I reserved the trailer at one location and it was moved to another location further away and the opposite direction I was going. It added an hour to my day going back and forth. When a reservation is made at a location it should be kept at that location

I honestly have no suggestions for improvement! The staff couldn't have been more helpful or knowledgeable, and the pick up and return processes were flawless! I smelled a burning like smell while driving. There to much play not enough rpms when it shifts. Check the transmission. Put in 8 gallons only drove 20-25 miles.

The online ordering process was easy and streamlined. The location is on a very busy intersection that is somewhat difficult to enter and exit. We booked the truck for a move, and used the online order service in advance to ensure we had a truck on moving day. As it does, the weather changed dramatically the day we reserved the truck. Heavy wet snow was expected in the afternoon that we had the truck rented. It was good weather when we picked up the truck. We were able to load it and move to our next location before the snow began. The weather began to deteriorate, and the roads became dangerous. We could see that the weather was not supposed to continue into the next day, so we called Uhaul and asked if there was any grace for returning the truck the next day, especially because local authorities had no travel advised. The response from the local uhaul was "you knew it was going to snow, didn't you?" No, in fact, we did not when we reserved the truck. The woman we spoke to seemed very frustrated and angry. Clearly, a weather event wasn't the fault of uhaul, or us, and we were not trying to be difficult. However, some grace would have been appreciated given the weather was also outside of our control. The woman's attitude was very off putting, so much so that we didn't feel comfortable speaking with her, and ended up just extending our reservation online for an additional day. Moving is already difficult, and we didn't want any more stress. Not everyone is intended for customer service work, and perhaps the woman we dealt with isn't the best suited for customer service. We were pleased with the truck, and it served our needs perfectly. But the customer service could use some help.

I was trying to use the app and ran into a problem and ended up having to speak with one of the workers inside. They were super nice and very helpful. They got me situated and helped me find the vehicle as well walk me through the app. The customer service was very much above and beyond and I would definitely recommend this location for anyone moving around in town as well as through looking to move around in general.

First off the person who checked in the vehicle before we picked it up should be fired, the truck was dirty, the steering wheel was not aligned and showed an “advancetrac” error show up on the dashboard, we had a tow dolly as we were towing a vehichle and the straps were very old, one of the straps was so threaded that they replaced the entire strap, also they needed to fix one of the brake lights cause it wasn’t working, Paul from there was very nice and understanding of our frustration and helped us greatly

I regret that no accommodation would be made by U-Haul to change my payment date by just a few days, as if it were done, I could have made on time payments every month instead of being late every month. I get paid on the same days every month and there were reasons I could not get ahead and pay the next month early to avoid these late fees. As a result I ended up paying 90 dollars or so extra total during my rental here. That 15 dollars every month could have been better spent on a lot of other things. Other than that, everything was great. But you should endeavor to be a bit more flexible with a customer when all they want is a minor adjustment to the payment schedule and I don't see any reason why you wouldn't.,

If there's a better Uhaul facility in the USA, I'd be surprised! The entire process was absolutely trouble free and exceeded my expectations. I'm 62 yrs old and pleased to say that the customer service we experienced from Manager Bob McCauley and staff was extraordinary and exemplary! Thank you Bob, it was truly refreshing and I highly recommend this facility!

Paul and the staff were professional, attentive and courtesy during the move process. Great customer service is huge in my book. The storage location is in a safe and easily accessible area in Rapid City. The storage unit is climate controlled and convenient to access. I'm very impressed with the security measures at this location. That only is worth the rental price. But you will be surprised how inexpensive the prices here are compared to other storage locations in and around the area.

I moved my belongings out a week after I had made my monthly payment. I had asked if it would be possible to prorate my payment since it was only a week. The gentleman who helped me was very rude about it. A little help with customer service skills goes a long ways.

Overall it has been between average and above average... But whenever I have dealt with the Deadwood Ave site it has been fantastic. (Have had a variety of challenges over the last two years with different sites, scheduling etc. But it ultimately has been worked out. Just very stressful during what is already a stressful process.)

After a cross country 26' truck and car trailer move BUT not being assigned a garage at our new location Uhaul storage was our option. After being assigned a garage moving out of storage was in increments until the final larger items. There was payment to December 4, 2023 with move out/empty on November 21. Sadly policy is no refund of unused paid for days!

The gentleman who checked me, Damian, from Georgia, if I remember, was very helpful, answered my questions on insurance and I ended up purchasing a lock, as my personal lock was ill shaped for the job.. I mentioned how the Attic and other local places were not open on Saturdays and their availability was limited as well for getting into and out of on my own time. I also met Beau, from St. Francisville, (I used to live in Louisiana as well) outside the storage area. We talked and shook hands, very friendly and helpful. Shared stories of the advantages of living in Rapid, compared to the South. I felt welcome and accepted as I needed a place to store my belongings as I was moving into an apartment the upcoming week. I had ZERO problems, difficulties or concerns each and every time I visited the site to move my belongings. Have used Uhaul numerous times, from renting trailers for statewide moves, to storage areas, even to only purchase packing boxes/tape. UHAUL has set worldwide standards for moving and storage, and I will ALWAYS pick them over any other local or national business.

I had problems with trying to do my move in from the app. When I arrived at the facility, staff was very helpful trying to get my process completed. I do wish I had known that everything had to be pushed up a ramp to get to my unit, But fortunately we had a younger person with us that assisted. But overall the staff was very very good.

I had a storage unit at this location and everything was fine I actually moved out before my 30 days . Next thing you know they decided to charge my card $143 and to make it worst the very next morning I get an email from uhaul with a receipt stating that I didn't get charge nothing. I called and they kept transferring me to other people that couldn't help me and pretty much took my money for no reason. Don't rent from these people. I promise you'll regret it unless your ok with them over charging you. What a bad experience never again . You don't have to take my word for it and go and rent from these people and soon enough you'll be putting a horrible review just like me.

There was a mouse outside my unit however the rest is fine. It is too expensive: I pay that price for a unit four times the size across town.

I wished there was a light in the unit itself. The ramp from the dock was somewhat difficult to move things due to the steep grade, especially going down. Sorta wished there was a service elevator for getting the biggest and bulkiest items like couches down from the second floor. Otherwise had a fantastic experience with this facility. I loved the free-to-use carts this facility offered, they made things a lot easier.

The storage and access to my unit worked perfectly for my schedule. The employees were very approachable, personable and helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance at the Rapid City facility. I love your packing products. I have used your boxes, dish wraps and dividers, mattress and tv covers, tape with dispenser and heavy duty lock. All of these items were of great quality. The boxes are priced reasonably while the others add up quickly. I find these novelty items to be extremely beneficial and will continue to use them. Spoke to Sean on phone about returning trailer, needed to get a storage unit to empty trailer first, he said he had 5x10 units only two left, I said I would take one. He said he had all the info he needed from the trailer reservation, asked if I wanted to use the same credit card, I said yes, he said I was all set. Came in the next day, they said they didn't have a storage unit reserved for me and didn't have any 5x10 units left. Had to get larger unit for twice as much money AND had to push heavy carts up steep ramp to 2nd floor.

I can't say enough about Uhaul in Boise, Idaho and Rapid City, South Dakota. I had an issue causing my one way move be delayed by several days in Boise. They locked up for me and I was able to go locate the truck and simply go about my trip. I was so worried but all was well and no extra fees. Thank you for making sure all was okay.

I was booking online and had a question on the RV storage size Large 13' x 33' x 99'. I wanted to know if this area was large enough for my 33 ft bumper pull travel trailer. I called the location and no one ever answered the phone at the location. I used the chat feature on U-haul and your rep had a difficult time getting an answer. The "manager" told your rep that space was large enough. So we hauled our trailer from our hometown of Watford City, ND to Rapid City, SD only to be told that storage spot is not large enough. I want U-Haul to reimburse us for the inconvenience for our gas of $200.00.

I was unaware that U-Haul would not prorate my month of storage. I've been quarantined twice and was able to get my last six boxes out five days into the new month, leaving 25 days unused. I was doing the responsible thing and staying in for the safety of your staff and other customers and now I have to pay for 25 days of unused time. This is absolutely the worst costumer service I have ever seen. I am now paying for something I don't have access to as I've given my key back and you will re-rent and get more money for, essentially double dipping. I have moved with you twice this year alone not to mention at least 10 moves in the last 20 years, it is so frustrating to see that my $72 is worth more to you than a long time loyal customer, not to mention doing the right thing during a global pandemic. I have lodged a formal complaint and am waiting to hear back on a resolution, I hope that one can be made. This is absolutely ridiculous. #Uhaulfamous ...indeed.

The storage unit we reserved wasn't available. We had to take a different one that had stairs. One of our helpers couldn't use stairs. We had to have things moved in order to drive our trailer thru the lot. Both people working did their job but didn't explain or apologize for not having the unit we had reserved. It was frustrating.

I needed storage that would not freeze but didn't necessarily need temp controlled. This was wonderful and so much cleaner than most outside storage units that get dusty and dirty. It was also nice to be able to use the carts so you don't have to carry everything to the unit.

The physical location and staff were convenient and great. Staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, the outdoor storage option failed to fit the website's description and our needs. Access was limited to store hours only. U-Haul employees locked and unlocked the gate each morning and night. Tenants did not has afterhours access or the extended our similar to indoor storage.. Our 33 feet of space was limited by storage crates placed between the building and the rented lot space. The outdoor storage setup is definitely more ideal for a passenger vehicle over a RV or trailer. The owner does offer a military discount of 10 %, which is nice. Overall, above average experience. Unfortunately, the outdoor storage limitations caused us to move on within less than a month.

So my experience was great in terms of customer service. The facilities are clean. However why in the heck is there a support beam in the middle of the hallway blocking my unit? It definitely was a hindrance. I worried about scratching or ruining my larger belongings. Very inconvenient. And despite everything else being great, this really ruined the experience. Like no thought was put in to how they built this place. Now I have to work my way around it when I move out of storage too. What a pain.

Upon getting the unit, staff was helpful. Office closes a little early. Staff (3)was locking up as we arrived to empty the unit, saw us and disappeared without asking if we needed help while I parked.

Everything is great other than the reason for no longer using storage unit is it’s too pricey.. I now have a much larger storage unit for half the price that is also a secured facility..

They put me on the second floor: 1) My age 74 2) lighting would not stay on to see to sort 3) incline to get my boxes, bins, etc to my car & bring them back until renting trlr to take to Ogden UT

I am 74 years of age and they gave me a storage unit on the second floor with a huge ramp. I guess because I was not going to be there beyond 30 days that they decided to put me on the second floor.
