I had a great experience at the St Johns location. I got charged about $290 online, and when I got to the store it said there was a one way special to Seattle for $144. Thomas B helped me redo my reservation to get the discount and was very kind and helpful. Great experience.

Better customer service. Sent email directly to store manager with no reply. Sent message to email address in uhaul email and got no response. The truck we rented had a loud rattle Everytime you stepped on the gas and the box truck leaked water. Both issues brought up when returned to uhaul and nobody seemed to care. Waited approx 40 minutes to return the rented vehicle due to untrained staff working the counter. We waited for another employee who was called in due to lack of training.

This is the second time I've been overcharged at this location. Like charged twice.. And also the second time I didn't receive a hand truck/dolly when I requested one. Oh well. Everything else is great, everyone is nice. The trucks are clean. I would say

My recent experience with U-Haul St. John's was thoroughly disappointing and riddled with avoidable issues. The staff's performance was substandard, marked by a lack of attentiveness and professionalism, which contributed to a chaotic and poorly managed environment. The disorganization was evident from the moment I arrived, and it persisted throughout the rental process. What was most concerning, however, was the unexpected $17 charge applied at the end of the rental. At no point was this fee disclosed, either in the contract, during the initial discussion, or through any form of written or verbal communication. This lack of transparency created a situation where I was essentially forced to pay an unanticipated charge without the opportunity to dispute or question it. A fundamental aspect of any reputable business is clear and upfront communication, especially when it comes to fees. The absence of this basic standard left me feeling deceived and frustrated. Given the combination of disorganization and hidden charges, I cannot justify returning to this location or recommending it to others.

Excellent customer service at this location, always friendly and professional. The team is always experienced enough to guide me through complicated moves. This last move was a bit chaotic and yet my Uhaul folks were kind, patient & understanding. I rented as dolly @ $7 /day meaning to only have it one day. However, just my luck my engine blew up basically and without a car I was stuck moving things in unconventional ways. I also kept the dolly for 3 days unintentionally. No late fee though, just the cost of the dolly rental for 3 days. I highly recommend this branch to everyone for all their moving needs. I didnt get a truck this time but all my boxes, tapes, etc came from here. They got you covered! Thanks again -HH

I rent trucks at this location all the time. However the truck was overly used and I believed the truck needed a tune-up. The truck was driving very jumpy.

The app is a bit clunky. I could see it being beneficial if there is a long line, but otherwise, so much faster to talk to a person at the counter.

I dealt with two different sales persons and they were both high caliber. They were courteous and knowledgeable and my cargo van was ready on time spotlessly clean. The little shop is well stocked with anything you could possibly need for moving.

The drop off location said to stay in your car until someone came to help you. There was no bell or light that went off as we drove into the drop off spot so no one knew we were there. We finally had to go in and find them. If we aren't supposed to leave our car then the location has to have a way to notify staff that there is a drop off waiting. Pretty simple logic that simply didn't exist at this spot. Once they knew we were there it was fine.

Initially, I was very disappointed after receiving a filthy truck (cab muddy interior)and the trailer smelled like livestock or manure had been transported insideAfter a brief exchange with the staff, they apologized and credited me back some if my money. I've done business with Uhaul over 40 years so to have experienced such a terrible service I wasn't sure if I'd ever do business with them again. Hopefully, my next experience will be better.

Manager was uninterested in our experience with electrical failures and spent his time deriding our experiences. Troubleshooting the trailer lighting failures in the night on a remote road. Blaimed it on the pick-up location.

They lied about appointment time. I booked a hitch wire installation for 7am then upon arrival was told theyd be in at 8am. I went back at 830am and heard them telling a woman that they are never in on time and would be im soon. I waited 5 and a half hours and they broke my tail light. I had to press the manager to fix it because they were just going to give me a 50 dollar discount when my light cost 340.00. Then after all that was done the wiring job was a failure. Didnt even work properly and I had to take it back. I lost half my vacation and reservations due to this. Because of this I had to abandone my vacation a week early and come home. Then they pffer me 10 % discount for my troubles. Thos is garbage and I will never use UHUAL again. I would advise anyone to use a different company. This was garbage and very unprofessional. Not to mention ive still been trying to speak with corporate with no sucess and am just being given the run around.

The gentleman behind the counter, I think his name started with an M, was extremely helpful, calm, cool and collected under a very high stress situation. He consistently had a line of 4 to 5 people at the counter and was the only one on the facility. Having worked with the bureau of Oregon labor, and industries in the past, I thought it would be worth mentioning this, as it could be a serious safety issue for this gentleman. He was pleasant and friendly and didn't complain. However, the stress from the customers was noticeable, and the risk of having heavy equipment dropped off and picked up with only one person on site is a huge one. Not just from a safety standpoint, but from a production standpoint for the business itself. Thought you should know… Again, really good work to the employee. This was on Saturday, September 28th around 12p-5p

I didn't need a 15" foot truck and I needed to downsize to a 10" truck because it was costly, but I feel that more of an effort to locate one could have been made.

Overall, my experience here was good! The staff clearly knew what they were doing and were on top of things. Even when the person in front of me in line was confused and couldn't figure out how many miles to estimate between two destinations on Google Maps, the employee calmly helped them estimate their mileage. My only complaint is that there were vagrants and suspicious people hanging around when I dropped the truck off. They approached me, then harassed the associate that helped me return their truck. I hope the company improves security at this location because the employees don't deserve this rough treatment.

The GM was exceptional and worked his ass off - it was a busy day and he was patient with everyone and courteous and did his job calmly. He represented the company top notch- give the man a raise or promotion!!

The manager guy asked for my emergency contact. Told him I don't have one, just moved to Oregon by myself and plus I left my phone at home. Manager commented "you don't have like a mom or something?" I responded with "not that it's anyone's business but I don't have a mom" I grew up in foster

I needed to move a huge dresser and a bunch of totes. I rented a $7 dolly. It was the best $7 I ever spent. I wish I'd have known about this before my 3 kids graduated from college! A lot of time and energy was saved.
