GUY TAn extremely frustrating experience. My order location and pickup location were different. Worse was the pickup location did not have any rentals available. So I went back to my order location and John (manager) was helpful to get me in bigger rental. The bigger rental (26') was too big so I exchanged it in at neighboring town for the rental that I originally ordered (15').

SAMUEL HI have used this location the last couple of times I've needed a motorcycle trailer. This location has great customer service and makes everything so easy. I went in on Thursday and the gentleman that was assisting me let me know that he was new and was having some technical difficulties. He apologized a couple of times and I let him know it was fine and that I was in no rush. The 2 women that were working at the time did not hesitate to jump in and help him. They were very kind and considerate and were able to clear up the issues. They then directed him to get the trailer hitched up. He ran out to the trailer and when I pulled up he had the trailer hitched up, making sure everything was secured. I was really impressed with the relaxed yet business minded atmosphere the staff had. When I returned with the trailer on Tuesday, an employee in the parking lot came up, he unhitched the trailer, and gave me a receipt inside 5 minutes. This store has really got a great team working there and is a pleasure doing business with. I am really sorry that I did not get their names, they were outstanding!

GEORGE BConsider providing customers with a clear, easy-to-follow pamphlet at the time of pick-up that outlines how to save time during check-in and drop-off. Emphasize how simple it is to return a truck or trailer using the U-Haul app. Even better, include a QR code-either stapled to the receipt or printed on a separate card-that links directly to the return page or app download. When handing them their paperwork, staff can simply say, "Just scan this when you're ready to return the truck-no lines, no waiting." Additional Suggestions: - In-App Reminder Notifications: Trigger a friendly push notification or SMS reminder near the scheduled return time with the same QR code or a direct link to the return process. - Visual Signage at Drop-Off Locations: Install signs that say something like, "Skip the Line-Scan Here to Return Your Truck," with the same QR code prominently displayed. - Video Tutorial Option: Include a short optional video linked via the QR code or on the pamphlet to walk users through the drop-off process visually. - Multilingual Option: Make sure the pamphlet and app instructions are available in multiple languages based on regional demographics.

MATTHEW MFrom the time I rented space and then arrived from nevada with my trailer, all employees have been good to me. 2 months after finding my house in plainfield, i rented a truck to move my stuff out. Again they were very helpful. Even the janitor who was new, helped me with one heavy load. I am 64 and moved by myself.
ALFEO AMy drop-off of the 6' x 12' trailer was easy at the Bolingbrook location. Benjamin met me in the parking lot just as I was putting our vehicle in park and helped me with the return. He was very friendly, efficient, helpful and told me that the drop-off paperwork would all be in an email to me. He disconnected the lights and trailer easily. This entire experience happened it less than five minutes and I was on my way. I would not ever hesitate to rent from this location in the future for my moving needs. This location and personnel also get five stars and A+++++.
WILLIAM Tcheck in was a little slow. On the other hand, drop off and check out was more pleasant than other locations I've been to Very nice people to deal with.

CHAD SService was great! The paperwork went very smoothly. I was in and out very quickly and did not have to do anything to hook up or remove the trailer when I returned. Top notch all the way.
GUY TI submitted the location of my pick up. It was close to where we stayed and the location of where I needed it. The day prior the location of the pick up was changed. Caused me a 30 min drive each way. Then they couldn't find the correct trailer and even then put the wrong number on the receipt. Poor job U-Haul.

I started moving from storage on Saturday September 21st in What should have been a two day move. The Elevator kept breaking down I was stuck several times and it was a nightmare! The people that came from out of town to help me were stuck also. One person lost his job because we were stuck on the elevator several times and when we finally got downstairs we were both sickened by the entire ordeal. Throwing up and all. The whole facility needs to be rebuilt. I was in this building for 5 years and have always had problems with the Elevator breaking down. Yes, my truck rental was free, but I'm now traumatized and I keep thinking about what would've happened if I had been there alone. I'm so out done with this whole situation.

My only two complaints are: the bathroom was usually a wreck (unclean, out of toilet paper etc.) and the elevator always smelled horrible...I do wish that dollys were available for use just like the carts as sometimes the carts are not helpful, but I understand that they would disappear too easily. I'm sure there could be a more helpful response and something helpful, like a charge to have it cut off and replace the lock? I did however find my keys. We hired moving helpers. They were very friendly but not always extremely careful with the walls and items the were moving. One of them was a new hire, so that may have been part of the problem.

However, when it came time to pay for the storage unit, the location changed to the wrong city. The first representative I spoke to said that I would have to drive to the other city to cancel the unit. The second representative I spoke to canceled the wrong location and left the contract open for the unit that I did not want. After speaking to three representatives, I decided to use a different storage company. U-Haul is overpriced for the terrible customer service they have.

The day we moved August 30th the elevators were broken and we had to move everything from a 3rd floor. It was very hot. Never received a call from management for a follow up. Not even a "hey we're so sorry for the inconvenience". Nothing. Left a message for the manager and he never called me back.

Caroyln P | Expérience générale1. I believe the cost was too high 2. I didn't like the reduced hours once I made an arrangement to settle and move out by a certain date. As a regular renter the access hours were fine, it was only after I made arrangements to move out that it appeared things were being made harder for me. I also didn't like that my daughters name was removed from the lease and she had to get a signature from me to move her things out of the storage unit. Some how I went from being a co-signer to being the only one on the lease and that should have never happened. I never received a call or notification of that and neither did my daughter. 3. I didn't like how the alarm went off each time when I opened my unit. This was even after I paid the settlement amount. 4. I didn't like the beat up latch on the unit that was like that when I moved in, it was always a struggle to unlatch the door to open the unit. I assumed that during my time renting, it would be switched out or repaired but it never was. They maintained the grounds but left broken latches in place. I noticed many other units with what appeared to be bent or beat up latches as well. This should be resolved. 5. I didn't like the LACK of DIVERSITY at this location. There are all types of people that live in Bolingbrook a suburb of Chicago one of the most diverse cities in this country but I saw SO diversity at this location (for 2 years) and I think it would have made a difference and would have been friendlier. In general I would look elsewhere before I rented from UHaul storage facility the next time.

Also 24hr access door needs to be fixed, can't open door easily (panic door hw constantly stuck). There needs to be a way to use the main door (locked with deadbolt) after you gain after-hours access because not everything fits through 3ft wide side door.

We went during business hours and always had to tolerate the sound of the alarm when we opened the door to storage unit. The alarm is very obnoxious.
