There was trash in the cab of the U-Haul from the previous user as well as a sharp kitchen knife in the passenger door. This is very concerning. The truck was not maintained.

The person who delivered the U boxes to my previous home provided no instruction in loading them which resulted in their being overweight and packaged incorrectly. The time for the empty boxes to be picked up from my new home was scheduled with the office for between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, then the actual driver called to say she would pick them up at 7:00 am. She was delayed and actually arrived at about 9:30 am. Don't schedule a time if the drivers are going to change the time.

The delivery of the UBoxes was not as expected which made the final phase of my move more difficult than anticipated. The logistics person should have looked at the pictures of the requested drop off point and listened to the customer when she said that she was not comfortable about the boxes being unloaded from a trailer. The call center person was very patient while listening to my angry tirade.

Fix the buggy app, system and website. How is it even possible that the U-Haul employee system, U-haul app, website, and customer service lines are all not working during my reservation?? I've seen scam websites better made than this. Not to mention, someone entered in mileage incorrectly and charged me $990+ instead of $200, and somehow this was not a priority for the manager to return my call within several hours yet. Will never give business to U-haul again, and won't recommend it. Insane to see inefficiency at every level.

Huge line. Scatterbrained employees, and a lot of wasted time. I ended up backing in the trailer myself and unhooking it. I waited longer than I should to have someone come do something that took me 10 seconds to do.

I work in the truck leasing and rental industry and was impressed with my experience at U-Haul. Both locations were well organized and efficient. After picking up a small trailer we had to upsize to the larger trailer which the location easily handled. The trailer was in great shape. I pulled it from Michigan to Massachusetts, it pulled straight and true the entire way. Great job U-Haul!

There was a lot of back and forth regarding scheduling and the box delivered an hour late, which cost me since I hired movers to unload the boxes. I would not recommend this service. It was too expensive and a hassle in an already stressful situation. The staff were friendly, which is the only reason I rated the service average.

I turned in my rental early, but it was never placed in the system. I was charged for extra days and it took numerous phone calls to this location and corporate to finally get the issue resolved. If only the employee who checked me in had entered the info, none of this would have happened.

I was told at the Lansing location I could drop off at the Holly location anytime I asked several times if I could drop off at 2:00 a.m. or 12:00 a.m. and the attendant at the Lansing location told me yes it would not be a problem several times. I went to deliver it around 6:00 the night I rented it and I called the Holly location and they told me the gates were closed and they didn't do any overnight drop offs and I have to wait till 8:30 in the morning when I was already on my way out there I literally had to camp out in a parking lot to stay with the u-haul overnight to where I didn't put any more miles on it because I was misinformed at the Lansing location. I will probably never use you all again because of this miscommunication. The employees at the location told me several times I could drop off anytime and that was not the case. It was extremely inconvenient to where I didn't have to add miles to my U-Haul to drive it all the way back home when I found out I couldn't drop it off overnight. One at the Lansing location I was told the exact opposite and I asked several times because I knew I'd be dropping it off late. I'm not happy with my experience at all.

Make sure the employees have proper customer care, and that they are giving out every detail they need and not just handing them keys making them go find their own truck. Also letting them know something is majorly wrong with the truck before putting a customer in the truck.

Front facing staff at check-in was a great representative for Uhaul. A busy Saturday morning with a long line of customers, he was helpful, knowledgable, and clearly kept the line content despite the wait. Only small glitch with vehicle was no windshield washer solvent. Ive used this location in the past, will use again.

Staff was friendly and nice but easily distracted. Wasn't given clear instructions on how to return which caused a huge inconvenience of waiting for almost two hours since we had to contact customer service and charged for safe protection when we weren't offered a choice

This rental was an awful experience. We reserved a 26-ft truck about a month before we moved. The day before our pick-up was scheduled, we received an email saying the location we chose didn't have a truck in that size, so we needed to go to a second location (the specific location was provided). We went to the new place on our pickup day. They got a truck and the car tow dolly we needed. But they found the dolly had a screw missing just before we pulled out. So then we were sent to ANOTHER location. Got a truck lined up in the size we needed, but then found out it had a catalytic converter problem. So we waited until another truck could be ready for us. Overall, it seemed to be an across-the-company quality control problem of not prepping and checking the trucks ahead of time and ensuring the customer had what was needed at the time of pick-up. We finally got the truck home 2,5 hours later than our original pick-up time that we had scheduled. During the drive to our new home (across multiple states), the truck got a flat tire, which only added to the overall problems we faced with this company. When I went onto UHaul's website and chatted with Customer Service to request remuneration or something for the problems caused by lack of preparation, they said they couldn't handle it and I'd need to call the final store directly. But three stores were involved in this big problem.

I was a little disappointed that the app tried to charge me a $25 "cleaning fee" even though it was not part of my estimate, and there was no reason, no dirt whatsoever, i had the truck for 2 hours. Luckily the manager was there and assured me I wouldn't be charged. But why was I slammed with that fee? Felt like Uhaul app was trying to rip me off and if I hadn't caught it and the manager hadn't been there, I might have been charged a Bogus cleaning fee. Uhaul needs to fix this on the app. Otherwise I was very happy with the Uhaul franchise at Jolly and Cedar.

As a long going customer, for a U-Haul. I have been using U-Haul for a long time. I suggest one thing. Is that the workers, pay attention to the customers, and stop talking to each other about personal business in the workplace. If they would do less talking and more work, things will be much much better. Not saying that they're not good, but entering into a business where you have to use personal information. And also use your financial services. The workers need to focus more on the customers, then focusing on their personal lives, and talking all the time. Pay attention to what they are doing, in a lot of mistakes will not be made.

well, I had to put air in two tires before I even took the truck then I put gas exactly where the gage was when I picked up only to find that I was charged for two more gallons…really? I didn't even use the truck for 24 hours so will not be using again.

Not really clear on how improvements could be made but I do have to comment on I believe her name was Emma I know she had just hired in was just training and the reservation seem to be a little challenging but I got to give it to her she was a trooper she stuck in there and she figured it out only if more businesses had employees with that much dedication customer service would be miles ahead of where it is today

My storage fee was not prorated, so I have to do a dispute to get my money back. I was charged $148 for a 7 day storage. I was never told that I had to move out on a certain day for my money to be prorated, and returned. If your company is going to push that, they should let that be known when you first get a storage.

When I was done, I felt like I won. The lottery truly was in Shock scene light minutes I walked in all my needs were met and was filling out paperwork and it was completed. In addition to that my first months rent was free. Didn't even need that because the experience was well worth.it Added bonus through all life dysfunctions this was well structured I was in and out quickly

The only suggestion that I have is to have a front desk worker at all times. I was unable to come to the store to close my storage account. I called multiple times and no one would answer. I tried the online services and that was unsuccessful. There was no reply to the automated system that emailed me. The phone prompts kept transferring me to out of town stores. The out of town lady never called back. Three days later my son had to come in for service to cancel the storage unit. The unit was perfect for our items. Please improve the consistency of the front desk phone service. Merci!

My storage was nice and clean when I moved in and once I came to get my things months later I discovered that my boxes, clothes sofa and love seat had mouse/rat droppings in, around and my child and I belongs and out things. You could see that they been crawling along my furniture, chewed bags of our clothes, and boxes of my child's things. We had to throw away most of the furniture along with clothing items for both of us. Once I seen them I took pictures and went to go speak with a manager which was Dimitrius at the time and he came and looked inside the unit with me as well seen that there was no food or anything around in my unit. He also took picture and I sent them to his email as well. He was very helpful about the situation but I'm still upset because we lost most of our things that I worked hard for.

The only people that were nice and understanding was the people on the phone for customer service and the manager of the U-Haul store. The guy that I had spoke to gave us the wrong storage unit knowing that I told him that we had a whole U-Haul and I need a big unit, he gave us the smallest storage unit there was. So when we got there to unload our things we couldn't even get into the unit because how small it was, and the U-Haul place was closed so I had to drive back to Corunna where I lived. I had to have the truck one more night. When we went back up to the U-Haul place the manager was kind and helped us get a bigger unit. I am upset because I am still getting charged for the truck when it was not my fault that I had to go back to my house with the truck and then back to Lansing to return it. We did however get our stuff out on the 19, I did call and told one of the guys there that we moved our stuff out. Also there is a bolt by the storage unit door that is not covered and I literally hurt my middle finger knuckle it went into my skin deeply and it was very bloody and painful. I had used this U-Haul service in the past and I loved it was very pleased, but this time around I was and still am displeased. Again the manager of the store was very understanding and helpful.

A few of the staff had a persona that they didn't even want to be there to work. When it came to a concern when I moved in I was brushed off. But other then that I didn't have an issue with where I had my belongings.

Tried to get help with the walk that was given to me to lock my storage, Try to explain to one of the staff members that the holes that the lot goes on does not align so the watt can go on it. So instead of helping me all I got was a shrug. As to say I don't know what to tell you.

This location provided excellent customer service! The manager was extremely professional and accommodating. When I first chose our storage unit, I didn't realize I chose the wrong size. She happily changed our order and did not charge us for the difference in size. My only issue is, the location of the unit inside of the facility was somewhat far from where the truck was so it was a lot of back-and-forth. However, the cards they provided were extremely helpful and needed. Overall, the process was great!

I dealt witha a young lady named PAYTON .she has glasses. She works at the jolly an cedar location in lansing mi, she was amazing , very thorough, fast efficient, quick on her feet with alternate ideas when what I was looking for wasn't available. Checking into the facility had unclear signage (where to swipe to check in was unclear). The card readers didn't work well/consistently. There were other readers available and with practice it got better, but overall could've been easier to start with.

I moved a bunch of stuff because I was building a home and had to sell mine. My move in date for my new build had changed 3 times in 4 months and kept getting pushed back. Jordan was extremely accommodating and understanding. When I brought some heavy weight equipment to the storage unit, Tarale, helped me a ton. Both Jordan and Tarale were so helpful, professional, and kind! I will use this location again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a storage unit!!!!!

Easy to check-in, quick service, changed the reservation to meet my needs without hassle and his estimate of my needs was exactly what was required. Thorough walk-through and the dollies were right where I needed them. After a long cross country trip, it was very much appreciated!

I went into the Cedar/Jolly location a year and a half to two years ago and it seemed like an unorganized mess. I was hesitant to go back but it's the most convenient one. I was beyond pleased with the difference in cleanliness, customer service, and overall organization that I saw. Huge change from a year and a half ago! I was a little apprehensive about my things being safe at this store due to location but Jordan Martin took me to where my belongings would be held and showed me how secure the area was and that everything is under surveillance. Jordan was so friendly, personable, and reassuring which made me feel safe. I will be coming here for future services and also be recommending this location to everyone!!! Excellent job!!!! I am so happy with my experience!!!!

I have no disputes. The unit was clean and we'll kept. My issue with the employees was not the local employees. The issue was that I couldn't ever get through to management at Cedar and Jolly. Whenever I called I would get the phone service center. It was very frustrating.

The reason I did not give 5 stars is, because of the Access hours. I forgot to ask about it and the staff member did not inform me the day I got the unit. I spent close to an hour, trying to get through to customer service, to ask about the hours, just to find out the access hours is the same as the store hours, unless I wanted to pay to have after hours access. 

I am rating an excellent for one reason, the boss Mr. O'Riley. he was very fair and exceeded expectations. However, the door situation and access is a bunch of BS. The doors never fin worked properly the entire time I was renting which was over a year. Totally fin stupid u cant get the doors to open properly...and stay open when they are supposed to after logging in and being in the unit. i had to prop the doors open everytime...including my last day...GET THE FUKIN DOORS FIXED!!!!!!
