JEREMY STeam at this location was dealing with a system wide issue preventing the typical rentals, but they made the entire checkout and return process very smooth! JUAN CI called this location and was told that they closed at 8:00 pm. Even though my 1 way rental from Tucson was for 2 days, I told U haul that I would be returning the vehicle to Scottsdale the same day in the evening. Arriving at 7:50 pm, hurrying to arrive before closing and preferring to be checked in by an employee instead of using the after hours drop off, I was met by an employee who rudely said, "we're closing in 10 minutes, download the U Haul app and follow the instructions for dropping off". 20 minutes later, having to navigate a very user unfriendly app and having to take 8 pictures and uploading (1 of the mileage, 1 of the fuel level, 1 of the interior of the cab, 1 of the interior of the cargo area, and 1 of all 4 exterior sides of the vehicle), I was finally on my way home. My overall experience with U Haul on this rental was HORRIBLE!

Patrick AMy review has nothing to do with the location. I reserved a certain size trailer at the Arcadia location. Two days prior to our pick-up we were informed the closest location for our specific reservation was over 2 hours away. We wound up having to choose a smaller trailer and pickup at a location 30 minutes from our initial reservation. Just bad business.
RYAN OWe were Overcharged by $55. the employee tried calling corporate as they agreed we were overcharged. It hasn't been solved yet. I believe, it was corporate not the location employee that was the issue. We waited for approx 2 hrs for the issue to be looked into.and When picking up the truck after the 2 hrs, we still had to wait while for the truck while the employee was helping others that came in after us first.
GREGORY JI selected mobile pick-up over counter pick-up. When I arrived, the truck assigned to us was sandwiched between two other trucks, so we had to wait in line at the counter after all. We had to ask for the blankets we had pre-rented, and we had to gather the supplies we had pre-paid for. That might be my misunderstanding, but I assumed that by doing all of these things ahead of time meant that everything would be ready for us. Outside of these things, the guys were super friendly and jumped on top of everything as soon as they were able. Th truck was awful. The inside had not been cleaned since at least the last driver. The center console and steering wheel were sticky with what we assumed was soda. Once we started to clean it (after paying $1500 to rent this thing), we realized it was syrup. Disgusting. The alignment was so far off that the steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle when driving straight. Long story short: NEVER AGAIN.
Aidan BThe staff were very accommodating when I need to increase the size of truck from a 15' to 20' and change the pickup date. The retail space was well stocked with boxes, moving blankets, and most everything one would need. Couldn't be better.

MATTHEW HI reserved online for pickup at the Pinnacle Peak location. I even received an email confirmation for that site. I was called the day before to say you didn't have the size I reserved but they would honor that price for a larger one at the same location (the larger one was reflected on the email). I also ordered and paid for a ball and sleave. When I arrived, they looked up my reservation and said it was for the Haydon store. They tried to help but suggested I just go make the drive back to the Haydon store (I just drove by there on my way home). When I arrived, I was greeted by a gal (I think her name was Marie?) and joked with her about the mix up. She tried to figure it out while the guy next to her kept coming up with excuses. It was not a big deal at that time. However, his excuses were irritating, just a sorry would be fine. Meanwhile, Marie was nice enough to give me a small discount for my trouble. I then said, "what about my ball and sleave". She looked it up and said it wasn't on there. She did find that it was ordered and paid for at the Pinnacle store (again, I had done it all online and it was the same order). The other guy chimed in to say, there is nothing they could do, i would have to go back to that store to pick it up. Now I was upset. He was suggesting that I go to the other store to pick up a ball (I was standing in a store full of balls) than return with it to pick up the trailer. I just said, sell me another ball and I would deal with it at corporate (I still believe the issue was on your computer ordering system). Meanwhile, while he was making excuses and telling me why they couldn't do anything Marie was calling the other store, canceling the purchase and getting me a credit. She then sold me a ball there. I appreciated her wiliness to get it done. Thank you, Marie, (I hope I got her name correct).
RONALD CWe reserved a 9:00 am time for trailer hitch install and when we arrived at that time they said we would need to come back at 1:00 pm for the install because they double booked. Nothing was initially offered to resolve the issue. After getting upset they kept our appointment for the hitch. We had the same experience with the trailer at this location. We reserved a 4x8 trailer to take with us after the hitch install. The rep only said they did not have one and offered that we would get one 70 miles away and nothing was initially offered to resolve the issue. After getting upset a second time they offered to give us a 6x12 for the price of our 4x8 that we reserved. It was a miserable experience given that we had a tight schedule to pack up and move my daughter and we didn't have any extra time to do anything other than what we reserved. That is why we reserved the hitch and trailer at those specific times.

BENJAMIN DTerrible experience, first the local dispatcher took us to kota a apartment complex, not the main hub to pick up our 10foot truck, they had one truck, no one there, and couldn't get it then, then had to drive 15 miles to another location one above, then spent 10 minutes looking for the correct vehical , on top of that we were charged for additional 38 miles, which i told them excatly where we were going, terrible all around, except counter gal at above location was very nice

STEPHEN CI reserved a 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer online, and my reservation was confirmed. However, when I arrived to pick it up, I was extremely disappointed to find that there were none available on the lot. To make matters worse, the staff seemed indifferent to the situation and offered no real explanation or apology. While I was given a 6x12 open trailer as an alternative, I had specifically reserved the enclosed trailer due to time constraints and transport needs. A confirmed reservation should guarantee availability, and the lack of accountability caused significant inconvenience.
MATTHEW BPut a handle to close the door of the trailer. Every time we open and closed the door our hands got greasy and dirty. The trailer needs to be updated.

The experience is good as always I only ask that when someone commits to doing something like removing a piece of rental equipment like a piano dollies in my case, that you actually do so as I still am having to take time to get this resolved as I have not heard back from my email inquiry.

JOHN TSome staff were helpful, others were misinformed our not knowledgeable of return process nor did they take the time to understand where I had already parked the trailer for return. Instead, they had me go to the return line where I was then told to go park it with the other trailers. That's where I had parked it initially!!

You can tell he really cares about his job and the people he's helping. If you're going to this U-Haul, ask for Josh - he's seriously the best!
ISAAC STowed the Trailer from Phoenix to Midland Ontario with no problems. The drop off was quick and the agent was pleasant.

JOSEPH CI rented a transport trailer. The first trailer I asked if air pressure had been checked in the tires the answer was no and upon checking the tires one was low on air and another had a nail sticking out of the tread. On the second trailer They hooked me up and I drove to where I was loading my car and thought I should make sure the lights work. Which they did not so after a phone call I was told I had to return the trailer 17 miles to the u-haul lot with not all the lights working. When I arrived at the lot nothing about the inconvience was said. A person went out and checked the lights and found they didn't work. He told another guy to fix the problem, and he did.

Geoffrey DThe guys lost my reserved truck keys and gave me a different truck to take. That truck didn't have my dolly or furniture pads I paid for inside. I had to drive all the way back to U-Haul to get them. The attendant on the phone said "I'd get the dolly and furniture pads for free because of the inconvenience". Well my receipt doesn't reflect that discount at all. Very misleading location and wasted my time here because their team messed up.

DANIEL WThere was no parking. There were no signs on where to return the U-Haul. And then they charged more for not taking their calculated route. Don't try getting off the highway for a coffee! You'll pay more with no warning. They are greedy like everyone else. It's not like their trucks are inexpensive to begin with.
STACY HI returned the vehicle at the same fuel level as I picked it up (I took pictures as proof). I was charged 4 gallons. I tried calling the email provided to contact the manager but I got an email stating that my email was undeliverable because the account was full and could not accept any more emails.

I have but on e significant, too me, issue. A week before closing my account I made a payment, $149 for the next monthly billing period. Upon checking out I assumed the unused time would be prorated and I would receive the related non-applicable amount of payment would be returned to me. The clerk conveyed this was not your policy and U-Haul would keep the balance, which in my case is approximately $100, give or take. I find your "policy" grievous. It undoubtedly iburied somewhere in the Agreement, which I and I assume most clients do not read as it would require an attorney to interpret its content. Simply summarized, my regard for U-Haul has taken a sharp u-turn after many years of availing myself of your services. He told me it was after hours and he wouldn't help. He also told me the screen on the login unit would be replaced soon since the screen was unreadable. Two years later it was still the same. I would never want to use any other company.The pricing is higher than the other brands when it comes to storage but the personal service more than makes up for it. This is a real post not paid . This Scottsdale location has set the bar very high on quality and service. Definitely worth every penny. Stop by and see Anna, Francisco, Roxann Alan and a whole host of awesome employees… Can't say enough.

I told him I wanted to get everything done so all I have to do is unload. I didn't open the link for my drivers lic right away and had to go back an hr later. At that time I asked again to complete the process. He took down all my info but didn't charge me. The next day I tried to open the door and was denied. I went into the office and another Clerk took my payment, showed me how to open the doors and was extremely helpful.

Then escorted us to our unit and noticed one closer to the elevator with more space to maneuver and switch us to that one. She showed us the correct way to sign in and out. And she did it in minutes.

Two separate key pads 20 feet apart, each has to have 7 digit number entered to open the doors. The card they gave me would NOT open the doors the first day -- well that's the day you move the most stuff. We had to use the TWO key pads no less than 20 times to get in.

They credited my card but was not able to provide me with a receipt. I went back to make sure that I would not get auto billed each month for the smaller unit. It was difficult to imagine that this could happen since I explained that I had 100 boxes to store and everyone there believed I should go with the larger unit which also made sense to me. There was no way to know that this was happening because I was told that I would be getting a discounted rate the 1st month and then pay the regular amount each month thereafter. That was not the case when I rented the 2nd unit.

I loaded up my car and dropped my husband off at Home Depot then i went to my location. After having a reservation for months, they didn't call to tell me they didn't have my size unit. I could pay $110 more a month for a size I didn't need, but no thanks! So I had to go to one 25 minutes north of my house AND we couldn't get anything we needed at Home Depot bc my car was still loaded. On top of this, I couldn't get back to pick my kids up on time bc I didn't have any place for them to sit, so i was scrambling there. I ended up spending 4 1/2 hours trying to get into a locker and all because no one called to tell me to go somewhere else, and i had 8 Rubbermaid totes, that's it. Then on top of that, the place they sent me in the end was $15 more a month for that same size and it wasn't even climate controlled! The first one was, how does that even figure?! And I wasn't told that when I left the first place for the second. So while I rate your staff with excellence for friendliness, the experience was pretty awful. Any day this would have been annoying, but we're moving and have a million things to do, this shouldn't have been such a Process!

The worker who initially set up my account/ storage unit was very impolite and wanted to do as little work as possible. Any question was met with a very annoyed response. The experience I had here was no doubt a direct result of the manager who wouldn't allow me to leave the storage unit unlocked and with nothing in it for about a half hour whilr I went and got my lock and items I was storing in the unit. When calling into this store to try and move out I had to call in 4 times, each were met with an employee putting me on hold for over 20 minutes each time before I hung up. I never got threw to them once and had to call into the main U haul number to finally check out. I have used U-Haul a bunch of times in the past and my experience was wonderful. Not a single complaint ! This store was so bad that of I did not know how it stacked up to others, I would never use U-Haul again. This is unacceptable and in an incredibly wealthy area like Scottsdale, this entire U-Haul store needs some serious looking into.

I get supply and demand but feel that Uhaul is erring on the side of greed.

We purposely checked in online as we waited in line for over 40 minutes to buy moving boxes the prior weekend and wanted to avoid that wait. When we arrived at the unit, the lock was not in there as stated. We ended up having to go to the office to wait in line for 30 minutes. It was extremely disappointing that we checked in online to avoid the painful wait, yet that is exactly what ended up happening.

She asked me for my address, even though I already have a customer file due to having a storage locker. I said "shouldn't you have that already?" and she said "Sir, I just need your address." She would not even explain how idiotic it is that uHaul does not already have my address handy. I let that go. She wore a facemask BELOW her nose, which is ridiculous. I asked for a pro-rated refund of my storage locker and she said "we don't do that" instead of showing me the contract. I did not push on it. The facility is not clean, the equipment in the main storage area is falling apart. They constantly ask everyone NOT to park where it says "customer parking" and to PARK IN THE STREET which is far less safe. GET your act together.

I would pay tripple that just to get out! Also every time I called store, without fail it was approx 20-25min hold to speak with someone ... even the last day I showed up and no other customers were there... so I hung phone up and walked inside. If I were the store owner or corporate manager I would fire everyone working in the store. Lastly I made a payment on my storage unit in advance and the clerk told me they weren't going to refund my payment of $125. Absolute theft if you ask me. Especially after giving 6 months of my business. The truck had horrible alignment and hadn't been inspected since January of LAST YEAR. The last time I helped a friend move in a uhaul it hadn't been inspected in 5 years and we had a tire blow out while exiting the freeway. Absolutely terrible business. I HATE UHAUL and I will NEVER offer my business ever again and I will steer everyone I have the opportunity another direction.

I will call American Express and issue a chargeback if this is how UHaul and it's staff treats customers.

My email and phone number were the contact information but the unit was in her name. I was told I would have to bring in my mom to show her ID to close the account. I explained my mom was in a senior facility 60 minutes away and this would be a huge problem. Basically I was told they didn't care. So I drove all the way across town and back again with my Mom. Walked in and was then told we don't need to see her drivers license!!! Instead of being contrite, I was met with laughter and the offer of a water! I know we were no longer clients, but you took a pretty good experience and turned it into a terrible experience. Really terrible customer relations!! I would not recommend this location to anyone and a different approach to the bad situation would/could have made all the difference.
