William M5 stars for the person at the establishment, I left my wallet in the change and he texted me and called me to go pick it up
ENGEL MNo one was inside to help get me the furniture pads and dolly that weren't in the truck. There was a sign that said they were open, but that they were showing a unit (it's a self storage place) and that you can call a number they provided [(973) 881-7000] to get a hold of someone who would be standing near the phone. I called, but no one answered. So I just left without the dolly or furniture pads. When I returned to drop off the truck several hours later, the same sign was on the door. I don't think anyone was actually around to help customers. This poor experience for me led to decreased revenue for the owner. Also, it took about 20 min to sign out the truck with the app. This is fine because I didn't feel there was much to do that wasn't necessary with the sign out process. I would've liked to be let known that the sign out process would take that much time. All in though, the truck worked well and was clean so that was great
Andrew TWhen I picked up this truck the entire back was filled with motor oil and coolant. Someone had transported a motor and the truck was never cleaned. I had to stop and try to clean it at a gas station and then fell getting out of the truck due to my shoes being covered in motor oil.
MATT hThe truck was fine, however, the manager/owner was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I have over 200 employees, there was bad weather, so I had my 17-year-old son who works for me call him to ask for an extension of the rental. My son did so politely and offered to pay full rental price for the 3 days requested. The response? he accused my son of trying to steal the truck and threatened to sue him. When I called to see what was going on, he threatened to sue me to and accused me of lying. I will never deal with this company again. the worst experience I've ever had with U-Haul. I get that you could have over booked or something. Thats fine it's your business do what you want, we returned the truck, but you don't have to be so incredibly rude about it.

STEPHEN NIt was extremely difficult to pick up the truck. No one was working at the location, although the office had a sign posted that was clearly marked OPEN. But no one was there to assist us, and the door was locked. Had a lot of trouble with the website and had to call technical support multiple times, which made us about an hour late. This affected our scheduled movers, provided by this company, and they are unable to work their full two hours, although they worked the best they could. They attempted to work quickly, which, thus, damaged some of my furniture. Very unhappy with service overall.

verna mSimple and easy to use online reservation. My one complaint is that hours after the vehicle was returned I got a text about verifying vehicle damage. The photos were not updated and wrong. As I understood I was going to be charged for damage previously done. I drove all the back ready to take pictures or recent photos and then the link expired. I had to call and confirm that I was going to get charged. It got me stressed out.

Fidel UHaving more than one person scheduled to work may help in making this location more pleasant. I recognize that U-Haul isn't the primary gig here and that they have a storage facility to run, but I had called the gentleman in charge with questions and the call was rushed because he was somewhere else. The office was locked up, and there was a piece of paper stating he was showing a storage unit to a costumer.

Judith BThis is the worst experience I have had. I will never rent from this place again and will in fact discourage anyone from doing so. The staff was inept and not helpful. I had reserve my rental almost 2 weeks prior to my pick up date and I kept getting email one day before my reserve day about changing the time and location. I was on the phone trying to figure this out. It was agreed that I would be able to keep my original reservación details but that same day at 7am I get a call stating otherwise! So the pick up time was delayef. Once I arrive the lady at the front had no clue about the business. She stated that I will be charge by the mile because it was a weekend, regardless of the money $100 plus I paid for the rental. This made no sense. At the end she said she didn't know and I had to figure out out myself. Once I get home after picking up the rental , I opened the truck to find it FULL of empty moving boxes!!! This means they did not inspect the truck before handing it to me. They GAVE me a truck that was NOT INSPECTED!!! Needles to say I went back to the store but was pointless. They asked me to move the boxes myself!!! Ridiculous . These were no few boxes. The truck was full of them. I have pictures. The manager and receptionist were useless. I am very concerned with the quality of work they are doing and the quality of trucks they are handing out to customers.

marcin mThey didn't give us enough miles to even complete the move. We told them that we were moving from Bloomfield, NJ to Red Bank, NJ which is about 55 miles and we were only given 44 miles which makes no sense.
Casey MThe man who checked us out was friendly and knowledgeable. Very good experience. There was, however, graffiti spray painted on the truck which was a bit disappointing.
David DThe application wanted to call one of my contacts to verify me. Unfortunately, due to the cold-call combined with caller id by phone number and the number of telemarketing robo-calls we all get, no one would pick up. After sitting by the truck for 10 minutes attempting to verify the agent at the facility offered to help me check in. He was helpful and honest and had me checked in quickly despite having technical difficulties as well. The truck was perfect for the move I had to make and in better condition than trucks I had rented elsewhere in the past.

edward SI asked originally for a one way uhaul, but they obviously didn't listen and gave a return uhaul, which is unfortunate because I asked if I can return it to any uhaul in monsey;which the woman at the counter replied yes. They also forgot to pack the dolly I paid to rent. The next day when I spoke to the manager Ed, he was incredibly rude. Cutting me off, and not letting me speak. Telling me to call the uhaul 800 number if i didn't like speaking to him. The customer service is terrible here.
Alex SSecuring the truck at the place and time I thought I had a contract for was a nightmare. No one ever called back as promised over an 8 hour day. The Shield Storage person was very helpful and pleasant.
Patricia PVery swift and easy process truck was ready and pulled out for easy access to street. Whole process took less than 10 minutes only inconvenience was truck could not be left at another location had to be brought back to original location.
