I am a regular customer, I took Saturday evening at 5:30 and I dropped Sunday night, with the Sunday store closed at 5, but charged another day with $48 (Total $98 for day use ), which I am not happy about. It, am a customer since 2021. I used U-Haul some time for 3 hours and paid the full day amount, but this one I dropped just a couple of hours late that even on Sunday, even after the store closed, but was charged for the whole other day.
MIDHUNKUMAR SI scheduled a pick-up truck rental for 6/9/25 at a location less than 1 mile from my home. The night before, "Andre from scheduling" called to inform me that the truck would not be available and I'd have to pick up at a location 6 miles from my home adding mileage for my rental experience. Andre said I should tell the person at the pick up location and they'd apply a $50 discount for the inconvenience. Of course, when I mentioned this, they had no idea what I was talking about. Last minute cancellation and false information about adjusting for the inconvenience wasn't appreciated.
ANDREW CThe only issue I had was the day I went to retrieve my things from my unit, they had a red lock on my door, advising that the bill had not been paid. May's bill was paid on time & June's wasn't due for another week. They had no explanation as to why it happened. They ended up cutting the lock off & I was able to retrieve my things.

ANGELO CWe returned on Sunday after 5pm and tried to navigate the afterhours process. The return lane was not readily obvious at first but upon circling the property found it to be full. We found a spot adjacent to the lane, processed the return online and deposited the key. Unfortunately, because the truck and car carrier were under separate contracts I had to process the return individually but also had to leave the equipment connected. NOTE: No personal interaction with team.

STEPHEN LThe promised and paid for climate control was not achieved summer 2024 with temperatures nearing 100 degrees inside the climate controlled second floor, resulting in damage of my items stored there. The store manager made many many promises to address the concern, as well as provide me a second storage unit that was properly controlled, none of which came to fruition. Also there were homeless junkies consistently camped out on the premises, another issue that was never addressed.

James PU-Haul was old and dirty. Steering column glued together. Ceiling ripped and falling down. Whole truck shakes when you drive it. Windshield dirty, floor dirty and had pringles all over it. Steering wheel had a layer of black residue that I wiped off after touching it and felt a gross texture. Retire this truck- it's dead.

Check out person said he would make a note and have it looked at which is the perfect thing to say. You have very good people at this location. Checkout person even took the time to call me and let me know I had left a drink cup in the vehicle, once again proactive nice offer of service.

SEAN WThe guys were helpful once I got out of my truck and walked over and asked what I should do. The signage is was pretty confusing. Granted it was 8:00 in the morning but that was the time I was redirected to take it to a new place. It was a clean and solid U-Haul and I'm sure they have their good days and I perhaps hit a bad one. But if I'm going to get a phone call mid move to confirm what had already been discussed and ask if I might take it to a new place I should expect to be expected not have to figure it out myself. Unlike a little gas station location this is a U-Haul command post. I expect a little more. Overall I will naturally rent again because, who else can you go to?

The sliding doors which should be open during business hours wouldn't function. This happened on repeated visits. Although my unit was on the second floor, somehow lower items suffered water damage. Boxes were stuck to the floor from the moisture and items inside were covered with mold/mildew.

I like u haul storage but the low prises online are anything compared to what I was actually charged.

I cannot use it without banging on it with a hammer. Difficult to lock my items & until it is fixed-NOT SURE HOW LONG YOU WILL DELAY THAT. 3) I am challenged with any loads I want to take there. 4) I still don't know if this unit will be large enough since I lost significant space with the 30"+ diameter concrete post in the center! 5) Could not even get the climate-controlled unit I reserved! Your crew there did all they could to assist me. My dilemma with the unit closure not working is not their fault. Notes were made to alert me when a unit that I attempted to reserve becomes available. At that time I will decide if I want to pay movers AGAIN to move my items. Would YOU feel optimistic with these circumstances???

This location also charged me a month earlier than both what they were supposed to and what was confirmed online, causing a $36 overdraft fee and draining my bank account while I was already having money deposit issues. I've also tried contacting the general manager for the Cave Creek location multiple times and no one has gotten back to me on anything even when they deign to answer the phone. They take a message and the call is never returned. I don't normally leave reviews, but I'm just really frustrated with my experience and that I'm basically being ignored.

You can't go rent from Austin G and his team at Cave Creek & 101. They're AMAZING and AWESOME!!
JENNIFER M | Premières impressionsI received an email notification to remind me to pay my rent on time, so I went online and tried to set up an automatic payment with my credit card, but it said it was through a third party and they would charge a small fee to process my payments. Then I noticed I could set it up with my checking account and it was free, so I did that. I didn't screen shot the final screen (my mistake) because it said I would get an email confirmation, but never received one. Then a few days later I got an email saying I had a late charge on my account and it then allowed me to set up automatic payments on my credit card for free. I went in and talked to a general manager and they didn't do anything. So I closed my account and moved my stuff to another location. I'll never use Uhaul again.
brittani l | Expérience généraleI believe the yellow paint on the parking lot for slope should not be so slippery as to make my foot slide down it as soon as it touched it causing my ankle to break and be dislocated and land me in a sitting position! It should be a rougher consistency so that a person can get a grip if they step on it!

On our second unit we paid on the 25th and moved everything out the 18th with no money back for the days not used. Expensive. Love it but may need to choose a different storage next time. Employees were all wonderful though!
