They were severely understaffed when I arrived at about 3:05 pm. I didn't get my trailer until about 4:30 as DeLonzo had to take care of everyone inside first and then get all the trailers/trucks. DeLonzo was amazing by the way and seems to really love his job. I enjoyed working with him and it was not his fault that they were understaffed.

TIM WThe Truck that I rented needs engine and transmission maintenance bad. Inside the cab and the box had not been detailed in who knows how long. Also, the ride was so rough the entire way, that I'll need a chiropractor now.

JOHN AService was outstanding. Doing the online reservation made things so easy. I walked in signed a paper. Guy walked me right out to the trailer and hooked me up. Coming back, pulled in guy looked at the trailer. Did paperwork right there in the parking lot and help me drop off trailer. Less than eight minutes. Outstanding!
ROBERT RTrailer had some dents/minor damage and remnants of prior loads in it ( a few rocks and concrete bits), but that was just fine for my purposes. Didn't bother me at all. The staff got me in and out quickly, even finding some parts for my hitch, and they got me checked back in fast at the drop-off for returns. Very efficient.

KENNETH EThe absolute best storage experience I've ever had! Loved the fact that it was climate controlled. I have already recommended Uhaul's storage to many people. If I am ever in need of storage in the future, I will return.

Tried recently to set up a trailer rental on the app. App says unable to complete at this time. Tried on the computer and it say unable to complete at this time. Then started getting emails about limited supply.... Drove to store and someone confirmed my reseration. 2 days later when I go to get the trailer. No Reservation. Luckily there was on available.

Jeffrey SThe interaction with the one of your employees (overweight black man 20 something) was horrible, right after I walked in the store I felt intimidated, he wasn't behind and there 3 (one girl, Tony and a trainee) other people behind the counter, as I walked to counter he must of asked me 7 time if I needed help (Annoying) to cut the tension I told him I was beyond help, the other employees laughed and I started working with a person at the counter and the manager Tony was helping my counter person ( a trainee) However, the 20 something black man started telling everyone in the store that I was beyond help. I think he felt slighted and wanted to get back at me and wouldn't let it go; I ignored him as best I could. Tony and the Trainee finished my paperwork and hooked up the tow dolly with no problems (good work, just what you would expect) But I don't feel comfortable and would most likely go out of my way to find a different rental company then go back there Not after that experience. That twenty something overweight black man is a poor representative of your organization, and I feel given the chance he would have physically assaulted me let alone the verbal harassment I had to put up with one more minute talking to him I would walked away, he's a real problem.

VALERIE EIt was a bad experience with U-Haul staff at Worcester location in MA, they put wrong UBox and due to his mistake he postponed delivery but unloading contractor said he can’t do it on next day, I have to end up finding another agency with almost double price , delayed delivery and more money I spent then what was I should have paid for.
Satyanarayana RLagging in paperwork completion time but may be normal for Sunday? Trailer was returned before noon 4/27 and receipt shows time as after 9 PM on 4/27. No problem on charges because it was due 4/28.
SUSAN TWe first went to a worker who did not know how to answer most questions or do anything with storage. The lady that took over seemed to know how to do it all and did a good job!

JOSE RI was extremely nervous to rent a Uhaul because I'm only familiar with small cars and I have never used this service before. Gavin helped me out and did an AMAZING job. He was very helpful, friendly, and eased the fear I had. Driving the truck was easier than I thought and it went really smoothly. Drop off was also easy and once again, Gavin helped me out and made sure the return was easy. Customer service was so great and now I know that I can come back whenever I need a Uhaul again! Thank you again, Gavin, for all of the help today!
SAVANNAH YThe only reason my experience was not excellent was the gentleman who assisted me with my checkout. I found him borderline rude and unhelpful.
CLINTON TOnly complaint was broken glass in the bed of the trailer.
ROBERT BWe had an unusual situation due to issues with the original trailer. We had to go to the Jackson location to switch to a different trailer, as set up for us by the dispatch personnel at corporate. When I explained it and gave my notes to the woman at the Jackson site, she first said that they don't do that, and her tone of voice was curt and dismissive, and rude. Once she spoke with the manager and he saw the notes, I was shifted to another woman, who was very polite, and who completed the paperwork. During this time, my husband was in the drop off area with the original trailer. A male employee went up to him, we believe it was the manager, and began to actually yell at him about something about the secretary of state and that he shouldn't be in the drop off area. My husband had no idea what the man was talking about and looked confused. He told the man he had no idea what he was talking about and that we were just there to switch trailers. Note that the manager never verified who he was speaking to, he just started yelling (and I mean actually yelling). They demanded that we pay for both trailers and insisted that we had to get a refund at the Flint office for the first trailer, although the notes from dispatch stated that we were not to be charged for the second trailer. We just wanted to get out of there, so we paid and dealt with the refund when we turned in the trailer in Flint.

JOHN CI rented a motorcycle trailer. The description and pictures where completely different. That was a utility trailer without the bevel or chock. Not even a tire strap.

When I later was able to empty the 5' unit, I was informed that there would be no cost reduction because those two were considered as one unit in their system. So I would need to be reassigned a different 10' unit, and move all my belongings into that. Ridiculous!

KENNETH LI had a good experience with the staff and the pickup and return process. It was very easy and staff was very friendly. The truck was a bit wobbly and the doors to the cab were hard to close. I had to slam them shut. Other than that, I would recommend this location!

JUSTIN BTruck had bad tire message entire time, could view odometer. Wait inside, to close storage units, very long! Waited over 30 minutes while cashier waited on one person she knew talked way too much. Needed another person, total 4-5 customers waiting.
Debra i | Expérience généraleThey were very helpful with switching me to a new truck very apologetic for the experience I had, they felt terrible, they weren't sure why my pick up location was switched because they said they had 41 one way trucks available when I was told there were none available hence why my pickup location was switched. Brian brushed all the snow off the uhual truck for me and drove it into the loading dock for me so I could load the storage unit there.

I have rented multiple trucks during moving and dread when I have to get in front of John. Talks to customers like they're stupid and like he's ready to shut the place down instead of help. According to other reviews I'm clearly not the only one. Fire this guy and get someone who can treat customers with respect. I'd rather store make 100 trips in a Honda Civic rather than rent a truck from John again. -1000/10.

There was no other instruction about deactivating alarms. There was no map to tell me where my unit was before I got there. So I ended up making more work for myself by not being aware of an alternative drive in entrance that was much closer to my unit.

No mention was made that a lock would be provided for free if I completed the move-in online.

Also, most staff went above and beyond to work with individual situations, and that's so appreciated at a time when things are hectic and stressful with moving!! However, the prices for storage and far too expensive. I've had storage units over the years from Indiana, to Michigan, to New York (the cost of living there is three times the cost of the Midwest) and the storage units here are by far the highest.

Tavita T | Premières impressionsThe Assistant manager talked to me like I was illiterate then she explained to me like I could only use one machine to swipe my card when I went out there to swipe my card it was froze there I had to go back to the office and someone else told me I could of just swiped my card inside then when I went back out there I couldn’t move the lock over to open the door so I went back to the office the assistant manager was frustrated and told me she couldn’t go out there with me just get something and bang on the door and try and open it so I tried that and it still didn’t work so I went back up there a third time now I’m mad and Melissa was out there and I walk in yelling at this point so Melissa was very nice and pleasant and she told me she had to punch out and then she came out and helped me get the door open and told me she would be there the next day if I needed any more help.

Noone knew anything about it when we got there. We did get the boxes brought out so we could unload them but it was a hassle. Also I was supposed to get a call from the location about the payment on my uboxes on Tuesday or Wednesday but noone called me. So I just paid almost $400 for the 3 boxes even tho I only had them for 2 days after the payment. I was very dissatisfied with the fact I had to pay $400 for 2 days of having the boxes.

I had problems with my storage unit from the MOMENT I signed the lease, and wouldn't have signed at all if I wasn't stuck. The people working never answer the phone, and have such an awful attitude. And when I tried to call your corporate number for customer service, it was an equally awful experience and I was stuck dealing with it. Finally able to move my things out - NEVER giving your company another time of my money or second of my time, EVER.

Also, I wanted to share that Ryan is an incredible leader at the Ames Iowa Uhaul site located at Duff. Ryan works harder than most people who own businesses. He either owns the Uhaul and/or he's passionate about making the moving experience a good one. Honestly, when it comes to me moving, Uhaul has a very happy and determined staff - set on making moves easy, friendly and efficient. I appreciate the way Uhaul handles things and swear that this is one of America's unsung essential services that really needs a round of national applause, and if all goes as planned; I intend to share this message with leadership in the government. It seems to me that moving is one of the most stressful times in a persons life span. Uhaul has, so far, never let me down. Uhaul: I'm impressed you allow people to set a promissory note. In Ames, and in Jackson, there was no hate or degrading comments for the person who asked about that matter. Nationally, who does that?; unless you declare your a business (not many companies). I am a new business owner and this move is establishing a new business where demand exists for the services we offer. In a Pandemic, to have a moving company behave in that way makes the entire rental experience more meaningful and significant in humanitarian ways. Merci!
Tamara M | Expérience généraleAfter moving my stuff in, about a month later we went to check on it and it was infested with roaches, in which we were told we had to treat ourselves. When moving out we had set a arrangement up to move our stuff out a few days after the rent was due but we explained we had to go out of state for a funeral and they were fine with it. When we went to move our stuff out they "had no recollection of the conversation " and forced us to pay a months worth of rent that we weren't going to use. The owner/manager John is NEVER there. Everyone was rude but one lady who works part time.

I was dumbfounded and knew at three months they sell off my stuff .... this is wrong of uhaul not to work with people when life is so bad right now ! shame shame on uhaul.... but big plus and a gold star to the only employee Teresa that was kind and very helpful thank you to her

I spent going on 3 hours trying to cancel my storage unit because i didn't have the time to go over to the office. They were friendly when we were there, otherwise it was like they never existed.
