We are very disappointed in POV Self Storage— to say the least. Our belongings were stored with POV for a little over a month. When our movers arrived to the storage unit on the day we were moving into our new home, they were greeted by multiple soaking wet boxes and a ruined mattress, box spring, and dresser. Our master bedroom mattress was soaking wet and full of little black bugs that scurried everywhere when you touched it. We had nothing to sleep on and now had to figure out how to find and pay for a new mattress. I called Steve and received no answer. After I called him and left a voicemail, he texted me to say that he would get back with me soon. He never called me back, but instead sent me a text message saying that there was nothing he could do. He referenced a contract that he said he sent to me. I never received or signed a contract from him. When I sent him a follow-up text message, I included pictures of all of my ruined items and explained to him that I was extremely frustrated and upset about his lack of concern and customer care. Our storage facility was advertised to us as covered, safe storage. It certainly is not covered well as our items were soaking wet and our belongings were certainly not safe. His website advertises for a gated, secure storage facility and there is no gate. We have still heard nothing else from him and UHaul even told my husband that they were unable to get in touch with him when we filed a claim through them. Please don’t store your belongings here. We would hate for someone else to end up in the same situation that we ended up in. What was supposed to be an exciting move for us, turned devastating very quickly. Our moving company was even appalled at the condition of our belongings and of the storage unit.
