The pickup went fine, the vehicle was good. Upon returning the vehicle I waited for nearly 20 minutes for someone to come out and inspect the it, then went inside to wait in a long line up to sign off. The AC was broken the day of so the wait was made even more uncomfortable by the heat. The employee was slow, completing transactions and inconsiderate of the awaiting customers. She chit chatted excessively delaying the 6+ person lineup further. All the customers behind me we also expressing their frustration with our situation. I will not be returning to that location in the future if I can help it.

THis time actually was very good, closer to 5 stars...in past though, and a little bit today, loooong wait times at the counter. This location is chronically understaffed and it saves owner overhead, but you are creating a lot of unhappiness & stress on BOTH sides of the counter. Staff DO NEED more actual front-line help, not more "managers" and the customers need to be seen more quickly.

I had a one way which I tried to drop off at 13432 143st which is 5vmuns away from me but got sent away to the one on 111. Hole point of the one way I thought was the ability to drop anywhere. I ended up being late for work having to take it to the other location.

POOR INTERNAL COMMUNICATION: When I initially scheduled my service, I called U-haul to speak with a rep. When I explained I wasn't ready to book that I had questions and wanted to speak with someone the woman was rude and transferred me to another department (possibly in Texas due to the accent). This woman was wonderful - she answered my questions and booked my service...and then the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE went array. I called to make changes and was told it was done but when I received my confirmation call a couple days later they weren't aware of the changes - so he/she noted the change. But when I picked up the truck - again, they weren't aware of the change. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: Customer service at this location is virtually non-existent. While I say this for many reasons, at one point during the registration/pick-up process, one of the ladies came in from the back and asked if anyone had seen her boots...and we were left standing at the til while the guy went to help her look for her boots! SMH

Don't rent anything from the kingsway kmart to anyone they are terrible and when you show up to pick up they tell you that there is no u haul today. after being on hold hour an hour they finally say that there is a trailer at the 154th location wasted an hour of my time to get a trailer that should have been really straight forward

This was a much better experience with this location. Staff was busy but efficient and quick. We had some difficulties with our trailer wiring but they were patient with us and came and checked a couple times to see if we had it figured out. I ended up having to pick it up the next morning first thing and again everyone was super helpful. Thanks for making a hectic day as easy as possible.

I would never use u-haul again after this experience. I had a reservation and still waited in line for 45 minutes.One person on reception of a Friday of a long weekend?,really?.There was little to no professionalism and when the van was returned I was given no direction to check in procedures.I was charged as I went over the 40 km estimate by 2 km's.I signed on pick up to be responsible for damage and waived the coverage yet I was charged on the final bill.It should have been a seamless transaction,rent van,move daughter and return the van four hours later.That being said it was not and I will be using your competition from now on(3 minutes away on the same ave).I am not a huge customer but I still expected a moderate degree of customer service.

Only two staff working on a Saturday at the end of the month!!! This caused crazy lines and delays. Have used this location in the past however this was the worst experience ever. For the amount you charge the customer you shouldn’t be so cheap and hire another staff member...shouldn’t have to wait an hour in line to get a truck

My scheduled pick up time was 7:30 am. I didn't get the truck until 9am. There were around 20 people in line ahead of me at 7:15am, and only one person working until 8am and then another person showed up to work the front counter. Truck was still expected back by 1:30pm

If I fill out an online reservation, with all the details, even select the quick check in option, I would expect to have a seamless transaction when I arrive for my reservation. I wait 1.5 hours in line, and there were only 6 people ahead of me. By the time I got to the front I had to re-submit all my information even though I filled out the online confirmation because that’s the procedure. I’d rather have it printed and verify it so I don’t have to spend 10 minutes re filling out the form with the desk girl. To top it off, the mattress covers I ordered didn’t show up in my reservation, and the truck I reserved wasn’t available so they downsized me with zero incentive. I lost an hour and a half of my reservation to waiting in line due to an incredible inefficient process. I’ll never use or recommend u-haul again.

Im very disapointed with my experience. At first uhaul carehave fix the sudden change to my reservation and now when i have drop off the truck one day earlier they also charge me extra fee for Droping to another location when it was clear i have say i drop off in southside edmonton location where i was suppose to pick up but i have pick up on the westend of the city. Why i should be penalise for something like this ? Just WOW very bad i have to say .

Overall I'm very dissatisfied with the service. It took 30min to get the keys, and the time wasn't added to our contract. The truck itself didn't accelerate properly, and swallowed gas. We went with Penske last time, better service, paid less for bigger equipment, and overall better experience. Won't choose U-Haul again.

the inside of the trailer was clean. the outside of the trailer was dirty we=hen I picked it up. the staff was very friendly. 1 improvement that would be helpful. I did the advanced online check in. there were 30 people in front of me that morning. no one pre-filled out their information which took 2 hrs for from 8-10am. there should be a line up for people that have used the pre-online checkin. that would encourage everyone else to do it as well

For what I would assume is a busy time for renting moving vehicles, ie: end of month, I saw 1 person behind the desk, and didn't find anyone else for 7-8 minutes. The "drop box" for the key, which was supposedly there to make my drop-off quick and easy, was beside a wide open overhead door, meaning anyone walking by could have picked up the keys and driven away, leaving me, presumably, on the hook for a stolen van.

The process of renting a vehicle is very time consuming. With only one counter person first thing in the morning & 5 - 10 people coming in to pick up a vehicle this can take over an hour. Not a consumer friendly process. Tried to do some of the preliminary stuff online, but getting logged in was frustrating enough that I gave up

The customer service was excellent. Our truck had not been brought back by the previous renters, and they tried everything they could to help us. But the fact we stood in line for 2 hours in the morning, then were told we didn’t have a truck and were delayed for an hour when returning the truck is the reason for the low score.

An appliance dolly was booked and we were told it was in the truck. When we went to begin the loading we found the dolly was not there. It was a 10 minute wait on hold calling the rental location, only to be told we would need to drive back to pick it up. That plus the delayed availability of the truck made the day more difficult!

The guy who did our return was super friendly and helpful- but the poor guy was the ONLY one working and it was crazy busy. I waited almost an hour to return the truck. There should be more than one person working on a Saturday when it’s obviously going to be busy

Our U-Haul was 9 hours late, we were supposed to receive free gas for it, and we were told to return the U-Haul with 1/8 tank of gas since the U-Haul was so late, then we were charged for the missing fuel. This location and the new era location were very confusing and both telling me I had to pick up from them. This was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this company. We were told we would get a phone call regarding our dispute and we did not and now we have been charged for the “missing fuel” I will be in contact as this is atrocious customer service!

My uhaul reservation was modified without my consent or knowledge, so I had to go to three different locations to find the truck that I booked originally for 6 hours, which turned out to be less than 4 hours after all the traveling around looking for the right truck. Very disappointed. Very poor experience. Some of the agents that I spoke to was understanding, so that was nice. Also, the truck has an enormous amount of play in the steering wheel. Not the best to go around the city.

The cashier or the staff that assisting me looks like very sleepy and sloopy.i was there 900 to pick up the truck but it takes 45 minutes before finishing the paper works whereas it was already taken the personal info online. System of computer very slow. No customer greeting in short very lousy staff. To tink that is only 900am in the morning. I think i am not the only one that is not satisfied others have no time to do the survey.

I reserved an enclosed trailer, showed up and there wasnt one available, so i ended up with an open trailer. Not sure if its the fault of the nit whit who asked me if my ram 3500 could tow at least 6000 lbs when i placed the reservation, or the dude who couldnt work his computer. Seems every time i use u haul they mess something up. Shit service, but At least its convenient.

Unfortunately, we've had issues from the get-go. Our initial reservation was not honoured and staff decided to close down shop approx. 3 hrs early and deny customers of their rental. Which in our case put us behind an entire day. When finally renting & returning the vehicle we had issues with the UHAUL app, you'd get so far and it would error out. It didn't matter which device we used. Now to billing. I was in contact with UHAUL customer service via phone to insure all went well with my returned vehicle, I let them know I had photos if needed. I requested a receipt as I still hadn't received one. I asked if we were owed money or if we owed money. I was assured UHAUL owed us money and a cheque would be sent to our new house since they had that on file. No cheque came the entire month. However, they saw fit to then send us our receipt and subsequent bill 30 days later stating we owed them money, over $100! Looking closer, there were several discrepancies on said bill. Despite UHAUL having many avenues to reach customer service, we have been flat out ignored, told they couldn't find our contract number or they couldn't access our receipt online. We have gotten absolutely nowhere but expected to pay an outrageous amount having drove the vehicle exactly 21km and returned it clean & undamaged. If we had gotten somewhere with customer service, we would not be leaving such a negative review. We will never be using UHAUL again despite them being our first choice the last 5 times we moved in recent years.

Some of your Rental Requirements are odd. I rent about 50 times a year from other companies and I have never been asked for an alternate persons number, which is then verified by the agent and if know one answers or doesn't have their name on the machine message you will not be able to rent the unit. Also the insurance requirements are as goofy as well.

My location changed 3 different times. The operator confirmed a 24hour rental as i requested. They said everything was set up. Until i got a call from the first location a few days after, saying they cannot rent me the truck for more than 8hours. This doesnt work for me and i expressed how i was promised one thing, but they shrugged me off and said i was connected to someone in the .u.s.a, and they confirmed my order without knowing the rules. So i call customer service back and after about an hour on the phone, they set me up with a 24hr truck at a new location. Until 2 days before my move i get another call. they cannot confirm my order again, and they changed my location and also set me up with a smaller truck. So im set up to pick up this 10'truck for 7am saturday and drop off 7am sunday. I dont often use uhaul and unfortunately nobody told me that they open at 9am sunday morning. I was there at 650am till i realized they were closed. I had to leave on my work time to stand in line and return the truck once they opened.. I was aggravated, but still ok at this point Until 1 hour after i drop the truck off, pay my fees, I get a voicemail while im at work saying "thanks for returning the uhaul, but we cannot find the keys and would like to know where they are, insert location phone#" I gave the keys to an employee, but still panicked from the voicemail because i dont want to be held responsible. I call the number back to be left on hold for 30+ mins. Im still at work at this time and i have my phone on speaker waiting to talk to somebody. Finally someone answers with a very similar voice that left me the voicemail , and they just brush me off saying the keys were missing but now they are found. Surprised they couldnt leave me another voicemail to say that and waisted my time again With how everything went i wouldn't want to rent uhaul again but there aren't many other options. Ill expect to get a run around on my next move, adding to the already stressful adventure

I had to wait in line for half an hour before picking up the truck. I reserved a 15 foot truck but when I got up to the counter they only had a 10 foot truck available. As such, I had to make multiple trips to complete my move and making me late to return the truck. I phoned the help line four times and had to wait on hold for 20+ minutes. When I tried to return the truck after hours using the app, the app could not find my reservation. Overall, I would not recommend using U-Haul.

The service I received over the phone when booking was not good. She was short, did not ask questions, made assumptions and was rude. The service I received first thing in the morning for pick up was very rude. After seeing and hearing me enter she chose to pick up the phone and make a call. After hanging up the call she did not acknowledge me for 2-3 minutes. Even just a glance or a " I'll be with you in a minute" would be called for. She acted like she didn't even notice that I had entered the office. If I had not needed the uhaul specifically on that day at that time I would have considered leaving and taking my business elsewhere. When I returned the vehicle the man that received the vehicle was nice enough. The lady behind the counter was abrupt and unfriendly. The truck ran very rough and was sticky on the inside. On a side note... renting a truck that pretty much has we love america written all over it is a little to non Canadian for me, and for the numerous people that made fun of it while I was using it that day. Next time I rent I will not be bringing my business to this location.

Make sure truck is cleaned and all garbage removed from truck. Fill tank before giving to a new customer regardless. Have keys ready in truck for mobile pick up. There wasn't any equipment available for use in the truck, make sure every truck is properly equipped.

Be honest with customers at the call centre . You get no honesty in pricing or availability . I was assured they would have what I reserved and it would be at the location I needed and for the time I wanted and it would all be confirmed by text .I asked three times and all I had to do was just go down to the location and everything would be waiting for me 11 am ..all good ! WRONG ! Nothing was there for me . Stood in slowest moving line with 15 people to find a big surprise . The truck I needed was at a south side location no where near me and only available right before closing . Never going back here . What a scam .

We specifically requested a 4x8 trailer. Waited 2 days to find out that we were getting a 5x8. Heavier and less streamlined in prairie winds for 1500 kms. Then asked us to return it to a location that was 40 minutes away instead of 5.

Your silly gas fill up scam.... I pick up the vehicle and its not full only 7/8 I try to refill it to 7/8 when I return it and end up over filling it so ...I loose. The real scam is the last guy that you charged a premium price to top up the tank and then you didnt do it so I kind of end up paying.....not cool.

I had made arrangements to pick up at noon - there was a long line up and the staff was frazzled, loud and unprofessional. The door on our trailer was difficult to open and loud. To be fair though when I did pick up the trailer I spoke with the manager and expressed my concerns, she apologized and was visibly horrified as I described my experience and upon returning our trailer when I let her know about the door she deducted $5 from our bill. I feel that my concerns were dealt with, but it seems every time I go to this uHaul there is an issue. Very frustrating.

When I got the truck the lady explained to me I had to being the uhaul back to where it was gas wise. When I got in the tank was not full. So I refilled it back to where it was maybe a little more and then got charged 12 bucks for gas charges. Also I rented a cargo van and due to some issues with the system she gave me a frew upgrade. The cargo van was 49c per mile, and the 10 ft truck was 89c per mile and I didnt realize the difference. So it cost me 111 dollars for the 1995 rental fee and 41 miles of travel. And 12 is gas fees. Way more then I anticipated in spending. The lady who check back in my vehicle was very rude with her attitude and made me feel stupid for not filling it up all the way. Very unsatisfied with my experience at this location. I've driven farther with other locations and paid 50 bucks less.

Only let me rent for 8 hours on a Friday even though website let me book for 2 days. Trying to get in contact of location was difficult as they seems very short staffed when I was there. Ability to use truck share 24/7 was the only thing that saved my moving day.

I have delt with other locations in the past and actually had talked to someone from the 50st location about a complaint I had trying to order a trailer to rent. Long story short the supervisor was suppose to call me back but that never happened. I'm glad though. I'm never going to another location again and waste my time. There was only one agent at the office and few people waiting in line at pick up time, and even I did select mobile pickup option, I had to wait to get a key. This is not to mention that I had to walk all around the facility looking for an assigned truck and then walk back to the office. Return experience was similar - there were three units at the return point and no attendant, so it took me another 20 min just to wait for an attendant.
