The check engine light came on halfway to my destination. I was lucky the truck didn't break down. The truck was clean.

When they texted on Saturday to confirm our Sunday pick up, they changed the location of the pick up - i asked about the Dolly. They said they couldn't guarantee it. They suggested I call the original location, which i did. The phone recording transferred me to the central call center and I spoke to a nice woman. I shared my concern about making sure we would have the dolly at the new location. She had me wait on hold for 30-45 minutes periodically coming back to share more information. She confirmed that the new pick up location would have a Dolly for us. She even called the location back to reiterate the fact that we needed a dolly. She re confirmed with them that's in fact the dolly would be in the back of the trailer. Guess what? We showed up to get the trailer and you guessed it. No Dolly. I texted the U-Haul person that had reached out to me on Saturday (Kevin). He said I should call the original location to see if they have a dolly for me. What? This was a total mess and on the end we had no dolly. Please make sure you didn't charge us for one. After this mess, the trailer should have been a no charge as well. Very disappointing.
Jason PThere was a beam going directly through our storage unit, that took up several feet of square footage. The u-haul location that was chosen for us was also not the original one we had chosen, and was 40 minutes away from our new house.

I also made a reservation several days in advance, and when I arrived to pick up the rental it was not available! I was forced to wait until the next day to receive another rental, which was highly unprofessional, extremely inconvenient and wasted hours of my time! The check-in alone took over 2 hours due to computer issues. I will never rent from this location again and maybe done with uhual as a whole!

Diep HI would like say thank you for this location's professionalism. I would like to make a positive comment for Tremaine, the gentleman in the location Main St. High Point NC location as well. He helped me finally get a truck that was supposed to be set up to drop off in GA! However, I am not at all impressed with the Gate City, and the UNCG Greensboro NC locations. Those girls at the UNCG location were not that professional at all and Gate City was not papered for the truck we were supposed to received. They sent me to another location (UNCG) and they sent me all the way to another city. After coming from GA driving to another city to pick up the appropriate truck was not cool and time consuming. Please be prepared when doing your job correctly. Hats off to the High Point location who went out of their to make this situation right!!! thank you

We weren't expecting for the screws/plate that came with the kit not to match with my car but the gentleman explained the situation and helped us complete the installation. It took a little longer than expected but everything was taken care of. Much appreciated! Courteous staff, attentive and patient to answer our questions. Thank you so much!

STEVEN CWhen we picked it up the engine light was on. Was told not to worry. The gas gauge did not work. After trying to fill up on our trip, we found the gas was leaking from the fuel line. So we had to keep stopping to refuel.As we put gas in you could actually see the gas dripping from the line. ..

MARK GI rented a motorcycle trailer at 10:00 AM for 12 hours. I assumed that it would be fine to drop off the rental around 5:30 PM on the same day but got a charge for a late rental fee since I dropped it off after business hours even though it is still within the time I had reserved it. I recommend the employee to remind the customer to either extend the rental to the next day if it falls into a time where the U-Haul Business or location will not be open during the time you are designated to return whatever rental you may have. Or have it set up in the system to automatically change that discrepancy or just not have the customer rent the trailer if the return time/date falls on a time where the location is either closed or unavailable. For example, if a customer picks up a rental at 7AM for 12 Hours that should initiate an error message on the system that notifies them that if you plan on returning the rental at 7PM you will be charged an extra late fee even though it's still within the rental time frame since it's after business hours. Recommend to either change the time or date.

Upon departure, Nick ensure my bill was expedited and easy to understand. I am in the customer service business and this guy is just amazing. Thank you again for such a wonderful service.

donna lAdd more places on the trailer to connect a ratchet strap. Be open till 8pm. Speed up the process where someone without a reservation but who rents all the time can get there rental in 2 minutes tops. No one wants to use an app. They want to talk to a real person and get quick answers.
ANTHONY QThe ramp release on the truck was too tight. It could not be released by hand. It had to be undone using a hammer.
FRANK HRental was out of oil when I picked it up. Had to add 4 quarts. Had to stop on side of road and fix drivers side mirror so that it would stay in place and be useable. Brakes pulled hard to left as if only drivers side front was working (after trip, you could see large amounts of brake dust on driver front and none on other wheels). Once I loaded towed vehicle, it was dangerous and would lock up under normal braking. When I brought this up at return, attendant asked if I called roadside assistance. I had a tight schedule and did not have time to wait for truck to be swapped out or repaired. Also, labor of moving load to new truck. Attendant told me they could not do anything except reimburse me for oil since I completed trip. I had assumed when I rented truck I would be receiving a functional, safe truck. I guess that was too much to ask. I cannot believe you are renting trucks in this condition to the general public. This could leave someone stranded or killed, especially if someone is not used to driving large trucks with heavy loads.

ROBERT CAwful customer service all around. It wasn't just one representative either; I watched multiple encounters with customers and every employee didn't want to be there. I didn't have a hand truck in my U-Haul and it was 90 % of the reason why I needed the rental. U-Haul on 92 is the new DMV for customer service.
DOUGLAS YPickup was fine. Trailer came with a nail in the tire and poorly wired tail lights.
MILES POne of our seven rented Uboxes, which was locked and secured with my own personal padlock was broken with a bolt cutter. I never received an explanation as to why the lock was broken and currently still sifting through my belongings to determine if any of my property is missing.

If the mileage is off, usually it is only a mile, due to the turn-in mileage being very close to the next whole mile and movement within your facility. When I dispute the mileage in the check-out process your software can NEVER OCR the actual mileage and refuses to accept the entered value. If it is only a ONE mile difference, can't you just trust your customers and accept it? I also feel that I have to provide full images when there are not in shown, just in case there is damage that is not visible in light or close distance. This takes a LONG time to do and the roof photo is impossible to take.
Joseph SLazy and incompetent employees. Mistakes in both billing and contract for a simple trailer rental. Employees obviously receive no training pertaining to preforming their job. I was inconvenienced because of "on the job training" for a person that obviously did not have the capability for that job.

ROBERT CExtremely rude staff, I called multiple times before pickup to confirm an appliance dolly would be on the truck and it was not. Nobody called me to inform me they didn't have any appliance dollys. Still charged me for the equipment even though they didn't have any. Couldn't find truck to pick it up, when I asked the staff they didn't even know specifically where it was either they said it's in one of 4 different places around the parking lot. The lady was extremely rude and unwilling to help me with anything. I'll never rent from U-Haul again. Terrible service and terrible location.
Michael SThis is the second time my "guaranteed m" pick up location didn have the truck i reserved. And when going to the location it's supposed tonbe, the representative wasn't even very polite about not having my truck. They also changed us a cleaning fee for a truck that was already dirty. The floor was dirty and the middle small seat had residual debris in it, yet we're the ones who had to pay for it t. The representative on the phone was supposed to give us a $50 reddit because of the broken guarantee of the truck bring in site and another 30 credit for having to travel 9 miles 20 minutes) to the second site to get the reserved truck. The dud not fivevus the $30 credit. Wors service ever. If you can find a different moving service, I'd highly recommend you do so because their guarantee ifbhavingbthevtruck you rented is a lie.

The loading dock area and the carts they provide were great! I GM did wave the firsts months rent which helps, but does not solve the problem have having to rent a more expensive spot.

My unit was inside, well attended and very secure. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I was able to rent a u-haul truck when I removed my belongings a year later and everything ran smoothly. The interior hallways are well lit with no lighting in the actual units. The rates are very reasonable, if not perhaps a tad on the higher side. All in all, a good place.

I understand when Woodstock was busy but would have preferred to leave a message than to talk with someone in n another state who could not help me. After the first time this happened I would ask for the store location before launching into my question. Hope this has been changed as it was very inefficient.

Not acceptable. Then I wasn't completely informed on how the access card worked. Wasn't told I had to swipe in and again swipe out when finished. I set off alarm a couple of times. Also why doesn't the hanger door does not stay up when unloading and loading. Almost caused damage to my jeep.

JANET H | Expérience généraleI actually had a horrible experience BUT no fault of U-Haul employees and not really corporate - an odd mix of circumstances with misunderstanding. I have a classic car I was transporting to GA from FL and reserved a 10x20 indoor unit - I explained to the phone rep that the car was not operational and was really car parts (no engine connected, no gas tank, no fluids). The reservation was accepted. When I got to the location the associate said they could not allow the car and explained they had issues with people working on vehicles inside the units. I understood and explained I do not need the key, and do not need access to the car for a few weeks when I come back with my move (we took the car first, looked at houses) he did see the car was not operational but still could not accept. He went out of his way to locate an outside space for me - he probably spent 15 minutes of his time to help me. I had my wife and newborn with me and was somewhat hectic and mildly dangerous towing this car through the hills of Woodstock GA. I did suggest they consider a new policy with vehicles (I am sure there are thousands that would love to store inside vs outside) where the customer only has access to the unit with an employee present (no after hour access) which I think would work well for everyone is set up properly and fill empty storage spaces quickly. Anyway, he found me an outside spot at a location. 20 minutes away and it went ok. The space is not coveted overhead and I am sure it will suffer some damage but I am hoping it will be ok. The employees at Woodstock were helpful and friendly also.

It seems there are only 3 carts for the entire building, and even on this slow weekday with only a few people going in/out, there was competition and waiting for them. I'm hoping this gets resolved soon as I'll be moving out on a much busier weekend day. 2) I'm disappointed none of entry pads allows you to open the sliding doors after office hours. It's really challenging to move anything large through a normal doorway.

So I purchase 1 in office for $20. When I got my storage a lock already in storage. When I call Customer service I was told I would get my $20 back. But when turn truck key in she said no refund. But overall I will recommend uhaul.

The first 2 weeks they kept forgetting to set my password to gate hours, so I either had to only use office hours or call the manager who got back to me in 6-8 hours or call corporate to remotely let me in. Hold time for that was very long which I understand, but made a quick in and out take 30 minutes or more since it was required to be let out as well. The middle week it worked fine. The last week the gates were left open at all times. I was wanting a gated storage place and with both gates open at all times, there was no security and NO communication with us as to why it wasn't working or when it would be fixed.

I think it's ridiculous, because i spent only one overnight with the truck and was charged for four days. I am totally unsatisfied with this. I hope someone calls me asap, because I'm going to call. I have had multiple problems in three different states with three different U-Haul and each time was disappointing and honestly, I could put together a lawsuit for all the mismanagement of my account and belongings, as well as emotional distress. I will never recommend any U-Haul facility to anyone I know. In fact, I will go out of my way to make sure everyone knows about the experiences I have had over the past two years. They were always in back. Also, I cleaned out my storage unit on 8/21/21. I turned in my card and took my lock I purchased off the door. The manager was not there so I was told that they would handle the closing of my agreement. A week later I received an email stating I was behind on my payment (8/22/21). I responded to the email that I had cleared out my storage unit a week earlier. This survey says I cleared it out on 8/26/21 which is untrue. I am reporting this just in case I'm charged for days that I didn't use. Other than that, this facility was clean and convenient. The employees were nice and knowledgeable. I feel as if management needs to be more available for customers.

As I stated, the facility was nice, but the alarm system was annoying and to be honest rather embarrassing if others were around.

On going to pay for the first time we got charged $44 which was greater than the advertised price. Even the signs at the store show the price to be $34. When we brought up the matter with the agent the vehemently refused and said the unit we got was $44 and the would/could not charge me any lower price. Rather than disagree we paid and decided we would not stay at this facility and moved out from this facility to another. Other than renegading on their advertised price and being charge a higher rate without notice the facility was clean and everything else was above our expectation. We make decisions and get into contracts based on agreements. To renege is uncalled for and thus we felt cheated. As such I would not recommend this facility to others.

She would not honor what I was told originally so I want to see no need to call and resolve before submitting this survey. I ask her twice to honor what I had been told and she would not. I phoned yesterday several times to ask a question, customer service center passed along my message, said the local facility got my question and would call me back: still waiting.... 2- We did not know until we opened the storage space door that each space is not entirely enclosed. No ceilings! Wire fence material is the ceiling. Our space had a giant rat trap in the back corner so any vermin/pests brought in by other renters can easily spread from space to space. Plus, if a rat does get in and get trapped and dies, our belongings are going to stink to high heaven. Other facilities where I have rented space previously were completely enclosed. This was an unexpected unpleasant surprise and a big negative for me. Be sure to look at the space before you sign a contract.
