WE WERE UNJUSTLY CHARGED FOR ADDITIONAL MILEAGE AFTER U-HAUL MOVED OUR PICK-UP LOCATION FROM TALLAHASSEE TO BAINBRIDGE GEORGIA THEN ALTERED WHERE WE HAD TO DROP OFF. We have used U-Haul many times and this experience went beyond the pale as far as guarantees, customer service, additional charges, costs and time incurred. Not only is the additional mileage charge not acceptable, I believe U-Haul should refund a portion of our fees as compensation for the additional time, mileage and inconvenience we incurred as a result of U-Haul not meeting its obligation / honoring its reservation. First, we originally booked our U-Haul Reservation on 06/21/2025 for pick-up in Tallahassee Florida on 06/28/25. Our original pick-up location was 2401 Barcelona Lane in Tallahassee. Reservation #: 79563729 Requested Pick Up Location: StorQuest Self Storage Tallahassee/Southwood 2401 Barcelona Ln Tallahassee, FL 32311 Pick Up Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 9:30 AM Drop Off Date: Monday, June 30, 2025 Equipment: 20' Truck On the day before pick-up (Friday, 6/27), U-Haul called and emailed that they needed to update our pick-up location to Mike's Rims and Wheels, that a 20 foot wasn't available, so they were providing a 26' Truck. Order Number: 79563729 Dear Douglas Miller, An update to your order has been made. We have a 26' Moving Van reserved for you and guaranteed Saturday, 6/28/2025 at 9:30 AM. We were told by U-Haul that there were NO TRUCKS AVAILABLE in Tallahassee anywhere - not a 26', not a 20' not even a 15' "everything in Tallahassee is red." We were advised that our ONLY and nearest option would be to drive from Tallahassee to Bainbridge, Georgia to pick up a truck. We didn't have a choice as our daughter's Tallahassee apartment lease had expired and she needed to be out that day (June 28). Then of course there were the additional miles driving from Bainbridge, to Tallahassee, to Panama City Beach. We were told not to choose a drop off location when making the original reservation because it didn't populate as an option so that we could drop off at 17615 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach, Florida which is less than a mile from Extra Space Storage where we were taking moving items. When trying to drop off - remote drop off was not accepted and so we called and were told we had to drive over to 1000 W 15th Street, Panama City, Florida to drop off. This added an addition 15 miles to our drive. Therefore, not only is the additional mileage charge of $7,4 unacceptable, we strongly believe U-Haul should provide a partial refund as compensation for the comedy of errors this experience was.

I spoke to the location manager (John) the day before my rental to confirm that it would be ready when I arrived at 7:30 am. He confirmed that it would be and said he would be there to meet me. When I arrived at 7:30, he was not there. The truck was there and unlocked, but the key was not in the lockbox like the app said it was supposed to be. The moving blankets and dollies I reserved were also not in the back of the truck. I spent the next 1,5 hours trying to contact John, but he never answered the phone. I spoke to multiple representatives from customer service and the area manager, but was told that there was nothing they could do since he (John) had the only key. By a miracle, I found the key under the driver's seat at 9:30 am and finally left with the vehicle. However, I still never received the blankets or dollies. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company the size of U-Haul, and I cannot imagine that this lack of service and professionalism is acceptable to the corporate leadership. Not only should I not be charged for the blankets and dollies, but I was almost two hours late leaving with the truck and had a team of volunteers waiting for me this entire time. I believe I should receive at least a partial refund on the rental amount as well.

The location was just fine However I wouldn't recommend U haul to nobody I got over charged on my daily rental and had a bunch of bullshit ass charges on my bill BTW Can anyone tell me what a vehicle license recovery fee is or a Env.fee and here's a good one safe trip coverage. That's all a bunch of bullshit and yall are robbing ppl Shane on yall YOU SUCK

However, the gas was put be being between a half & 3/4 tank when it was only a half tank exactly. Also, the hidden fees are ridiculous

Building was nasty, not very helpful when the trailer was the wrong one. Uhaul had issues half way through our trip.

I needed the truck to move 3 items. I drove less than 10 miles I informed them of that beforei used it. I left more gas than when I got it. I was charged $15 for Safe Move insurance. I specifically said I needed nothing added before I rented. I explained a previous bad experience with another uhaul place in this town who did the same thing and more. This seems to be a company wide issue. Is that how you train your people? Telling me it will take 3 to 5 days to return this money is unacceptable. It only took seconds to take it. I will do everything in my power to never have to use uhaul again. I will also use my radio show to talk about this experience. You are more than welcome to provide me with your response and I will gladly share that with my listeners.

Nothing the Representative was friendly and courteous and honest will definitely recommend anyone to that location and to the Representative! Will use U haul for all my moving.

When I got to this location 15 mins early no one was there. I waited until 9 to called for my schedule pick-up. I then had to wait and additional hr going back and forth with the uhaul company to rent my truck and then was charged extra for the time difference that I sat in the parking lot. Extremely disappointed. Moving is stressful enough as it is and we should have never encountered this problem
