Amazing experience - If we can figure out a way to get the cost lower, that would be awesome

I made a reservation at a different installation location, but U-haul switched to this location without notifying me. Three days prior to the scheduled date I received a note from the new location that they were ready for the installation. I did not want to cancel this appointment, but it was at a location with ~1/2 hour additional drive time each way. Not the first time that an U-haul hitch installation was troublesome for me as 2 years ago I showed up at an appointed time for installation only to fine that the hitch had not been shipped. Only problem with the new installation was that the electrical connector was only routed to the trunk interior. Maybe this could not be routed to the exterior where the hitch is? No one talked to me about this.

While the staff were helpful overall, when hooking up the trailer the gentleman helping me lost control of the trailer. It struck the back of my car causing a noticeable dent and scraping the paint. He didn't say anything at all. I chose not to press the issue, but at least an apology would have been nice.

U-Haul saved us $500 installing and buying our hitch from them. Everywhere else wanted anywhere from $700-$800 for the hitch and installation. U-Haul is a great service provider for this bicycle receptor unit. Very very reasonably priced and honest. I highly highly recommend if you need a receptor installed on the back of your SUV or truck or car reach out to U-Haul. You will be amazed at how competitively they are priced.

I swear that all 3 of the individuals that were there when I went to Pick up the truck seem to just hate their jobs. Very little interest in customer service. I was given the key to the truck, then sent on a quest to find the truck myself , parked across the street. Of course, when I found the truck I could not get it out of the parking spot due to vehicles in front and behind. Another trip back across the street. No one in the building. finally someone showed up, walked across the street with me and moved the trailer blocking my exit. The truck ran terrible. Definitely needs at least a tune up. Then they had me drop the truck off at a DIFFERENT location in town.

The location I gave was "Average " due to parking, I know it wasn't due to customers being there at the time. I believe the employees were parked in customer spots. They need a bigger location or employees should park across the street with uhaul trailers.This is the Portage Rd location

This location was very impressive. As soon as I got out of the truck, a service person came right over and asked me if I was dropping the truck off. She said she was just finishing up another truck and I could just leave it where I had stopped. She was very pleasent and took the key. She said check my email for the receipt or if I needed one immediately it would be about 10 minutes. Outstanding customer service!

Check engine light was on at pick-up. 24/7 service was not straight forward - truck number was not where described, gas level incorrect, truck parked so drivers door could not be used to enter the vehicle - KEY WAS NOT IN THE LOCKBOX AFTER GOING THROUGH CHECK IN PROCESS! Won't go here again.

Just the opposite to my pick up location. Very pleasant, took the keys so I wouldn't have to wait while she attended to other customers. In and out quickly. Thank you. Will use that location again.

They rented me truck that had low oil, and the overhaul was stuck on. and i extended the rental much longer than i intended but they were rushing me to return it. It included 20 miles for the first day . i extended the rental and got no more miles included? not to mention, the final bill says 313 miles which is the total i used.. but was charged the whole 313- they never deducted the 20 miles i had included. and i know i filled it back up to 15/16 of a tank and i was charged for 6 gallons of gas.plus $50 for a cleaning fee?? i cleaned out all the trash and didnt leave any items in the uhaul. we live in michigan, mud and snow should be expected. it was nothing excessive enough for a $50 fee. worst experience w uhaul ever. i will never use this location again.

Wonderful customer service! I was notified the next morning about a found garage door opener left in the cab. The entire cab smelled like cigarettes though. If it had been an out of town/state trip, it would have been intolerable. Thankfully I only drove a total of about 20 miles.

Had to go back in three times cause first truck was blocked in couldn't get out and second truck was not starting finally got truck and wasn't even the one on my paperwork it was a joke and took me almost hour to pick up the truck. After my first reservation was transferred over there had to call back cause they said it was still showing the other uhaul location which closed a half hour earlier then they was supposed to preventing me from getting the truck. I will definitely not rent with uhaul again I'll figure something else out!

equipment wasent with vehicle at pick up. it took me 1 hour to complete the pick up. the touchless pick up is horrible. i was stuck outside untill someone responded to the problem on the app.

Offer pick up and delivery at customer residence! I have a license but not a car. I can't always find a ride to uhaul. Our sidewalks are not clear so I couldn't walk. Nice weather, no problem.

The amount of gas that was on the paper that they gave me was incorrect compared to the gas that was in the vehicle. There was less gas in the vehicle than the paperwork stated.. I did take a picture before I left the location so I knew exactly where to put the gas hand back at compared to the paperwork.

Have done business at this Kalamazoo location many times since early 80's. Reason I chose this location originally when I made online reservation, and again when contacted for 20 % discount, and yet again when I picked up trailer in WI. Odd that the drop-off information was still missing on this account after putting it in three times? Was not impressed that last Monday when I made the reservation, then the approval for 20 % discount - that I had chosen/and had confirmed trailer pickup in Janesville, yet I get frantic calls from UHall early morning 10Jan25 (day before pickup) that pickup location had changed and did I still want it!?! Clue: Nobody wants to have a reservation confirmed, 4 days later changed to a location 30 miles from final destination; especially when travelling 225 miles to pick it up. Totally unacceptable from corporate reservations! Location personnel were excellent, reservation process and communication really stunk - other than the 20 % discount, thanks.

Yes and no for the equipment. Truck performed okay with the exception of wiper blades. They worked well in town but on the highway the blades lifted up and did not clear the windsheild very well. Truck #DC 2214G

I have picked up two pickups from UHaul that had filthy digusting windows, and I mean every window. This last trucks windshield was so dirty I had to pull over and wipe the drivers side off so the glare from other cars wasn't making it difficult to drive! Plus the back window was even filthier!

I appreciate that we never experienced an issue with pests, insects or break-ins however, the outside of the facility could really use consistent cleaning. The amount of trash and debris that is always on the grass and in the parking lot is ridiculous and looks very unwelcoming.

Mark is the man! he has a great group of people he works with I most say thank you so much for all he do there good guy Mark But the truck I got from here had Bedbugs and Roaches on it! They say I could wich it out for Different one but I had already put my things on the 26 truck and it was hot and raining too! Now I have pay to kill them before I move my stuff! I DIDNT HAVE ANY BEDBUGS or ROACHES before I got this 26 truck! So now I will have to pay a Exterminator to get rid for them when I moved into the place. Because I know I got them Now!

I always rent from here and they are very helpful with getting a truck! But this time the truck had bedbugs with Roaches all Waiting on us. Now I have to boom befor I can move my things in I let them know what was on the truck but at that point I had the truck more then 4/3 the way full on a 26 footed and very hot out too so I couldn't change it out for Different track at this point I was mess up and I had it for two day trying to move And now with bedbugs and roaches I didn't have befor I rented a truck 

Best Uhaul experience I've ever had. Jasmine especially and her crew was sensational consistently whether I got a storage space or truck. If you had undercover boss you'd probably promote her to the top and with max benefits, and she'd be an example for the entire Uhaul system .

This is the first time I have received such great service since I can remember. Especially when I was ready to quit using U-Haul because of the rude male I spoke with in Arizona several weeks ago. Jasmine has old school integrity and service, 1st I've seen in her generation. She is assistant manager in Kalamazoo. Great staff on Portage Rd.

This is a pretty good place to do buisness as long as you stay in touch with them they are very easy to work with. The only thing that I had an issue with at first was finding the number for the actual Uhaul Service center and Storage Facility that I was working with. I recommend that you ask for their direct number when you are in the facility filling out paperwork so that you do not have to go through the corporate phone tree and answering service which by the way is not very helpful and has proved to be very frustrating compared to working directly with the on site staff members.

We had an outstanding experience with the U-Haul. We were coming from three hours out of town and hit construction which put us behind our scheduled pick up time. During a busy moving season in a college town, the staff was kind enough to move our pickup and return time to ensure we had adequate time for our move. Pick up was smooth, the staff helpful and friendly. There was different staff on duty when we returned the trailer and moved into the storage unit but the service was the same, top notch. Kind, patient, helpful and had a great sense of humor. Would highly recommend U-Haul Moving and Storage of Kalamazoo (1004 Portage Street Kalamazoo, MI).

Filthy ruined my couch nice did chew through walls from other units into mine pooed peed all over my furniture will never come to uhaul again will not recommend this uhaul to anyone unless they want to ruined their property and while pandemic ragged uhaul did not care 8 % unemployment was crippling people's life's uhaul wanted their money greed careless company good day

The manager was polite and trying very hard to efficiently handle the folks in the queue waiting for service. Unfortunately, he opted to try to handle two customers simultaneously at two registers. This slowed down the process and was frustrating when it was finally your turn.

This was the worst experience ever!! We tried to store our things here but the units we were rented were locked and no one had a key. No one knew what was going on while we had PAID movers to help!!

It's a perfect place storing your stuff and it takes the worry off your mind that nothing will happen to your stuff but the smaller units could be cheaper like the one I had cost too much money
