john mThe Indian gentleman at the counter was rude. I was moving across country and paid for U-Haul insurance. I got stuck in Pennsylvania on my way to Washington state and had to pay out-of-pocket to tow the U-Haul back home. Thinking of suing honestly. Horribly cheap service!!!

Richard HI left CT and drove straight through Hell to emerge in Kansas. The vehicle I was provided with should not even be on the road. Over 50 000 miles with a large number of defects - steering wheel had about 45 degrees of free play (had to fight the truck direction all the way), the throttle had a surge in it and once it started surging I had slow down to about 50 mph to get it to stop meaning it was nearly impossible to use the cruise control. The brakes were borderline useless (I needed to practically stand up on the brake pedal to get the truck to stop in any reasonable distance). Worst of all the truck rode like a lumber wagon with busted springs (Gentle Ride Van - my ASS!) MY furniture was badly damaged in several cases. The bouncing of the truck did a great deal of damage. ANYBODY WHO RENTS A 26 FOOT TRCUK FROM THESE PEOPLE IS CRAZY UNLESS THEY LET YOU TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE!!! I told the people at the drop off point about the issues and suggested that make corrections before they rented it again but I doubt anything was corrected. Somebody is going to die in this truck if it is not repaired.

STEVEN RThe equipment was frozen and dirty. The attendant did not check the trailer hitch or connect the trailer we had to do it ourselves, and to top it off he charged my card twice and im still waiting to be refunded. Never will use uhaul again very bad experience.

SAMUEL BI asked for a Norwalk pickup, and was told that Durham was my only choice. It took me an hour to drive there, and 2 hours back in traffic as I wasn't allowed to use the Merrit Parkway.
Andrew LThe tongue of the trailer was very heavy and difficult to position it on the ball. A trailer jack would have been a big help and should be installed on the 6*12 trailer.

Andrew TActually getting the trailer was the problem. I was told by the main U-Haul number that there were no trailers to match my need two days before my departure across the country. I was told that there were none in my state or the surrounding states around me. I had someone else call the main U-Haul number end they spoke to a gentleman named Greg who was able to find a trailer for me in Durham Connecticut. I feel that the scheduling department did not compromise with me to find a trailer or change my equipment for no additional cost. I made my reservation a month in advance and figured that U Haul would have accommodated the customer or at least did a little more digging to find a trailer to fit my needs. Once the reservation was made successfully and the trailer was secured my U-Haul experience was great.
Kyle BThe Quick Stop location was excellent for picking up my truck on an early, cold morning. The fellow working there got me checked in with keys to the truck and furniture pads I had rented very quickly, and then he kindly lent me an ice scraper to get all the snow/ice off the truck as it had unexpectedly snowed the day before. Would absolutely use this location again.

PAUL MI was not offered help to verify signals or hookup. I went in and request assistance, a young man did help. I will say that every time I get a quote online, the order ends up more in person.
Charles PThe reservation process was poor. I did not like that I selected a location to pick up my trailer and had to pick it up at another location. I was notified two days in advance of my rental. Would have picked another location.
Paul SI have rented many Uhaul's from nearby area locations over the last couple of years. I have never had a bad experience until today which was the first time I rented from The Quickstop Durham, CT location. The "gentlemen" who owns the place would not take back the truck when I went to return it because he said it was dirty. There is usually a $25 fee to clean the truck if it's dirty which I would happily pay, but he wouldn't allow it. I took the truck home and swept it out, which literally took 5 minutes. Then I called him to come pick the truck up because I had no way of bringing it back again. He told me he doesn't allow that and then hung up on me. I called upper management to complain they told me he called them to tell them that I did not want to pay the $25 cleaning fee and I chose to take the truck home and clean it which was a complete and utter lie. This location should be shut down from Uhaul. I see many poor reviews about this location online.
SCOTT SThe truck was dirty and the tank had less fuel than indicated by the proprietor. The location was also out of the way.
Paul HI discovered upon arriving at my loading destination, that the truck loading ramp was missing the hooks to latch it to the cargo bed. It made loading and unloading with the ramp difficult. Upon returning to the rental location, I discovered that the missing hooks were under the drivers seat. I notified the business owner and he was unaware of this issue.

Bo KEverything was easy: signing up and making a reservation online, speaking to a representative on site, checking in and out, and using the equipment. I put in a reservation for a trailer the night before, and it was waiting for us in the morning when we arrived. Our car is equipped for a trailer, so it was an easy setup for us. I am quite satisfied with the whole process. One thing to consider: the service is out of a convenience store, so don't expect a full UHaul location. It was perfect for me since I live nearby in Durham. Recommandé.
Camilla ZDrop off location was not the one I asked for. This drop off was listed on my contract and I was surprised that it wasn't what I had asked for. Controversy arose when I tried to extend the contact by one day after I was told I could do so.
Howard Sthe U-haul app is terrible. mobile pickup did not work. This location had terrible mobile service. In addition, I got a $10 fee for paying for my u-haul with my credit card and the owner lied about how full the gas tank was. Biggest Rip-Off! never again!

JOE DMy reservation was made for Colchester, CT the night before. Upon arrival, I was told that the Colchester location didn't even have the type of vehicle I had reserved and that they didn't have any information about my reservation. I waited on hold for 58 minutes with uhaul with no answer, and infuriatingly the call was ended (not by me), and I drove an extra 25 miles to Durham to pick up my cargo van. I will not be using Uhaul again, as there is zero communication between the company and the franchise and the website does not make reservations that can be carried out.
