I reported a bad battery and the service tech "checked it" but didn't know what he was doing. He needed training as he tested the alternator, not the battery. I was marooned the next day for 3 hours while a roadside assistant came and replaced the battery. The staff was friendly and attentive, but yeah... when a customer tells you what is wrong and even knows that you didn't know what you were doing, AND just plans to have to deal with it when it fails, you know there is some bad stuff going on.

Clean the trucks. The vehicle I was given was disgusting, stunk and was filthy. However I saw a worker washing their private vehicle. I went back into the location to complain about the horrible smell, the worker inside dismissed my complaint and told me that all the vehicles smelled. I didn't bother discussing the matter any further. The truck so badly that I was nauseated while driving it. I am truly disappointed in Uhaul.

I reserved a 10 foot and got a 14 charged for the bigger. I reserved the day before and pick up was 430. Plenty of time to communicate that it wasn't available at that location. I would have called around to find one. Moving usually pairs with a lot expenses but we had to rely on others. I didn't have that money. And the woman was super rude and snapping. I am fed up with uhaul for messing up yet another time 4 times in 8 months. Every time it's something! They are lucky that they are a monopoly. That is the only reason I will use them again. And I will expect them to fail a 5th time.

Ther was a small pile of dirt at the end of the Cargo Trailer ....as if a worker started to pick up but got side tracked...other than that everything was good

The system was down and because there was no option for a paper process as plan B, we were forced into being 2 hours late the entire day. This caused us to have to pay additional labor cost thru uhual's labor service. I'd like to be reimbursed for that.

improve your ethics at UHaul. Not the local dealership but U-Haul itself. Adding chump change junk fees such as license recovery and environmental fees in the body of the contract instead of simply putting it on the rental fee is unethical. It may be legal but it will upset every customer you get and may cause people to recommend other rental services. Not very smart, even if it is legal. Also, as far as the local location, teach them to be fair reading the fuel gauge. If you are going to break down the fuel to 1/16 of a tank when the gauge only measures in quarters change the gauge or simply fill the tanks up and require them to be returned full. Total BS. I picked up the truck with 5/16 of a tank. The fuel needle was two needle thickness above the quarter mark. The paperwork said 3/4 tank. I brought it to the attention of the attendant who could do nothing but get me to take a pic of the gauge and dispute it on the app. Not my job to do such when picking up a rental. This put up red flags and when I returned the truck I took a pic in the lot of each side of the truck, the milage and the fuel gauge. Low and behold I was charged $27 plus tax for fuel when I stopped at a fuel station a mile before I returned the truck and topped it off to two needles above the 1/4 mark and I did take a pic of that. I sent it to the attendant two days later when I reviewed the bill. She said she read the gauge and it said a quarter and no one used the truck. My picture disputed that and pictures today have a time, date and a gps location of when the pic was taken. I had to jump through hoops and waste an hour of my time to get the fuel charge credited. Do better.

Guy in store put in that we was suppose to bring the truck back at 12AM, manager called with bad attitude at 7:30AM saying we needed to bring the truck back… tried explaining to her that the guy did it wrong and she hung up on my face. UNPROFESSIONAL! Will never use this location again!

The attendant wasn't being truthful when I made reservations she stated that I didn't. All I had to move was 2 mattresses and 2 box springs and she stated that I had to get a large truck. She stated I need a credit card that I pay a bill on. I told her I used my Visa there to rent a vehicle before.

I was going to drop trailer a couple miles from my home but had to drive60 round trip to drop off. Some one from u-haul said they would give vip 25 off but I not seen anything yet

The team obviously was poorly trained. I requested a one way rental from Hammond Louisiana to Douglasville Georgia. I was assured that everything was in order. I was quoted just under one hundred dollars for the rental. I later received a message saying that my drop off point was back at the same location as where I picked it up. I dropped off the trailer in Douglasville as planned and now I'm being charged extra because I'm being told that I have a lost receipt. Not happy with U-Haul at the moment!

posted signs said that upon move out, we could opt to use the on site dumpster and be charged $50 for use of it. we had a mattress we couldn't take, and asked if we could use the dumpster, like posted signs said. we were told no, and so I asked about the posted signs that said if we left anything, we would be charged a cleaning fee. I said we'll have to use that option because I can't take this mattress. I was told that wasn't an option, and that we would be charged for multiple months of storage if we did not remove this mattress. an employee called me to settle the matter, when I said I could not drive towns away and pay for a vehicle to haul off the item, and pay a dump fee, when posted signs clearly stated they could handle that, I was called an idiot by this employee. they continued to try to charge me for storage, even though the unit was left unlocked and clean aside from that one large item. I won't use u-haul again, because they seem to change policies when it suits them, even to the contradiction of their own posted policies, and because being called an idiot for expecting them to honor their posted policies isn't something I appreciate from a company. I expect posted signs detailing policies to be accurate, and to not be called an idiot for that expectation.

I was very upset and disappointed to discover water damage from a huge leak in the roof, all across the entry way above the door! The date you have listed here for moving out of the unit is wrong. I had it emptied by the 27th of August, not the 31st, delayed less than 12 hours because of problems with water damage. I am also upset to be told that I was sent a late payment notice for the new billing cycle, after all of the water damage and white powdery mildew on my wooden furniture abd a leather bag. I was ill for 2 weeks after moving out of the unit. I feel that Uhaul should give me a refund on the 2 month rental of this faulty, leaking unit, not be billed for the unit after it was vacated!!! I will never rent from Uhaul again and I will tell everyone I know about my disasterous experience with Uhaul, which I filmed and have pictures of. I am grateful I did purchase at least a mininum amount of insurance, but that does not compensate or make up for U-Haul 's neglect of a good protective storage unit and faulty billing system!

The storage facility here in Hammond, managed by Afton Dugas, is by far the cleanest and best managed storage facility that I have ever used. I would tell anyone in need of a storage space to go to U-Haul here in Hammond for the best experience for their storage needs.

The major I have issue came when it was time for me close my contract on my unit. I informed two young men on two different occasional that I was moving out the unit well before my next due date of payment, but not one ever told the manager so I was told. I even called and tried to speak with the manager of the location never could get a call back and the manager was never available for me to speak with. Even though I called about closing the unit in May. The location at 1915 sw railroad is now telling me that I am responsible for a unit that I moved out of and never stored anything in the unit in the month of June. I am being penalized for this location lack of communication, professionalism and at this point they are trying to rip me off. No telling how many people they have or will do this to, it is not right and I will not and should not be responsible for a payment in June when I did everything according to contract, but this location doesn't do their kid effectively as a team

Personal vehicle was damaged, they broke the lock off the uhaul truck and went threw my belongings and things went missing, they put other cards on record without permission. The lock on the unit was cut through and the unit been gone through. Worst experience ever at the hammond location.

Truly terrible customer service. Manager Afton and district manager (?) Debra seem proud of how awful the customer service and communication with customers is. Shady practices and a general lack of transparency cause problems for customers which management refuses to solve and blames the customer. Look at the Google reviews for this place. If the majority of customers are having a problem, it is probably a uhaul problem, not a one off rude person. I'll never use uhaul again and I will never recommend them to a friend. Do better.

The facility was visually very clean and the staff was really nice snd attentive. I should tell there is a but- the climate controlled area did smell like maybe mice in the ventilation system. I think they handled it eventually but when i first arrived it was kind of overwhelming. I was storing a bunch empty containers in prep for moving a store so i didn't think it would matter for my stuff, but if it was furniture or clothing… I might have passed.

The manager at this location I assume is the manager anyway when I rented my unit was absolutely the rudest unprofessional woman I have ever met. So much so I was very uncomfortable with leaving my belongings in the storage unit. Then she over charged me almost 100 dollars I had to call the 1800 number so I could get my money back. The paperwork on the uhaul truck I rented when I rented the unit didn't even match the truck I was given. The woman who I assume was the manager that day 09/30/2022 at around 11:00am when I went in the office to ask what unit number my unit was not only did she not give me the whole number which was building c unit numbers 611-612 she just told be 611 her and her staff actually watched me and my boyfriend and our friend drive around and walk around the whole storage facility for almost 2 hours looking for my unit that was come to find out inside of building c which I was never told after multiple trips inside the office. She and one of her staff actually laughed at us as they just watched us. Some of my belongings I found out when I moved out of the unit where damaged and broken because it took us so long to find the unit without any help from staff we where running out of time alloted for the uhaul truck that we rented a was told couldn't be extended so we couldn't pack our belongings in the unit as they should have been neatly and carefully because doing so we would have had to pay for another day on the uhaul truck. Which the woman tried to do anyway when she overcharged me for the truck anyway. And last but not least after moving out of my unit on 10/29/2022 I was charged 50 dollars for a cleaning fee when I swept out the unit myself when we finished emptying the unit which I have been unable to get refunded back to me. I will never rent from this uhaul again. It was the worst uhaul experience I have ever had. And I will not be recommending this uhaul place to anyone. Thank you for your time and be blessed.

With everything being as I checked in the beginning of this survey, I would have preferred the contract amount to remain the same. I increased the insured amount but the monthly amount was also increased in the middle of the pandemic.

Ronni Kay was my sales person for this. She was friendly and helpful i wanted to look at the storage spaces because i have to see how big they are i cant picture the size. She took me to look and stayed friendly. The only thing i would suggest maybe get a golf cart to ride the walk was a little to much i have a neck injury and its hard to walk that far. Other than that everything was great.

My rent was due on July 4 and I pick up the RV on the 5th. They still wanted me to paid the hole month of rent because it was already due. After arguing about why I had to paid the hole month rent, that it was bue 1 day before and that it was a holiday, they told me "as a courtesy they charge me have the rent.

These people changed the name on a account argued with a customer who was telling them they never showed identification to get the unit. Ran someone else card to pay for the unit they changed the name of & for over a year held onto a storage that was told to them multiple times wasn't needed. If I had more time on my hands I would've filed a lawsuit on this company. I wouldn't rent anything from this company ever in my life. It had a hole in the unit that ruined items. These people or rude & they will change info on your units. Beware of them.

Moved out of storage over 8 months ago. Hammond uhaul 4 month of being gone they charged my credit cart over 400 dollars that I didn't authorize. Spoke with multiple people stating I have move out kept calling stating I had the lock still on the storage unit. I took the lock when I moved out so it was a lie . Your representatives at the Uhaul on SW Railroad in Hammond,la were very friendly and accommodating. They provided me a chair and asked if I wanted water or anything while I waited for my pick up.

The owner and her staff were excellent. The devastating hurricaine did very little damage to her buildings. There was damage to my unit but it was minimal. Just some water came into the unit from the roof causing a little mold to grow on my furnature. But with a good cleaning it will be fine. Much thanks for all they have done for me.

I had storage for 18 months and had zero problems. Also, i just rented a trailer and the staff helped me get the trailer hooked up to my truck and answered all y questions. Great experience.

The sales associates were awesome. They went out of their way to accommodate me! They had run out of the tail light attachments. They were innovative! As a result, I am in my new place!

We had to throw a lot of our belongings away d/t water leak and rats.The leak was supposed to be fixed but not sure.After getting some important stuff out we just left few things in storage. #420

A nice facility. Friendly staff. I didn't like that they require you purchase a specific lock for your unit but other than that it was one great.

POOR.scheduled movers after giving credit card, via phone. Went to see unit before the move and told no such unit available . After checking they found reservation and still said nothing available.
