The first truck I received was in the wrong parking spot and the air conditioning didn't work. I then got a second truck that was also not in the right spot (parked on) and smelled like old smoke. It actually made us sick from driving in it. However the lady that helped me was very nice and responsive.Steve D.

I brought a wardrobe box and they didnt give me the piece that goes to it , so i could not use it. 15 out of my pocket. When i told them they said they could only refund me for it since i couldnt use it only with a receipt. They had receipt for the truck and made me pay separate for the wardrobe. The day was hectic and i couldnt find receipts. I left it there in hopes to find receipt later , but could not. I think thats unfair. I do have my bank receipt for payment. Can I get my money back. I was a little confused as to what to do to turn in the truck, and I had to go in and ask for a receipt. Clearer communication about the check-out process would help. Also, I needed to report that the 26' truck I rented (Vermont, lake monster picture on the side) had roof leaks and needed repair but am not sure they got the message.Keturah K.

Original person setting up the rental was rude and slow. I returned the trailer 2 hours later and there was no one to check it back in so I unhitched it and pushed it with the others and notified the only person outside working and he thanked me and said he would take care of it. No receipt the next day tried to call and was told a 30 - 40 minute wait. Finally Monday I received the receipt and was charged 3 days for my 2 hours. Worst service ever at a U Haul!Michael W.

I initially rented this U-haul for Sunday however when I arrived to pick it up it was blocked in by a truck in the front / back and to the left / right side of it. This did set me back a day not sure why my truck would be blocked in unless people dropping off their trucks blocked it in. I was able to speak with a rep w/switched my rental to Monday which was also fine however that was very inconvenient on Sunday and a waste of time. It took nearly an hour to get the key to the truck. I waited on hold for help for 50 minutes. The truck was clean - but the items paid for - furniture pads and dollies were NOT WITH THE TRUCK BUT LOCKED INSIDE THE BUILDING. We had to wait for them to open at 9AM to get what we paid for and should have had at 8AM. The truck while empty struggled to drive and likely has transmission issues. The mirrors vibrated so hard we could not see what was behind us. The app is too slow. This experience was so SHITTY that I will NEVER use this service again and I will TELL THE ENTIRE FACEBOOK COMMUNITY HOW MUCH YOU SUCK. I overpaid and was inconvenienced. Your only redeeming factor was an employee who did not have access to what we needed yet showed sympathy for our situation. BTW, there were two other customers there at the same time going through the same bullshit. You should be ashamed and dismantle this service because it is worthless.Cindy C.

Your app sucks! It doesn't stay logged in, never recognizes my phone, where I always log in from. The 24/7 check in process is lengthy and doesn't work. It took forever to complete the check out process. Why would you need to call someone else after I upload a selfie and my drivers license?! Your website inexplicably doesn't include taxes, so my rental cost more than I was quoted. The truck was not well maintained. The belt squealed the entire trip. I reserved a flatbed car trailer for a time sensitive move. I get there to be told they didn't have any and they couldn't do anything about. Said they'd give me a tow dolly with no warning before I got there. Made it work but hoping to damage to the transmission of the towed vehicle. Don't know if they were having a bad day but the guy at the counter definitely had an attitude as well. On the plus side the guy that helped hook up was great. And the lady that checked things out on return was very nice as well.Ethan R.

When dropping off the trailer, no one was available to provide service at drop off. After completing drop off using the Apps directions and about to depart, I was told I couldn't put the trailer with all the other U-Haul things in the lot. Truck was not available at time of reservation. Had reserved a one way truck and I'm turn had to receive a round trip truck. Was credited $50 to drive the truck over 70 miles back which the fuel alone was more than $50, let alone the 3 hours wasted when I should have had my reservation or the truck should have just been converted to the one way.Michael S.

I was disappointed that my original location was moved from east York to west. Added $18 to the miles.Kyle B.
Original reservation was made at a different location. When i arrived at the location indicated by my confirmation email, i was told my reservation was switched to a different location. No attempt at notifying me by phone or email was ever made. Equipment rented was a 6x12 utility trailer with a ramp. Because of the mounting style of the ramp, the opening was only 4'9". This was not noted anywhere when selecting the rental. Trailer was used to move a lawn mower with a 60" mowing deck which had to be removed from the piece of equipment before loading. All in all a very bulky and misleading experience.Andrew A.

Employees offered wonderful customer service. While Uhaul the company offered zero customer service and forced me to hire a locksmith to service the unit and the lock that I paid UHAUL for service. The company who's product failed, forced a paying polite customer to spend $135+ to service YOUR UNIT/PRODUCT. I didn't rent a unit from a locksmith. I didn't pay a locksmith for the UHAUL lock that immediately jammed. I didnt put my credit card and personal info on anyone else's business account but yours UHAUL Your employees were helpful, but horrifically ill informed. Two employees agreed I could buy bolt cutters and deal with the failed lock myself. Your management is so greedy with knowledge ( to hold a totalitarian state) that neither (pleasant) employees was educated enough to tell a HIGHLY UPSET PAYING CUSTOMER. Thattttt, NO sir you cannot do that. It's against policy, no bolt cutters won't work. Not a word. Clearly poor management. So I'm not only in the hole for UHALS failed lock, also the unit. Which UHAUL refuses to service? Seriously? Its your bloody product. I'm now $325+ in the hole for 48hrs of tragic service/failed product. Your employees also kindly informed me I could get a refund. The wall in unit 7004 needs to be repaired on the right hand side near the floor, the cement is falling off. Uhaul corporate needs to help Staff to know what exactly the size of each unit can hold. The young lady who opened my account looked on your site & tried to find the info out but it doesn't explain/identify that clearly. For example, a 10x15x6 unit can fit a one to two bedroom apartment/home?! Yes/No?! Or is appropriate for a one bedroom apartment? I ended up not using your facility because you couldn't tell me that and that was vital to knowing if my items could fit. That is a MAIN point of improvement and also it would be nice if you can let staff know what size can fit as noted above. I would have rated this higher. But I booked my storage a week before my move. Unloaded my stuff to find out my storage room 1018 has a lock on it. My stuff is sitting in the hallway waiting for the lock smith to show up he seems to be busy these days because it been almost 24 hours. Also I questioned why My Im being charged 10x10 rate while my storage is 8x8. I was told the price board was incorrect. It also seem that the website is incorrect too. I like the facility in Colorado much better. This one is not az well-lit nor maintained.us the one in Colorado is climate controlled. Also, I oy need a 5x5 but had to take and pay for one two sizes bigger. Also, this one is not as convenient as my other one but just as pri ey. In-person customer service was excellent. Employees are knowledgeable, courteous, understanding and patient. They appear to be overworked, though. More employees could eliminate the long lines and improve customer service experience. There also doesn't appear to be anyone answering the phone at this particular location. The person who took care of us did as much as they had to do. Not very customer friendly. I also asked about a mouse problem since there was a big sticky mouse trap in the storage unit I was renting. I was told there wasn't a problem. The only problem was the sticky mouse trap got stuck to one of my boxes and it cannot be removed no matter how much you pull at it. Supervisor was very disrespectful with my wife and when appropriately and respectfully approached about, he had a seemingly "i dont care" attitude and didnt even as much apologize or even try to understand his wrong doing. His only response was "ok" when I explained the situation that I wasn't there for and how criticizing a customer who didn't hear you for legitimate reasons is wrong. He simply walked away to avoid something he was wrong for which is completely unprofessional and he shouldn't be in a position he doesn't deserve with that negative attitude. I'm a 14 and ongoing army vet, I shouldn't have to worry about my wife having that kind of situation while I'm out with my daughter. If I trust you enough to do business with you for over a year with storage and utilize your vehicle services why do I need to worry about her going into your facility and dealing with your employees? There was only one time during my unit rental that I was two days late on a payment. I honestly had forgotten about it as the due date was over a weekend. I received an email about it and quickly called and made a payment as well as set up for auto pay. The thing that upset me is that in that time (two days...first time late) they had already sent letters to BOTH of my contact people about me not paying.
