It took more than 1h to find my contract and reservation, and to be able to begin downloading. Also when I made the reservation (+1month in advance) I thought it was properly reserved for me , and when arrived they told me than another one arrived earlier and picked up my storage, so I needed to upgrade. Wrong instructions on the website

The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their directions were very clear. The trailer worked very well and was well maintained but had a small layer of dirt on the wheel wells which could have been cleaned off. Every time I have used this site things have always been excellent. The site was extremely busy so I suspect it was just an oversight. Thanks again for the great rental experience.

Very disappointing experience. I originally asked to rent a 10' truck, but the representative convinced me to take a van instead, claiming I'd only pay $0,49 per mile for the first 100 miles, which would save money. I agreed based on that info. When I got the contract, the total was $89, even though it should've been $69 ($49 for mileage + $20 for the van). I questioned it right away, and the rep admitted I was right but said he couldn't fix it now and would handle it with his manager later. In the end, I was charged $194 for two days and 170 miles - far more than what was discussed. When I returned the van and explained the situation to the site manager, he was rude, impatient, and completely unwilling to listen or acknowledge the mistake. He seemed more interested in shutting down the conversation than resolving the issue. I felt misled, overcharged, and disrespected. I expected more transparency and basic professionalism from U-Haul. I won't be renting from this location again.

U-Haul Moving and Storage at Miramar is a very good choice for long term storage. I rented 2 spaces, 10' x 20' x 8' for 11 years, from 2014 to 2024. Whenever I visited or called, management and staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. My furniture and possessions never, ever showed any trace of insect or animal intrusion. In fact, the temperature controlled storage showed tiny traces of dust, if any - which was a bonus when I moved out. The halls and premises were well maintained, free of debris, clean, and orderly at every visit I made. I required moving assistance when it was time to downsize and depart San Diego - Edward Tomlinson facilitated my movers, encouraging them to use the convenient Loading Dock (I was uncertain about access). It made the move so much easier. I noticed Mr. Tomlinson is always available by phone, and keeps very much "on top" of any issues that come up. That's very important when meeting movers who are on a tight schedule. I arrived very early one morning & Mr. Tomlinson was at the automatic entry doors with repairmen en route (someone had damaged the doors overnight) He made sure my movers had trouble free entry when I greeted them at 10:00am. I appreciate that things happen - but his prompt attention ensured normal, easy access for tenants. That's great customer service. My move out was necessary due to changes in my extended family. I'm sorry to leave San Diego. However, I am grateful for the excellent service from U-Haul Miramar. Thank you for requesting feedback.

We walked into this location without a reservation and were treated nicely and you had plenty of rental options for us. We had started at Budget, where not only did they not have the truck I rented but our options were an uncharged electric van or a wildly oversized truck because everything else they had was broken and inoperable. Your truck was clean and easy to work with and we were able to get everything moved easily in a few hours. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and professional. I would definitely come back the next time I need a rental truck.

I was not able to pick up the Truck on Sunday night due to another truck being parked in front of the truck issued to me. I was able to pick up the truck Monday morning at 7 am. When I checked the truck the hand truck and furniture dolly were not loaded. The person who was helping me was able to get me the items quickly

The only thing that I would improve on would be to make sure that the fuel gauge is where it's supposed to be. The fuel gauge was an eighth of a tank lower than the paperwork. With a price of gas these days it is very important to make sure that the paperwork matches the truck's gauge.

On the contract there was a guide for how much gas to put in to bring it back to the level it was at when we rented it. I put in exactly the recommended amount (10 gallons) to bring the tank from 1/4 full to 1/2 full. The recommended amount was at least 2 gallons too much. So U-Haul gets 2 free gallons of gas from us. This is unethical at minimum, and should be illegal. Please correct the guidance on the contract.

I still have not received the final receipt that I was told would be emailed to me when I dropped off the truck. I did not use all my estimated mileage and should be getting a small refund (only about $5 so no real big deal). Home Depot has a better and clearer process for checking in the vehicles.

Only issue was after hours drop off. I think a lot of people showed up after hours and just left equipment wherever they felt it was good instead of in an orderly way. I barely managed to find a spy for the trailer return. Besides that, staff was great.

This Uhaul Storage facility has been REALLY GREAT! Nice staff and great service all around. I would recommend it to anyone. The prices are a little higher, but its not everywhere that you can also rent a truck to move your stuff too, which is a major plus.

I asked for 8 weeks straight to get the lights fixed in the hallway right above my storage and they purposely choose to change lights of people who didn't even pay rent than to change mines. The excuse by the manager (white male with Grey bear) told me he had some and he would do it and had some on order. I asked in person 7 times and over the phone 4. Was not done until I made the manager come put them up so I could see inside my storage unit. When people who don't make their rent have the privilege of having lights why should I be even paying my rent then?

Edward and the staff were excellent. They were kind and helpful as I was moving out especially after a leak in the roof which affected some of my belongings in one of the 2 units I had been renting. That happened earlier this year out late last year. I would rent from this location again.

So…at some point the credit card I had in file expired, and your team apparently cut my lock and put their own on. So even though I updated with a new card almost a year ago and was up to date on all my payments, your team claimed to not know how that lock got on there or why. Then they didn't want to cut the lock off for me. Wasted hours of my life trying to resolve that. Eventually I got to empty my stuff out and went to close out the contract. And when doing so I saw on their screen where it asked if the user was in the military. So I ask, "why would you need to know that?" To which they responded with, "because we have a military discount, did nobody ask you that when you rented the storage space?" To which I responded, "of course not!" So… by my calculations I lost out on about $288. But at least I had rude employees there to deal with on top of it. This is probably just one example of why the overall review on this particular establishment is 1-2 stars, depending on where you look. Lots of room for improvement at this place. Hope this helps.

I have rented a storage unit at U-haul of Miramar for 3 and a half years. I have been very happy right from the start especially with the outstanding service here! When I first moved in an issue arose that I had inadvertantly neglected to properly lock and secure my unit. I received a call from the manager right away and when I explained I was living on the east coast and could not come in and correct the issue, he told me not to worry, that he could handle it for me (removing the old lock and putting a new one on the unit and holding the keys for me in the office. More recently I have been spending a great deal of time at the storage unit as I have been clearing out unit in preparation for a move back across the country to the east coast. Over the past month I have been there nearly every day and I have had many interactions with various members of the staff here. Everyone has been helpful, attentive, personable and generous with their time. The manager, Caroline, has been always professional, prompt and efficient in handling issues; she has been very generous and kind as well. She deserves recognition too, for taking good care of all the many details that also contribute to making this business exceptional. The facility is kept clean (even the bathroom is spotless!); and the temperature is always comfortable. The best thing of all of though is all of the people who work here, and what a great job they do of taking care of customers. I truly am going to miss all of them.

Your utility elevator should be out of service if its paperwork isn't up to date. It expired last year in April. So it's been a year with it out of regulation. And there is no one who can be called after hours. The first guy gave me a military discount of 10 % and the second guy said there was no such thing. So that was confusing.

Came to your U-Haul because of Drive-By Advertising by seeing your well-maintained clean Storage Facility from the Street; Plus your Staff is Friendly & Great to work with. The only complaint is your Accounting Software -- It needs replacing & updating; PLUS each new & old Staff Member should be trained on your current Computer Software that you have so they know how to correctly use it when handling customer transactions. Y'all tried to have my drop off location 60 miles from where I was going. Got it changed to a better spot and requested storage. They didn't reserve me storage and the location didn't have storage for me. Got it changed to a spot further away with only 30 minutes before close. Got there and they weren't sure they had storage for me. The whole thing was a mess. Luckily I got the last unit. Would not recommend

The storage unit I reserved was not available on my arrival. This is absolutely unacceptable. What is someone to do if, as in my case, they drive 2500 miles and then do not have the unit they reserved? Dump their belongings on the street? Luckily I was able to make other arrangements... Would not recommend this facility or UHaul storage to anyone.

I greatly appreciate the effort and offer Francis made to allow me to stay a little longer before moveout. My life since April 2020 has been the most financially, physically, and mentally challenging in my 60 year life thus far. I gave away a lot of good furniture in the facility's community area, as well as a few items to a U-Haul employee. You hold out, hoping things turn around in your life, and nothing happens. Thank You, U-Haul corporate and the Miramar U-Haul facility for the storage unit move out offer. I've rented about 40 U-Haul trailers in the past 4 years or so. I'm sorry you incurred a financial loss in my storage unit rent on my behalf. I'm looking forward to seeing brighter days ahead in my life. I am a long term U-Haul customer. Thanks Again. My storage unit was broken into and when I told the employees they didn’t have any cares they just told me a manager would and the manager never called I went to him about a week and half later and he tells me I am waiting o. IT and the about 2 weeks later he tells me I need a subpoena to see the tapes your storage facility is bulkshit you guys don’t care and you should take the sign off that says we record to help if this situation happens and that is a lie I was told I need a subpoena and there are no cameras here my unit was I just bought over 1500 dollars of brand new decorations and plus the ones I had I there all gone and I was treated very crappy but the employees and no one helped me so now I am going g to seek a lawyer or I am going to the news because I think the employees are on drugs or something worse situation ever I paid my storage on time never late and I get treated like this hate to see how you treat people who don’t pay

The Manager and the male behind the counter that assisted me were communicative prior to my arrival, when I arrived and during the time I was there. They were very attentive to my need, let me choose my space from a map he has highlighted prior to my arrival, I let him know what I needed and he pointed my to the best one available that met my needs. I had been stressing out about the move because I sold my house and promised to be out for the buyers by 8/31 but my escrow still have closed on my new home so I had been staying up until 2-3am the few days before the actual move day and was running behind schedule. They were very accommodating and changed the MI date from 8/31 to 9/1 and gave me a few hours grace period on the truck return. They put me at ease had that had a really positive impact on my move into storage. Sal the check in attendant was excellent as well. Over all I received excellent customer service above and beyond of what I was expecting given my past experiences. Merci.

I've utilized this facility several times in the past, always a great experience but this time I was serviced by a man who wasn't all that friendly. Not sure if he was having a bad day but his attitude was dry and unwelcoming, thus his attitude was transferred unto me and I felt unwelcome there.

I needed help navigating through some issues with my storage unit and no one helped. I called multiple times a day and throughout the week to try and talk with someone/anyone from the front office and they never responded to my inquiries. I have moved out of this storage unit and will be advising other to never do business at this location. Poor customer service.

With no cameras and no Solid ceiling I had $20 000 worth of bicycles removed out of my storage through the wire roof I don't know when This happened I have not been to my storage in over a year but I got a phone call from the facility saying there's a possible break in so I was able to send a friend to look and there's a big open spot on the floor where the bikes were and a big opening in the chicken wire ceiling. Because of the value of the bikes I called the police they went and investigated and there were no cameras up in the ceiling so there's no evidence of who took them Will it be in an air condition controlled facility I understand they might not be able to secure The ceiling or they would have to have some ventilation in the ether individual room but there's no excuse not to have video coverage above the units

I wish I know the the moving van cannot get into the indoor parking lot of most apartment buildings before I rent it. The moving carts inside the storage building are very helpful. I wish I can rent them out to move our furniture down from the apartment.

Very stressful in time of Covid 19 , I'm legally deaf and it makes it almost impossible to communicate as I read lips , the person who checked me in was so patient and helpful even recommend to me where I could find help to unload my heavy furniture ! Thank you so very much !

When moving in and out of the unit, the automatic lights would always turn off really quickly. So we would always have to go and motion in front of the sensor for the lights to turn back on

VERY disorganized! The left hand does not know what the right had is doing.I stood there waiting for over 15 minutes to simply be checked out while the 3 staff members were arguing. Unprofessional!

We received notices often that we hadn't paid. I called and was told each time, payments are current. There seemed to be a disconnect between corporate office and MM office. We moved to A-1 Storage.

I've had this storage facility for 23 years and have been very please with being with UHaul. This year A-Joy has been exceptionally helpful in trying to make my move from California to Colorado easier

The young man (last name Boykin) was very helpful. He offered to back my 20 foot truck up to the loading dock and helped me add air to my dolly tires making my move out easier.

Everything was good although waiting was an unnecessary surprise in my opinion. Most times the front desk was well staffed with exception to last check out. They were courteous.

I recommend having the front automatic doors to be open during normal working hours. It was really annoying swiping the card everytime the door closes and you are moving things from your storage.

Hours are a bit restrictive. You should be able to look up the truck rental on the computer. I had to purchase two locks because the until size I reserved was not available. Should be free.
