We had a poor experience with the truck pickup. Originally reserved a truck in Carol Stream three weeks ahead of move. Was told the night before that we had to go to Villa Park to pick it up. Went to Villa Park first thing in the morning and, surprise, the truck wasn't there. Was passed along to an Elmhust location (which was very well run). The disappointment was with the communication...or lack thereof. When I looked the day of pickup, the website still showed that there was my truck in Carol Stream. Very frustrating. Only form of "apology" was additional rental miles added to my trip, which I didn't need. Uhaul is the only reasonable game in town, so you have to put up with this I guess.
GERALD DJean was great as I didn’t have a drop off address but when I called her prior to heading to Elmhurst she assured me the drop off would work, and it did

SCOTT GI got a confirmation email saying I had reserved my equipment and I would get a call. I never got a call and so when I went to pick up, they did not have the right truck which forced me to rent 2 trucks costing twice as much. I will never use U-Haul again.
Robert HMy only complaint is that I had to walk down the street to a different lot to get my truck and drop it off. If there were some way you could mix up your equipment so you have at least one of each type on the main site, that would be helpful. Otherwise, it was a smooth experience with no surprises.

Holly KI received a trailer with a bad tire. The tire had a blowout on the way home causing a tire fire on the side of the road. I called 911 and the fire was put out. I then had to wait over two hours for a uhaul response and repair. I was late getting the trailer back and was charged for an additional day.

RICHARD JI wanted to pick up in westmont. But you sent me to Ellmhurst. Then after getting the trailer you wanted me to drop the trailer off 1 1/2 hours past my destination. I ended up driving it back to Illinois at a cost of an additional $40. This was a very bad experience.
ROBERT KHorrible experience. The trailer that I got from this location had the driver side tire come off while we were on the highway. We could have been killed.

SUSAN NNo lights at drop off in lot. I felt Unsafe. I called 2 days in advance to inquire about easy drop off of trailer and Woman said I can leave by garages . Upon pick up I mentioned it again and she started to speak and a GRUMPY older gentleman chimed in that I HAD TO drop it where I picked it up or they wouldn't rent to me at all. It was uncomfortable and if I wasn't helping a friend move I would have left without the rental. This location is NOT a good representation of Uhaul. In the end it all worked out but I have been bothered by the grouchy man for a couple of days. Lady in the Office was a peach of a woman!
Marcie GUnfortunately this location is not a priority when I was trying to find a rental. This location is a gem. Everyone is that I came in contact with was fantastic. They have a wide variety of trucks and open trailers. A lot of the corporate or more advertised sites didn't have the trailer I was looking for. U Haut Neighborhood Dealer on Rt.83 will be my choice in the future.
BRIAN WI recommend this location as it was easy to get to, the staff was friendly and helpful. By doing all the paperwork on line, picking up the trailer was very quick and easy. I had no problems at all.

RASHID BI drove less than 50 miles and put 5 gallons of gas in the vehicle. This put my level above what it was when I rented the vehicle. The shop then charged me for 4,4 gallons of gas. I have asked them to reverse these charges and they have yet to do so

Rick MThe item we needed for moving was AVAILABLE upon calling right before closing the night before. When we arrived the next morning as the location opened we changed our minds on size. The lady was very FLEXIBLE with our change of plans. She RECOMMENDED items to make our move easier. The prices were very REASONABLE. The lady was very PROFESSIONAL and PERSONABLE which made this transaction smooth and pleasant (considering we were there because my Gramma had passed away and we had the difficult task of moving her items). The whole transaction was done QUICKLY and the return was flawless. Great VALUE and PROFESSIONALISM.

LORI RClean out the vehicles better and wipe down. The rental was full of sand and there was no windshield fluid in the wipers so it was dangerous driving with really dirty windows until we got to a gas station to clean the windows by hand.

Laura HWe use this location often for mostly renting trailers and sometimes trucks. Very organized and efficient with a good supply of equipment. A little far for me to use, but the technology for checking in and out is very user friendly. The office staff is always helpful and pleasant. Very good value for what you pay.
