Whoever had the rental truck before me did not clean out the cupholders they did not clean off the windshield. They also did not check off the fuel level. They returned the truck with less than a full tank. Also, they were having issues with the oil in the truck and that was not reported by the person who rented it before me. When I rented the truck, the oil was just below 60 psi, which I thought was sufficient for me to make the trip from Mesa AZ to Salem OR. It was not. With 236 miles left of my 1200 mile trip, the oil began to leak so bad to the point I pulled the dipstick out and it was bone dry. I bought two quarts of oil out of my own pocket and a funnel, which only increased the psi to 30. At this point, the battery had also began to overheat, fluctuating between 14 and 18. This should not have landed on my plate to deal with. Whoever is renting these vehicles out needed to check the vehicles before renting them to another person and they failed. I had to load and unload the U-Haul truck not once, not twice but three times because the transload agreement I signed was for workers to come to my location and move my boxes from the broken truck to a brand new one. They were late by 20 mins. Out of frustration for tardiness, I unloaded the broken truck and loaded the boxes into the new truck. When they finally arrived 15 mins after the scheduled time, I only had a mattress left to load which I did myself. U-Haul refused to issue me $400 for loading the truck myself even though the movers were late. Literally the only thingy he movers did was hook up the car carrier to the new truck. I moved a total of 30 boxes alone. I requested a refund of the original truck I rented due to the fact the issue was not of my fault and the inconvenience of having to unload an entire truck by myself even though I was promised help, the fact that I had to pay for oil, and the fact that someone failed at doing their job to ensure the vehicles were properly functioning. I will never recommend U-Haul ever to any friends or family, and I will never be using U-Haul again.

LENORA FMake sure the person you area meant to meet actually arrives, or at least informs you beforehand that they will be contacting you over the phone at the pickup time. Also ensure that they tell you they do not have one of the requested items you reserved so you don't have to take up an hour or more of your time and money to go to another location after the fact to get it.
