  • A lot of wood on wood that I had to correct after they were gone. One gentleman seemed careless with my things. The truck was packed oddly with light weight things at the back, a tall hutch standing in the middle, a heavy chest placed on my couch.

  • It felt like it was a pretty easy move. But one of the dudes disappeared near the end of the move for like a good 15 minutes or so and the move is only a two hour move.. Yes, we finished early. But that’s cause I did a ton of work to help since it was stairs. I get that nobody likes moving, but it’s really weird way to act when you’re getting paid to do it. Also, I told him to be careful with a piece that already gotten a little fractured in the move and it just felt like that wasn’t considered.

  • I’ve used Home Town Movers twice (once to unload the UHAUL and the second to unload the POD) for the worst move of my life and hands down you guys handled it the best out of any other company I’ve used nationwide for travel work over the last 2 decades.   • I’m moving 800 miles and decided for the first time ever to hire movers, and I’m glad I went with Home Town Movers. They had friendly attitudes, were kind to the neighbors passing by in the stairwell, had good communication, were punctual, and worked quickly. These guys know how to pack a trailer, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to take everything with me, but they made it work and they utilized all the space. Really grateful for the help, and highly recommend!

  • I am physically disabled, so I depend on people like Home Town Movers to treat my move like I would if I was doing everything myself. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I trusted the Home Town Movers team to properly pack my moving truck. That did not happen either. The boxes and items were not secured properly and when everything shifted, many of my possessions were squished, smashed, damaged, and obliterated. Furthermore, I had VERY CLEAR labels on all sides of every box, including FRAGILE on boxes that had contents for which extra special care was needed. This Fragile request was summarily ignored because many of my fragile boxes had their contents DESTROYED. When I hire a company to pack my truck, I EXPECT that they have the proper experience and expertise to properly pack a 26 foot UHaul moving truck. I am very disappointed.

  • The two movers that showed up were AWESOME! They deserve 5 stars. The manager that arranged everything was terrible and extremely rude. He did not confirm the move details until 10 minutes before my mover arrival, on the day of the move. He initially attempted to cancel the day of my move with a possible refund due to a communication issue on his behalf. Thankfully it all worked out because the actual movers were great people and still showed up.

  • Communication could certainly be improved. On the day of, received a text that crew would be arriving at 130pm. When they hadnt arrived yet I sent a follow up asking for ETA, and didnt get a response. Crew eventually arrived around 150pm which was all good, however at around 440pm I received an email requesting an additional hour of payment (on top of the 3 hours we had payed for). This is despite the fact the crew finished up at 450pm, right at the 3 hour mark. Don't think it's very customer friendly to not communicate an update on late arrival time and then suddenly request more time before the originally requested hours are up. Aside from that, the crew was very helpful in unloading our pod and getting everything in the house including a large couch that proved very difficult to fit through the door way.

  • This company ultimately got the job done, but I expected more based on past movers. Communication before the move was poor and I felt unease if anyone would arrive after getting an erroneous auto text. Then the movers did not show up at the agreed upon time, and I had to reach out to get an update. I was told they were 20 minutes behind, but they showed up 80 minutes late due to a prior move running late. That’s understandable, but the lack of communication was the real problem. You might have a good experience, but there would be less stressful options out there for your move day.

We had two pieces big old couches that have recliners built in with metal all inside, one of the main reason we booked moving help was for these items and just two of them handled them just fine. Another reason this company is getting this 5 star review from us is they were very considerate and helpful with rescheduling. We ended up having a medical emergency the day before we had them booked for originally, which ended up requiring an overnight hospital stay. This obviously messed up our moving timeline and when I spoke to them about it they were incredibly considerate and helped me change the move date easily. Thanks again home town movers!

  • I ordered 2 movers for 4 hours. Scheduled start time was 930. First mover arrives at 945, and dawdles until his partner shows up, 30 mins later. It is now almost 1030 before I see my belongings being loaded into my truck. After a half hour, the second late mover asks to use the bathroom.. taking another 10 mins. He used my bathroom 3 times in ‘4 hours’ which was closer to 3 at this point. The process to load my belongings was far slower than I’ve seen in the past. The movers encouraged us to take two trips.. on a UHaul I paid for mileage on. We did because we were assured we would have time. We drop the first load.. pushing everything in my garage and go back for a half of a second load. They load up my truck, and at 130 tell me.. ‘well our times up.. would you like us to make arrangements to stay and unload or are you able to unload yourselves’ we ended up finishing the job ourselves. Total waste of my money and time. Dont even know the guys names who helped. Wish i booked elsewhere

Then, movers were 1.5 hours late from the new time, so we ended up losing 3.5 hours total of moving time that day. Once they came, the actual movers were excellent, professional, and efficient, and got the job done. I think communication from the dispatch center could be improved.

  • We bought a couch at 7PM and my partner blew her back out loading it into the truck. We called the number in our U-Haul and they were SO kind. They showed up within 30 mins and got started. One piece of the couch was too long for the elevator and they brought it up the stairs for us and were still very kind. They got the job done under an hour and they kept us laughing the whole time.   • Whoever the manager is lacks customer service skills. He is rude and condescending. He calls to say the movers went over on another job. They were close to two hours late. No problem. Because of the language barrier we had to use a translator to communicate. Once the truck was loaded I get a call saying there two hours was up and they had to go to help a family member. The manager wanted to argue and tells me he will send two other guys almost two hours later. He then tells me how long I should have rented my truck. They are the worst! It’s to much to explain. The worst experience ever. I do not recommend them. They left me with a U-Haul full of items which some fell while driving 20 miles an hour. I tipped the movers because they did their best. Never again!

  • The company sent guys who had no knowledge on how to use a trolly, how to tie a strap, the guys sent accepted that they were provided With no training and they were left to learn on the ground, a 3 hour job took them 5 hours and I had to pay for the extra hours, the owner kept bugging me for the extra hour money but never cared to ask how was the service.

  • This crew was great! They were flexible with arrival time and had some of their own moving gear which made everything a breeze. They were very careful when handling my furniture, and I noticed little things like the supervisor audibly reminding the crew of clearances and obstructions as they moved things.

  • If I could give zero stars I would! This was the most horrible experience I've ever had with a moving company. They are swindlers. They charged me an extra $350. The 'owner' lied about what the extra charges would be for- extra gas, mileage (15 minutes) and use of a trailer (30.00). I would steer clear of this company. There are better, honest movers out there.

  • Two guys showed up and one complained the whole time he was tired and multiple times he stopped leaving his partner to do all the work. This made the job drag longer and made the working one of the two very frustrated. During the course of the move they mentioned many times of the fear of not being paid. We told them multiple times that we had already paid U-Haul. A few times they stopped and waited in their car wasting our time and their time waiting for an answer from the person that hired them. At the end of the night they wanted to charge us another hour and half. It took a while and having to call multiple times the person that hired them to finally get them to finish the job. What should have taken no more than 4 hours ended up taken almost another 2 extra hours because of unnecessary drama. Drama meaning attitudes of issues that had nothing to do with us as UHaul customers. Drama meaning lack of communication between hired personnel and contracted person of UHaul. Problems!!!

  • One guy had a real bad attitude and the other worked his ass off !! Don't complain about being a mover then flex saying you've been doing this for 20 years and then poorly pack my truck, talk shit to me under your breath, don't have any tools and then show up late to drop off!!!   • Avoid them at all costs. I hired them to help me unload my uhaul and their employee dropped my TV, absolutely destroying it. Instead of admitting to it or attempting to find some path towards resolution, the owner just completely ignored my complaint. Lesson learned in penny wise pound foolish. If you hire them record the entire process and be prepared to find something damaged that they will not admit to.

  • They were running late that morning, which is fine, but there was no communication about it. They were 45 minutes late when they finally returned my call and said they were 25 minutes away. It took another 45 minutes to arrive. Not very personable either, but once they arrived they completed the job efficiently. Overall not horrible but definitely room for improvement.

  • I was super grateful for how quickly they unloaded the truck however many boxes where places in my house upside down. Also, they didn't take time to organize the boxes by room, even though they were all labeled. On a side note, one of the movers was wearing pants that would not stay up. I mean, not even a little bit. I was seeing whole ass cheeks. Pretty unprofessional.

  • Wow! Did such a great job and went above and beyond to help. Had an issue of uhaul not having the truck I reserved and he went to a nearby U-Haul and hitched a trailer to his truck for us. I would have been lost without his extra help by doing this. (I had to move my dad from his apartment). A true life saver!!

  • It was a huge mistake to work with such irresponsible company! They broke my washing machine after coming LATE. the coordinator (who I was assigned to) did not communicate with the actual helpers so they did not have any idea what we were moving. the description says they bring tools with them, which I didn't see and the guy told me that coordinator didn't communicate properly!

  • This is the best moving experience I had. They helped come earlier than planned when another mover delayed by 2 hours. Still, they didn't overcharge me and did a fantastic job. When the uhaul truck was running out of space, Troy put the extra items into his own truck and helped me out. I'd highly recommend them.
