My chosen drop location in Gunnison was open until 5p, making it possible to drop the day of the move and be received by UHaul staff. The alternate location chosen by UHaul closed at 1pm, and was nearly a 90 minute drive (each way) from my chosen drop city, forcing a cumbersome after-hours drop, and costing us nearly 3 hours of time on move day. We got a message from UHaul to call a number on arrival at this alternate drop location. There was no answer at that number, so we had to do an after hours drop.

David was extremely helpful who helped me. However, there was a glitch with the system and I could not pick up my vehicle, this process was very frustrating and took 2 hours! There needs to be a way to rent with the system is down.

It was fine. We did after hour drop off. The parking lot was extremely rocky so I kept my car to the side while we parked the U-Haul. When I was doing the check out on the app, it closed out on me in the final step so it was unclear if it had properly gone through. I'm not sure if this had to do with a lack of service in this location, but it was not ideal.

I dispute the fuel return levels. They were exactly 7/16 tank, certainly not below 3/8 as the new employee marked. I was then charged 5 gallons.

Had some unexpected charges at the end that I probably will dispute with my credit card company as soon as they clear. I returned the fuel at the level it was given to me was still charged for 5 extra gallons. And there was another charge I'm still not sure why I was charged. I probably will use Penske next time I need to use a moving truck or recommend them to anyone needing a truck over uhaul.

It is just a rocky lot to drop off rental equipment. No one was there when I arrived and only showed as I was leaving because another customer had arrived to pick up a truck.

Umm...this is a muddy lot off the highway with an orange box for keys. I didn't see any people (during open hours) and nothing looking like an office -- unless someone works out of the station wagon parked there. No signage or anything.

This location was farther out of town than I should've been required to go. I would have chosen a closer location had I been given the option. This is a gravel lot with no office or staff on-site unless an appointment is made, and I was not given a phone number to contact them when this location was assigned to me without my consent. To make an appointment, I was required to download the U-haul app. After I used Google to find the phone number to the local office connected with this vacant lot, the staff member I spoke with was not compassionate to my frustrations to this point, interrupted me and gave me a state corporate phone number to call as I was asking for help to unhook the trailer or about dropping off at a different location with staff onsite. I am very dissatisfied with this rental experience and will likely try another rental agency the next time I need to rent a truck or trailer.

everything was great, price was accurate with no surprises and the service was quick and friendly - the only issue was the lot the trucks were stored in, I recommend parking on the side of the road and walk in - the lot is very rocky and rough, and my car hit bottom on the first bump going into the lot -

The staff at this location were friendly and professional. This location is inconvenient for customers. The customer is required to check in at one location then drive to a separate location to pick up equipment. This fact is not disclosed when reserving equipment. The location where the equipment is stored, is in a dirt and rock lot which is poorly maintained. It was muddy and rutted and contained large rocks which are too large for a driveway or parking lot. Also, the gate access is narrow when considering towing large rental equipment.

Extremely helpful when turning in the rental vehicle, a 20ft moving van. The process was quick and easy and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service. I would absolutely recommend this location to friends and family.

I rented this 20ft truck in Montrose for a one way move from Ridgway, CO to Hotchkiss, CO. Be prepared to be shortchanged on your allotted miles. Nobody offered to pay me for the extra miles it took me to drive from the actual location of the truck to the office where the paperwork had to be done.

The mud lot was not manned and there is no signage to help customers know they have to travel 2 miles away to actually talk to someone. Equipment is parked in the weeds and when I dropped off the trailer I almost got stuck in the mud. Because it was not manned I ended up waiting about 40 minutes for someone to show up and it seemed they only did because I called customer service.

We had to go to one location to fill out paperwork and pay, and then drive to another location to get the full auto trailer., which was very small and hard to get in and out of. The gentleman, although nice, didn't hook the rack up properly which caused me to be an hour late getting back to my town and loading. Very inconvenient all around.

Someone should meet you at the lot and hook the trailer up. I'm 76 yrs old and the guy said I was supposed to do it myself. He said if I went back to the office Someone would hook it up for me but it would cost $20 cash!!I went back and the same guy hooked my car onto the trailer and I had to pay him!

Location was very good for us but the drop off storage area is a small field that is very uneven and rocky. It appears to be n the process of being leveled.

Montrose U-Haul employee gave me incorrect directions to pick up yard.Make sure that the U-haul employee returns your drivers license after signing rental agreement. Montrose U-Haul employee forgot to give my license back to me but did call and drive to my location. 45 minutes waiting. Montrose U-Haul lot was very rocky and difficult to drive through and get in and out of.

Met the guy in a field and it took over 30 minutes before I could drive away. They guy said that Uhaul has great trucks but there software sucks. Plus, when I got into the truck after the long delay, it only had 1/4 of gas. This was frustrating to need to go fill it up before I moved.

These guys are Awesome! First time renting a trailer for myself and forgot to install a 4 flat plug for the hitch. David was very understanding and even offered to come by after hours to complete our contract after i had gotten everything out. His patience was very much appreciated! 10/10 I would recommend renting from this location.

There was a lot of confusion over my final contract as we added a dolly when we arrived to pick up the truck. The office lady put it on con and charged me for so this took 30 minutes to just do this. Then we spent another 30 minutes out at the lot while the boss tried to charge us again for a dolly and then said we got a free dolly use yet we had already paid back at the office!!! It should not take an hour to rent a reservation vehicle of any kind!

DAVID WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MEET OUR NEEDS LOCALLY WHEN THE 1-800 UHAUL PEOPLE WERE GIVING US PICK UP LOCATIONS 300MILES IN THE WRONG DIRECTION !!! NOT HELPFUL. UHAUL NEEDS TO DIRECT CALLS TO LOCAL DEALERS, NOT GIVE BAD AND INACCURATE INFORMATION TO CUSTOMERS!

All representatives were pleasant. (thanks!) The truck was fairly new, but the cab was dirty. The main challenge was online scheduling. A 10 ft. U-haul for a local move was reserved to be picked up in Montrose, but the confirmation said we had to get the U-haul in Grand Junction, a 120-mile-round-trip ($ 0,79 per mile charge = $94,8 for mileage just to get the truck.) After reserving with another company, then finding a Montrose U-haul truck, other pick-up locations were messed up.

Make sure everything works on anything you are trying to rent to someone. Our light was out and we had to buy the hook ups for the truck that was pulling it. With the amount of money we spent that we shouldn't of had to worry if the cops were going to pull us over and give us a ticket.

We were charged a $25 cleaning fee. The inside of the truck was completely cleaned out. The outside had some frozen snow and road dirt from crossing the country. Historically, we have not been charge for road dirt, is this something new?

Having to run across HW 550 isn't ideal, but I get that parking near private property can be hard. The gentleman that did the check-in was very helpful, though.

It was a dirt field. No office with a sign and a drop box. No space to turn around 27 ft truck and trailer. Had a phone number to call when dropping off. I called multiple times with no answer. The truck and trailer sat for 2 days with no one watching. Trailer had no lock. What if someone stole? Would I be liable. Since no one answered the phone I called UHaul help line, was transferred multiple time to "supervisors" until one got snotty with me and hung up on me. Last time I ever use U-Haul.
