Terrible experience! Rick who I assume is the owner refuses to do business online. All of these branch units are individually owned and operated so UHAUL told me to make direct contact for the pricing disclosures that I was seeking. I reached out by email and while I did get a response Rick added that I should call as phones were quicker and easier. In my next email I explained that things often got lost to me by phone and emails or texts if he preferred are better for me leaving written records for my review. A much better option for business in my opinion. I got no response but decided to make my reservation anyway since he did answer my questions at least. I made reservations with UHAUL for both a unit and a moving truck a few days later. Soon after, Rick canceled my reservation saying that he did not like online reservations because of potential scammers. He also insisted that I would need to make my reservation in person if I wanted one of his units. I declined for two reasons. First I hate people taking unilateral action without consulting me. If he had taken the time to ask me I would have assured him that I appreciated his vigilance and had every intention of showing up in person to move in with identification in hand. I am aware of the potential for identity theft and other scams online and agree that caution is necessary. In fact I've had my credit card number stolen before so proof of identity is something I really appreciate. Second his reluctance to communicate in my preferred way could only make doing business harder in the future. It also did not help that I was busy and his facility is nearly an hour away. I doubt that this review will make any future difference but that is my story.
