JIRIAM MI wanted to share some feedback regarding our recent U-Haul rental experience, which unfortunately was quite disappointing. We initially contacted U-Haul to inquire about a truck rental and were hoping for a flat rate, similar to what Home Depot offers. During our conversation with Daniel from Sales department, we explained that we needed the truck to pick up items from different locations in the area before traveling approximately 40 miles to our final moving destination. Daniel confirmed a price of $187 for a 24-hour rental with no additional charges for mileage. I reconfirmed this price with him, and he assured me that this was indeed the final price. He also mentioned that a contract would be sent reflecting the price we discussed. Trusting his confirmation, I didn't check the contract immediately. The next morning, when we went to pick up the truck, we took a quick look at the contract and were shocked to find that it included only 37 miles. We called and spoke with a supervisor who promised to look into the issue and get back to us by Monday, March 3rd, but we never heard back. We also requested a recorded transcript of our conversation with Daniel, but it was never received. After dropping off the truck, we were charged an additional $105,5 for the extra 96,9 miles which we refused to pay until we hear back from the supervisor and get the recorded conversation. Furthermore, the self-check-in process was a nightmare and took almost an hour to complete. Had we known about these issues, we would have rented a truck from Home Depot for a flat rate of $171, where you know exactly what you're paying for and the keys are handed to you on the spot. This experience has been a valuable lesson, and we will not be using U-Haul again in the future.

George BThe U-Haul application is terrible. I had to go through the 'Getting Started' process multiple times, had to wait on hold for 30 minutes to reach a live representative. The return of the vehicle, the same thing, the app crashed while I was taking pictures of the vehicle. Then tried starting the process again and my rental order was completely gone from the app. Really bad, wasted a half hour trying to start the rental process and the return was just as bad.
