At the Beaton garage in Port Hood they were very helpful. They tested my lights and checked the air in the trailer tires. They also helped put it on my hitch . When I returned the trailer they helped and to take it off my truck. Great service
Bob MUsed app to check out. Due to cell signal limits it was difficult uploading images. Had to do multiple times. Came back error this took awhile and wasn't sure my close out was accurate. One more issue I converted the imperial to metric measurements and couldn't convert back to imperial. This showed inaccurate mileage. I finally figured it out but it took quite a bit of time. I hope it was received properly because it showed I travelled 59 000 kms. When in fact it was 350 kms
Steve LThe link provided to upload pictures showing condition of rental when picking up expires too soon. Another link was provided but that never worked as it was already expired when opened. There is no warning that the link has a time limit. Other then that everything went smoothly.

PATRICK TGreat experience, smooth and effortless. Wanted a trailer to pick up a new couch, much cheaper than delivery and the trailer helped keep the couch clean and safe in transport. The low deck height of trailer made ir easier than trying to lift of a truck.
Roderick MThis location was great. The worker at this location was very helpful and hitched up the trailer. Scheduling is where my nightmare began. I was called the day before my pickup and was told that my pickup location had changed. This meant that I had to drive an hour and a half out of the way the morning I had people at my house waiting to load my truck. I also had my truck that I rented to a larger model. Which for my case isn't a bonus as this used more gas on my drive across the country. I wasn't given the furniture dolly or furniture pads at pickup. Scheduling said there was no other options if I wanted a truck.
Owen BThe location is excellent and the equipment is great and very clean. I was not going to submit a review, but since you keep asking me I will say something here. This was the second time I used your service. As in the first time I was not given the same equipment I had asked for. This time I asked for a 10 foot truck with a tow dolly. I was then offered a 20 foot truck with a car transport. The 10 foot truck was already bigger than I needed. I could not possibly turn a 20 foot truck and car transport around, or back it out onto a busy street from the small area I had to load it in. I was forced to search for a 10 foot truck an hour and a half in the wrong direction. There was no option for me to get anything to tow my car at that location. I ended up driving the truck to my new address, then driving 8 hours round trip to go get my car and bring it to the new location. As a senior on a low income, this extra amount of money for gas for the truck and then my car is a hardship for me. Shame on you U-Haul for not having the equipment available on the date of the move that the customer reserved well in advance. This practice of giving out equipment to the first in line, and leaving others with equipment that doesn't work for them on an already stressful day needs to stop!
Carrie MJust another odd place to drop off a rental vehicle. Just not a place that would typically rent vehicles. It doesn't represent what U-Haul is all about, but if that's your business model then so be it. Good luck!

Zachary CThe truck I rented 26 foot box, I was advised by the USA call centre would get 10 miles per gallon, we drove very very carefully to conserve fuel and we only got 5 miles per gallon. I asked for a partial refund and the USA call centreadvised this was up to the local dealer which is nonsense UHAUL owns and maintains the vehicles..I would really think twice before renting from uhaul as they have NO service, they defer to the local location which in this case has nothing to do with the problem. VERY VERY POOR ownership model that UHAUL refuses to own their problems.
NEAL LWhen received the final total for payment, was higher than on receipt. When I called was told cannot help as contract was closed and I have to call UHaul to get my money back.
Philip CTail lights did not function properly when I arrived, had to wait until repaired.
bertie aDue to vacation/illness the attendant at station wasn't certified to release the truck and we had talk on the phone with a rep for 20 mins. It was probably a unique situation. It all worked out.

Brian IEquipment needs to be inspected more often. This is the second time I went to the location and the trailers were not road ready.
Damian MI had the go ahead to store the trailer at the Uhaul yard in Dartmouth from an agent on the phone for overnight but was turned away when I tried to park it. The place I was staying had no driveway or curb parking this caused a great deal of last min. greef

Luke WIt's amazing how companies want to hear feedback from you, unless you need money refunded. Then no reply, so typical. I received my invoice and then a link if there was an issue, I filled it out as I was improperly charged and of course, no response!

Heather HGo visit this location. Yuck. Dangerous. I had to walk through a filthy garage with jacked up vehicles on either side of me. It was dangerous abd uncomfortable and filthy. The guy had no clue what he was doing.
goldie bOriginally booked trailer from Digby to Chéticamp. The drop off location online said Baddeck was the closest location. After arriving in Chéticamp I called the Baddeck location and found out they had stopped Uhaul services and were no longer a drop off location. I called DF Beaton Service center and they gave me a contact number for Uhaul to sort the problem out. A couple mins on the phone and got the Drop off location changed to Port hood, which wasnt to far out of the way. 24/7 drop off was very convenient!

David CThis was my first uhaul rental. It was TERRIBLE!! First there were none avail in my location after telling me there were. I had to drive over 2 hrs to pick one up. Got there for 1030am.... rented it out night before and had to wait till after 1 pm before it came back. I could have been back home and loading up. It cost me 95 dlars to fill it when I picked it up and by the time I got home the 2,5 hrs it qas on half a tank. Customer service were very friendly and when I dropped it off they were great but the overall booking is very unorganized. Should be revamped for sure. Driving the uhaul was much easier than I expected
crystal sThis location is quite a far distance from my home, an hours drive. So not convenient. Also the computer system was down and so I had to do the check in on my phone using my data and the wifi was really poor. This took me over 30 minutes to do. And there was a crack in the windshield of the truck and I was worried to be charged for this. This should have been noted somewhere and acknowledged. The plus was the owner And staff of the garage were extremely friendly and helpful. I feel the deficits of my experience don't reflect on them.

Brenda RI rented a 26 foot truck online one week before pick up date. I was given a smaller truck and trailer day of pick up which did not suit my needs. I understand the policy of first come first serve however the whole point of pre booking was to make sure i had large enough truck.

brian bApent 2 hours on the phone juat to find a uhaul location, this was the only one around they told me. When i got there they said there were many locations. Had to spend a good 30 minutes on the phone at the garage to find out nothing was bookes properly, even had a made up email address on my profile etc. The trail had a lot of rust on it, wasnt able to get the straps out of the ratchets when i reaches the drop off location for the car, had to soak the ratchets in penetrating grease overnight. Was a struggle but managed to get the straps free.

Coline CMy pick up time was booked for 1630. When I arrived there wasn't any staffed trained for uhaul. They called someone who was 20 minutes away. Just then the owner arrived but he was busy doing something else. After 20 minutes, I was told trained staff member was stuck in construction. Meantime the owner who was trained left. I waited another 15 minutes and the owner called to notify that Uhaul would call the site and take my payment over the phone. The phone was in the garage office with no privacy. Everyone could hear my conversation. It was difficult to hear because of the busy office. The person on the phone had to repeat several times. Very unprofessional experience.
