Had the return location changed two times, last time without approval. I selected return location in my town (campbell river) which was on the original reservation, when I picked up the trailer they told me it was going to be black creed instead (25min drive) which was not ideal but I agreed. 2 days before my return they sent me a message stating that the new drop off location was in courtney (45min drive + 45min drive back) which made me spend much more time and gas than planned. No one asked me, I never agreed in this.. I arrived to the location which was a bit hard to find, space was crowded, managed to tow the trailer all the way to the back which was the inly available place with a very reduced space.

I received it with a 1/2 tank and returned it with a 1/2 tank and they charged me $15 at the return location. pick up location was quick and good, truck was decently clean, return was location was not so great do to the rip off. please contact me to return my $15

We ordered a 20' truck and when we got it to the house we realized it was only 15'. Nobody notified us of the change. It was not big enough for our move and we ended up having to make the 6 hour round trip again with another vehicle, costing us a significant amount of time and fuel. When we called, the representative said the system wouldn't allow her to do much to help our situation. The location was fine, but our experience with U-Haul was poor.

No sign on the door saying they dont keep their trailers there. Call all the phone numbers online and on the business and it all goes to a fax machine. No one can get ahold of the owner. Sat at this location for over an hour in the baking hot sun. HORRIBLE experience. Even head office struggled to find solutions. All the reviews online of this place is correct. Absolutely worst service I have ever experienced. Shameful.

After all the trouble I experienced. I would not recommend uhaul to anyone. If you can't give me the equipment I reserved to let me know sooner than the 24 notice that I received. Your poor service will cost me an extra $900 to $1000 to return to Courtenay to get the rest of my things. I am so not impressed. I will be filling a formal complaint to your Customer service department. Randall

Uhaul should have a larger premises for this drop off location with lack of employees and front desk to finalize product usage. The office is in another location.

Absolutely unsatisfactory service for which I was also overcharged!! I placed an online order for a trailer and dolly (Order #: 70716230), and I was supposed to pick them up at the location specified in the order - 3170B Island Hwy S, Courtenay, BC V9N2L7. When I arrived, there was no trailer there, and I was told I had to drive to another address - 1049 McPhee Ave, Courtenay. I had no choice but to go there. When I said I had ordered a dolly along with the trailer and wanted to pick it up, I was told that they didn't have a dolly at that location and I would need to return to 3170B Island Hwy S, Courtenay. These additional trips significantly reduced my available rental time and led to extra fuel costs. Despite these "adventures," I returned the trailer and dolly on time. When I received the bill, I was very surprised, because instead of $34 (24+10), I was charged $44, even though I did not select insurance during the rental process!

Rental trailer and experience was good. Some comments: - The trailer signal lights were backwards. - The 12 moving blanket were a tad moist from not being in climate controlled storage. Smelled a little moldy. Otherwise all good. I'd rent U-Haul again for sure.

The mobile process was ok, but I think the locks need to be looked at because they did not come off like the video. We had to play around with them a bit to get it to open. Other than that the truck was there for pick up and was in good condition.

What I wouldn't recommend is U-Haul!!!! I had to change my pick up time from 6am to 8am. I went in changed it requested mobile pick up. Everything seemed fine I got a text notification saying it had been changed location but at 8am perfect. Get there 8am...no truck out and not open until 10am. Call U-Haul oh we are sorry looks like it was manually changed because that location isn't open at 8am. Didn't you get an email? No, no idid not get an email Karen or I wouldn't be here at 8am paying movers for 2 hrs to drink coffee!!!! Ok, so is there another truck location in town open at 8? Or 8:30? Oh yes there is! Ok perfect whats the address....it's in Powell River!! Pardon me? Powell River is a 2hr $200 ferry ride one way!!! That doesn't work for me!! Click, hung up on. Call back extremely frustrated at this point told I will be transferred to sales Dept....get disconnected. Call back get told same thing as first call even though I had already gone through said story. Last lady tries her best then tells me all she can do is leave a note for management and one on my file and they will call me on Mon!!!! I sent a note to the place I was picking up from saying what was wrong. At 9:30 received a call from staff saying he saw my note and to come right away he was getting my truck!! Awesome man!! Last time I rented from U-Haul I was charged twice and it took 6 weeks to get my money back!! Never again U-Haul, no more chances.

The online booking process was an unmitigated disaster. The person at this location spent an hour with me on the phone to help salvage my booking and not make my planned day turn into a complete waste.

Ensure the truck is full of fuel and warn customers the trucks leak when it's rainy out

The truck was extremely dirty so I couldn't do a proper assessement of the outside. There was no room around it for me to do a proper inspection so I had to go to a seperate parking lot to be able to do a walk around. The dollies were soiled and the inside of the truck was dirty and smelled extremely of mold. The truck clearly needs and aligment since it pulls right, there was an O2 check engine which made the fuel consuption worst. When I returned it, I struggled to park it since the allowed parking were very small and personnal vehicles were in the way. The only good thing was the service of the man who gave me the keys, he was polite and explained it properly.

This was the best experience I have had by far with uhaul in the Courtenay area. The man that checked me in and setup the rental was fast and efficient and had everything ready to go. It made our move one of the best we've had. I also had to drop off the vehicle before they opened and the lady on the phone for customer service was also really great. Thank you !!!

Reservation was bounced to another location that did not have the correct size truck or the requested pickup time, causing us to have to pay for 2 days rather than 1. They did not have the moving blankets we ordered. Reverse lights were out in truck, there was a leak in the roof of the truck that damaged some or our furniture. The guy working there was rather rude and did not do anything to solve any of the problems UHAUL created. Would not recommend. Paid $300 for a massive pain in the ass.

The office state is deplorable but a less worse (not better!) alternative to the horribly reviewed McPhee location I was signatovrly overcharged and now need to complete a billing dispute. There was no guarantee the truck we booked weeks in advance would be available Very challenging experience

The service rep asked my friend for a assurance On me. I have never been asked for or needed that to rent a trailer ever . When I asked I was told it was always required. Even though I had rented at this location before….weird!

This location is sub standard at best. There are no supplies available and the office is a tablet on top of a bunch of boxes, inside another business. The only reason I rented there is that it's the only location around. The return location is not the same as the pick location and it's dark and difficult to maneuver in the parking lot. I must say it's not the first time I've rented there and that things have only gotten worse over the years. That aside Glen the attendant at the time of pickup was friendly and very helpful.

Shop was cluttered and not well maintained. Not professional in the least . I was not asked about additional equipment rental or whether or not I wanted extra insurance but was charged anyway. I will never rent from U-Haul again. I felt ripped off and very ill treated.

Be honest about conditions of rental. The agent told me that if I returned the trailer early I would get a refund for the days I did not use the trailer. When I dropped the trailer off at the destination location I was told the information I was given at the pick up location was not correct. Sid Bennett (780) 604-0466.

The truck had a electrical problem and the tires were almost completely bald , and hostile behaviour from owner when I asked him for my receipt for the rental I will not rent from this outlet again

Provide the trailer I reserved on the day I reserved it in the location I reserved it. . I had a smaller trailer and couldn't take a truck as I was moving my car. It was a long distance move and not having the trailer on the day and at the location caused additional personal cost for a hotel in another town so I could pick up the trailer. I had to problem solve by changing plans and had to rely on my helpers to change their plans.
