my reservation was canceled the day prior because they said I had duplicates, but I had no reservations on the app. after 30 minutes the reservation was on the app but it was for a location that was a few miles farther away than I reserved. I was told that the location I had reserved online did not even do rentals and that they had no idea why it was even an option. I did a reservation to pick up before the location opened at 8. I confirmed this the day prior. I took an uber to get to the new location for 7 a pickup. when I got there and opened my app, it said there was an error and to call u-haul. I called u-haul and was told that the location did not set up my reservation correctly and I would need to wait until 8a when they open to get the truck. I was standing outside, alone, in the cold in an unsafe parking lot where a group of displaced men were in the shopping strip right next door staring at me. I asked the representative if there's anything that can be done and she said it's not her fault the local spot messed up the order, but that she could see if other locations were available. the next location was six miles away, another $40 uber. and with traffic would have taken two additional hrs to get to my house. the manager did end up coming around 740. she apologized perfusely for the error. unfortunately I had to pay my movers an hr of time that they sat at my house waiting for me because since I didn't leave u-haul until 8, I didn't arrive at my house until 9. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had moving. I will never use u-haul again and will never recommend u-haul to any friend or family member

Google maps took me down some back streets that made it pretty difficult to get there, you might want to inform people to simply take I-93. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Don't block-in customers parked in the customer parking section with Uhaul trucks. Returning my U-Haul at the end of the day to find a line of trucks blocking my car in was unbelievable, especially after being instructed to specifically park my personal vehicle there. So unprofessional and quite frankly moronic. All employees had left and obviously thought it was okay to leave for the night like that. Or they didn't even notice? Not sure which is worse. I'm so sorry I used this location.

On the day of my rental, I encountered a situation that required some changes to my reservation. The good: I rented a 6x12 trailer, it looked brand new, was clean and it seemed like the trailers first voyage. Customer service was good and the women behind the desk was pleasant.I drove it from Boston to Utah. The Bad: After 3 hours of driving I pulled over for gas and smelt something burning. Thankfully I had a laser temperature gun and two of the wheels on the trailer read above 400 degree's. Roadside assistance showed up 2 hours later and we found out the brake drums were not calibrated properly. The mechanic eased them out and the trailer worked fine. This is super dangerous. trailers catch fire because of overheated brakes. Thankfully I caught this before it got worse. The mechanic jacked up the trailer and the wheel did not free spin. How is this not performed when purchasing a new trailer by Uhal? I dont know who is to blame, I am just happy my trailer didnt catch fire. hense the 3 stars. otherwise it was a flawless 2400 miles.

Woman handing my reservation (she specified she was the Asst Manager) was rude, unhelpful, and uneducated on the product as well as its associated cost. Having utilized this location before (with three others within 2 miles), I figured it was a no brainer to use them again. The woman took my information and for the next ten minutes it was the most confrontational and enjoyable experience i have ever encountered with a customer service representative. Manager was there in the afternoon and she was very pleasant and helpful after hearing about my initial experience. Unfortunately, after my morning experience, I couldn't bring myself to give this location any more than 2 stars. I am only giving that for the managers professionalism and positive attitude to help resolve my questions instead of telling me, "I have bad energy" like the assistant manager did earlier that day.

Truck bed was dirty with trash from previous renter. The truck exterior it self was really dirty, but it served my needs and thr staff there was awesome. They were so helpful and Bonnie the manager took care of any issues immediately without question. That's great customer service and I will back as a customer soon!

I thought the location did the best they could given the circumstance, so I wanted to give a positive rating. It is hard to be promised 24 hour pick up though, and not have the truck ready. It seems UHaul may be over promising for a service they can't deliver or guarantee. The fact the truck was not ready made the start of my move quite rough. Everyone was kind, and thankfully we could make it through, but the delay in pick up time threw off my ability to prepare, threw off the movers start time, threw off my kids school drop off routine, and required I return to the facility by taxi to pick up a truck.

I am a weekly renter from this branch. I appreciate and look forward to seeing the staff at every visit everyone always goes out of their way to accommodate me as a client. I'd like to bring attention to the management in particular at this branch. Bonnie goes above and beyond Not only as a manager but as a human. Regardless of what's happening in my day I always end up at U-Haul either in a rush or late and running behind, her smile always greets me and makes me feel comfortable. I've rented from a lot of branches but this I now consider to be my home base and I just want to thank everyone involved for always making it such a wonderful experience!

Had rented storage space at the Malden location even before U-Haul took it over. They have made improvements since they have owned it, and it feels very safe! What a waste of my peoples time working with UHaul , after I saw that the reserved space was not available we cancelled Immediately,I went to a competitor down the street , was loaded in and on my way in half hour , I spent a half hour at your location after spending a half hour a week before pre registering and setting up payment , only to find out your rep could not access any of the correspondence I was sent by your phone rep , and was not interested in looking at the numerous emails cut and emails I had on had , I'm in customer service and if I operated like you guys I'd have no customers, I never complain but you guys take the cake for how not to do things

I started out at a different location but I made some mistakes with my truck and storage reservations, so I was referred to Bonnie's location. I was super stressed but Bonnie made everything so easy. It was a Saturday which also happened to be the first of the month so I know they were super busy, but even still they were all so nice and accommodating. Working in the service industry myself I know that how happy your staff is directly correlates to how well customers are treated. The team actually looks like they enjoy working there which honestly is rare these days. The location is great as well!

To help deal with historically severe heat waves, top-floor indoor climate control at this location may benefit from adding a couple roof vents. Put another way: venting the heat from the highest point can be more cost-effective than fighting the sun with air conditioning. We had such vents in our chicken and baled hay barns. Sealed them off in the winter.

My experience was much worse than "below average". My reserved locker, even though confirmed just the day before, was not available when I arrived. This was because (supposedly) someone had used the "e-checkin" service, but checked into not their locker, but my reserved locker!! How can UHaul allow people to do this? No solution was offered and no other lockers were available at that site - Medford, MA. I finally found an alternate at another UHaul site. But at a cost $45/mi th more expensive than the locker that had been guaranteed to me. I want a refund for the difference from UHaul. And, heads up UHaul, your new self-e-checkin prices is highly flawed. Please email me to arrange for the requested reimbursement. The staff we spoke with were friendly and helpful, really terrific. However, the office on Eastern Ave was significantly understaffed. I realize the pandemic has made hiring difficult, but I hope you're doing your best to hire the appropriate number of employees. More problematic was the fact that even though we'd reserved a unit, it wasn't available. Why bother letting someone reserve a unit if you're not going to actually hold it? Luckily, the other location in Malden had a unit that was a bit larger, which was unfortunately $100 more per month. While we did get one free month, we should have just been charged the original amount of the size we tried to rent in the first place, plus some sort of discount or offer for the inconvenience.

This is not representative of all staff at this U-Haul. The process by which we rented a unit was horrendous to say the least. I believe it took me close to 90 minutes just to secure a facility and had a myriad of transactions (debits and credits) to make it all work. Another inconvenience is all the extra fees (lock fee, environmental fee, service charge, etc). All those hidden fees made it feel like I was getting scammed. If you bundled it up and only charged what was advertised in one lump sum, I would feel less taken advantage of.

This storage facility is exceptionally clean...Clean, bright facility with several doors for convenient move-in. All the staff at this location were extremely helpful and friendly. Bonnie, the manager, took me on a tour of the facility and I was impressed with the clean, shiny floors and my unit was bigger than I thought. Willy, Karoline, Brittany and Denise all helped facilitate a seamless move-in...Thanks for all your help !!!!
