No human present at check-in. It's all virtual. At first I thought the assistant was AI. There was a woman there who was taking care of the trucks. She was EXTREMELY helpful with the lock on the truck, and pleasant.

Grace MI had a pickup at 8:30am but the details of the pickup location showed it didn't open until 9am. I arrived on time to see if someone might be there, but the location was dark, so I waited. When no one showed up by 9am, I tried the doors to find they were open and there was a virtual assistant instead. I was not told about this option at all. The first truck I received had engine issues and didn't work. Even though there was another 15' truck onsite, they were unable to transfer me to another one and instead I had to move to a smaller truck size which ended up not fitting all of my things and meant I had to take multiple trips and thus pay for more miles. There was also not a utility dolly on site which I had reserved, which made the move more difficult. This whole experience made me never want to move myself by renting a U-Haul again, and I will likely choose professional movers over this option in the future.

Miranda DMy van and equipment wasn't available, even after I had called and confirmed only 30 minutes before I picked up. The mobile pickup was not intuitive. I needed to stay in the line with a U-Haul rep to get me through all the steps. I was lucky to connect with a rep later that day to remove the equipment costs from my charges. All in all, I hope i never rent from U-Haul again.
Le'alani BI can't believe that you're rented. me. A vehicle with no cruise control to drive 2400 km. It was one of the hardest drives of my life to have keep your foot on the gas pedal for that length of time. Unacceptable

James BThe midgard management staff were very helpful, this review has nothing to do with the staff members of the storage facility. When I received my keys to the rental the padlock was left unlocked, and the truck was also unlocked and the battery was completely dead. My girlfriend and I waited in the cold for over an hour for the roadside assistance to come, which severely delayed our moving day. The roadside assistance was very helpful and kind. Due to this delay we were unable to return our vehicle until 2 hours past our original return time. I believe we should receive a partial refund for the troubles we experienced during this pick up.
Quinn MIn order to get the van, I met with a person virtually. It worked ok, but I did not receive a contract at the pickup location. When I returned the van, I asked about the fuel level, and the online representative said it was on the contract that I had never seen. When he showed me the contract, the fuel level showed that it was 1/2 full, but my photo of the gauge shows it was under that level. The U-Haul location should be taking a photo of the fuel level instead of ripping people off with an inaccurate mark on the contract.

ELIZABETH SAutomated system is horribly broken for pickup and drop off and then I was advised I may be charged more then I was quoted due to inability to use the app. This is unacceptable. I have photos at pickup and drop off. It was cleaner when I returned it than when I received it. It had more fuel and had Zero Damage. Why would I be punished for not having the app?!?

Mary HPicking up was easy, returning was annoying. Having to photograph the U-Haul and do all the things that an employee should be paid to do is frustrating. It took an extra 20min to drop the truck due to this. I know minimum wage is high but I'm not an employee of U-Haul or this location. Ya welcome for the free labor
JADE CI would like someone to reach out to me, the alignment on the car was absolutely horrendous. Completely unsafe, felt like I was going to get in multiple different accidents. The entire time I drove it I was fighting the vehicle to stay even remotely straight. Without a doubt the worst and most unsafe vehicle I've ever driven.

Jeffrey BThe car had a broken side mirror. The equipment we reserved (dolly's etc.) were not in the vehicle when picked up. The lock box to get the key was jammed and it took us over an hour to get the lock open/keys unstuck from the lock box door. Very poor pick-up experience.

William TThis location is not staffed and it probably took me an extra 15 minutes to just get the app logged in. It would not work because my location services was not on. The truck was difficult to find on the property and they probably have the wrong. I never got the contract to study it and ended up being overcharged on the other end. Very disappointed.

Dan CIt was like an escape room to figure out how to pick up the rental. What a nightmare. There was no human present at the location. The virtual agents were no help and actually made the process more complicated. I really hated the entire experience and there were other customers there experiencing the same horror. The cup holder had a sticky substance all over it.
Fraser EYour system of utilizing Virtual checking out and returning equipment is the worst case of pathetic customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I guess making profit over loyal customer base is more important. I never felt so disrespected in a business. I also say the same attitude in other customers who seemed ever so frustrated in dealing with your system. I finally got helped out by a person who took care of my request in just a matter of moments.
Myron RHire a real person to check people in and out. Both tele-clerks gave me the wrong code to access my keys. The janitor knew the real code and got me in. Most uhaul check ins are messy but y'all are idiots if you think some herbs zooming in a check in will be better than the normal mess. Get right.

John WI feel that any customer moving in/moving out, should be told that you lock up your carts so they know they won't have that assistance if they are not there at a certain time/on a certain day. That's important to know so that they can have their own equipment.
pauline mNeeds better signage if using virtual host. If you are using lock boxes, have them together and as in my situation was told box 12. Well there was no box 12 the key was locked to the truck.the experience , it was slick but not smooth, very confusing for a first timer.

Donald PMy only issue was with the online pickup process. It was quite a hassle. The pictures shown of the vehicle did not always match the description. E.g. wrong side, or not showing whole area. I found several issues on the vehicle that didn't seem to be marked as pre-existing, so I spent a lot of time documenting them.
Shane RThe app is horrible. It's inefficient and glitchy. The equipment I rented was unavailable so I had to try to go to another location which didn't have it either. The truck I used has 0 suspension left and drove like it was having a seizure. Worst U-Haul I've ever had.

Sid AThe only real complaint I have about the service I received was that when I went into the office to pick up and drop off my vehicle, there were 2 in-person employees at the desk. When I came up to ask for service, I was prompted to go to a virtual assistant on a wall-mounted screen and another real person on the screen assisted me. It just felt very weird talking to a camera/screen about something I needed help with when there were 2 people physically there available to help.
