return which I did. It is kind of cheating.
