I had an appointment at 2pm on a Friday and there was no one present to help. The door was locked when I arrived 10 minutes early with a note stating they were "on site" and to call the number for assistance. When I called the lady working said she had went out to lunch and would be back. She was very rushed when she arrived and I was charged an insurance fee when I didn't want it.

The Property Mgr was great and took excellent care of us. She is one you do not want to ever lose from your staff and is why we keep using this location. The vehicle was ready, clean, and easy to pickup/return outside of normal hours which worked best for our situation. However, we did have a little hiccup with the online process not recognizing our stored account info so that had to be re-entered again during the pickup process. If your system doesn't communicate properly with a customer's account to recognize the stored info then why have the account? You need to fix this so repetitional entries are not needed. The only real negative side we have with U-Haul in general are the very high mileage costs and rental taxes. Mileage rates should be at or below the Federal rate which is 70 cents p/mile in 2025, not $1.29. Also, the rental taxes should never be above the State's rates which in our case we were charged 11 % and that is much higher than the Sales/Service/Use tax rates in NC. U-Haul used to be "the" rental company to go to at $19,99 p/day and no mileage costs or high rental rates. Now, it's double that and the customer is having to pay on top of that higher than normal mileage rates, cost of gas, and rental taxes. Customers should not be paying for U-Haul's cost of doing business, that is supposed to be absorbed by the business not the customer. U-Haul is our go to for moving but we'd really like to see the company do better in being a less expensive rental service provider to use.

My experience with Basic was great. Conda is organized,accommodating and friendly. If I ever have need of a storage unit in the future,it will definitely be this location.

My problem was, my phone with app,didn't have enough signal to verify my location, therfore wouldn't allow me to proceed!! Thank God for the locations emergency phone number...the lady that answered my call was very helpful. She pulled off the road to take care of my problem and she verified everything for and got me on my way!! THAT LADY SAVED THE DAY ! did I mention she was on her holiday and so very nice and understanding Uhaul should recognize this franchise !

The woman I spoke with to complete the rental that I had reserved a month before was Very helpful. I had not gotten any info that told me to "get the app" which I did not have. She helped me through the process and all ended well.

Very pleased! We do not have any comments for improvement at this time. The women who assisted us could not have been more friendly or helpful. The services were reasonably priced and although some of the equipment was older, there was full disclosure upfront of any nicks, dents or other issues. If the need arises, we would definitely use them again.

First had a reservation with another place near by at tobacco outlet got there 9am was guaranteed a truck and tow dolly wasn’t there guy didn’t know where it was just kept calling people telling me to wait after about 20 I found another place luckily they had what I needed

Provide more help. There was nobody there that could provide any real help with the tow dolly. I had to wrestle that dolly by hand myself across the lot, hitch it up, and get our car onto the dolly with essentially no help at all. Was absolutely exhausted by the time we got it done, before even starting the trip to Maine. Unacceptable, IMO.

Original rental was made on 3/15, to be 1 way 15' truck from Hendersonville, NC. A day after making reservation, I was contacted by traffic office in Hickory, NC and told there was no 15' unit available, but I could have a 20' for the same price. The day before I was to pick it up (3/25), I was again contacted and told that there was no 20' unit available but another location in Hendersonville MIGHT have a 26' truck available for a 1 way rental but they were already closed for the day and unable to be contacted. The rep I spoke with actually told me that I hadn't spoken to anyone at his office (I'd spoken to or been contacted by at least two ladies). He suggested another location in another town that was still open and suggested I call them. When I mentioned that might be something he should do as a service to a customer, he said that he didn't work in customer service, but that he could transfer my call to them and then they would likely just transfer me back to him. In that call and my other conversation with someone in the Hickory office, neither representative could tell me how the truck they were trying to rent to me was equipped (lift gate vs ramp, rails for load straps, etc?). I ended up having to pay for a round trip rental (fuel and mileage) because they couldn't guarantee that my reservation would be honored once I got to Hendersonville to pick the truck up. I rented the truck in Lincolnton and paid for the extra mileage because I didn't want to drive 80 miles to Hendersonville only to find out that there was no truck there either and then spend valuable time riding to another location to find a truck. All in all, my experience with the traffic office in Hickory was unsatisfactory. They need lessons in basic customer care and service.

Truck had a leak had a sheet of frozen ice that was no visible we loaded it went to unload and all couch cushions was dripping with water both matresses ruined . Key was also stuck in ignition at pick up no help yet on damaged or refund . Picked up truck in lincolnton at 8am had to return to mount holly at 3 pm due to first load damaged . Had to find a different truck company to finish moving still wet matresses and soaked couch cushions.. no help yet refund for truck still not refunded

Negative: What started out as $19,95 (as advertised on the side of the truck, ended up as $61,55 with only 31 miles use. A lot of money for a very small job. Positive: The truck was very clean and in great shape. The agent (Conda) did an excellent job and couldn't have been nicer. I'm afraid I held her up TOO long talking. I would definitely use this location again, although the cost would make me reluctant.
