Will it work for a 72 x 30 couch?

I checked with the manufacturer of this product. Their response is as follows: "Would work well carrying a dresser up a flight of stairs. The straps contain inserts for different size items that allow you to adjust the straps to carry a dresser up stairs."

Would work fine on a treadmill. The straps cross underneath the item you're lifting to "lock it in". The item you're moving does not have to be squared.
How does it work going down steps?
The weight of the load is on your forearms, allowing your legs to move freely up and down steps. For items like mattresses, it's really quite easy.

For example, if a 100-lb object was lifted utilizing these straps, it would effectively reduce the weight to 44-lbs. Is this further divided by 2 as this load is split between the individuals, or is each individual now lifting 44-lbs.
