Here is my Google review as a local guide level 9 I booked a U-Haul storage unit online after renting my truck from another U-Haul location. I received a promotional offer for one month of storage for only $19.95, and this was the only participating location available. When I arrived, the office was closed even though it was supposed to be open. After waiting several minutes, an employee finally showed up and unlocked the door. The check-in process was extremely disorganized. He asked for my reservation number, my name, my driver’s licence, and my credit card. He made photocopies of both documents, disappeared for several minutes, and then came back telling me my reservation could not be honoured. According to him, there was some issue with the online booking, even though my payment had already been processed and I had received a confirmation from U-Haul. Instead of honouring the reservation, he told me it would now cost $35 and cancelled my reservation himself. The explanation made no sense and was never clearly communicated. Since the only reason I chose this location was the online promotional rate, I declined. I asked for confirmation that my reservation had been cancelled, but he simply said I would receive an email. I never received any cancellation confirmation. What made me even more uncomfortable was that he had already photocopied my driver’s licence and credit card. I asked for those copies to be returned or destroyed because I was no longer doing business there. That request was not handled in a way that inspired any confidence. I’ll be monitoring my credit card closely because I left with very little trust in how my personal information was handled. The property itself also leaves a lot to be desired. The parking area is poorly maintained, dusty, full of loose gravel, and awkward to navigate. There is no clear customer parking or organized traffic flow. The office was hot, cluttered, and felt unprofessional. Overall, the entire facility looked neglected and gave the impression of a temporary operation rather than a business that represents the U-Haul brand. Fortunately, I found another storage facility just a few minutes away where the staff were professional, transparent, and helpful. I rented my storage unit there instead without any issues. This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. I cannot recommend this location to anyone. If you value professionalism, transparency, and respect for your reservation and personal information, choose another storage facility.
