This location is on a private logging road and difficult to find as GPS Data not accurate in this area. The yard is a Heavy Equipment Repair center and the U-Haul office is in the Parts Division at the back. The yard is a nightmare of huge parked trucks etc. and riddled with potholes many filled with mud and water. This requires renters to navigate through this to make your way to the back of the building. U-Haul equipment is parked around the edge in basically open fields and trees. The unit I rented I found later had a spill at the inside front of a thick sticky, slippery substance that I had to clean with Hot water and soap before I could load. On a brighter note there were plenty of blankets provided and and the lady who administers the rental and any other personnel I met were friendly and helpful.
LESLIE ABilling was very unprofessional. Employees could not charge correctly! I WAS OVERCHARGE for the rental with an explanation of a credit to be given because the representative did not know how to bill Uhaul. It's still not cleared up. UHAUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IGNORED NUMEROUS INQUIRIES. Unprofessional & scammed.

LISA GDrop off location was not what i requested as the one I verbally requested had closed. This information was not relayed to me resulting in having to make a 3 hour round trip for drop off. Complaint response was a quick dismissal.

Mike MYikes this place. It's really out of town, with NO cell reception. We had to go into and out of town several times for the drop off pictures to load. Offer wifi or have simpler drop off instructions that don't have to load every single step one by one. What should have been 10 minutes max took an hour and a half. Not cool.

MICHAEL WThe location itself was fine, very friendly staff, very helpful. The fact that I had to find a way to get to here from Nanaimo with very little notice is absurd and rediculous. Every interaction we had with the staff of shields was excellent. Every interaction with U-Haul was an incredibly frustrating and unpleasant experience. I would rather carry my things in a burlap sack across my back than move with Uhaul again.

Our only qualm was that we reserved a U-Haul to be picked up at a different location 4 months in advance and the location was changed twice by uhaul. This final location to pick up our truck cost us over $400 in additional travel costs and an extra day in travel (required expensive ferries to get to it)

TREVOR EI did not choose this location. It was much farther out of the way than the one I chose. It is also not set up for mobile pickup which is what I selected. Took me over an hour to get my truck. The u haul system was down when I went to pick up so that's not the location's fault but it soured my impression. The location is also a mechanics shop and the language being used around me while I waited was quite foul. Glad I didn't bring my kids in with me.
JOEL SBetter communication, cleaner vehicle, less hassle, give the vehicle that was asked for. This was the worst experience I have ever had renting a vehicle.

Rick EBetter signage to find this location would help, once on site could not see where to drop off vehicle and luckily drove to the back of the building to find other U-Hauls vehicles
Eric FThis is the 4th place I went for a u-haul. The first three: Lakeland, not fault of theirs the just didn't have it, so the U-Haul system sent me to Powell River which is 2 ferry rides from the original one and quite frankly just not feasible. One place in Campbell River, Midway Storage I booked called and nobody answered or ever got back to me even after I left a message… I called a place and Courtenay they just disint have it either. Primarily what pissed me off is the fact that you as a company don't understand where your customers are living. i.e. Vancouver Island we need boats to go to places we can't just drive everywhere so sending us to locations. They have to make sense. As for some companies that actually answered the phones and they don't have stock it's poor business from the top down to the companies that go through the effort of helping the customer. I basically wasted half a day of my time due to that organization.
BRAD DMost off the return places in Courtenay are disgusting. How can U-Haul run a business like this. The U-Haul rental nd drop offs in Courtenay are ridiculous.
James TI made a call to the head office and was not very happy with the person that I talked to She told me that if we were not connected to the internet or have a smart phone it would be very difficult to return the truck. When I hung up I actually said that I would never use U-Haul but the wonderful lady in Courtenay told was how easy it was to return the truck She was excellent. Merci

lori mit was closed and i could not get your app to work and return the truck. Luckily there was someone there and he took the keys and looked after it for me. Your app is not user friendly for returning the truck

Richard tWhen advertising the trailer dimensions correctly. Yes, the inside dimensions were 6' (72") X 12' (144"), but the opening at the back is only 55". I rented under the understanding the opening was 6' (72") . This opening was 3" to narrow to meet my needs, so it became a yard ornament. Santé!
John RSaw the reviews about challenges finding location, I called the local office and they gave me directions and where to park/find office which was great as it is a "working" facility. Great service and convenient location for my needs.

Neil BThe 24/7 truck share would not work because there's no cell service at the location. The personnel were not trained for a Saturday drop off. They helped as much as they could but we couldn't resolve the drop off until Monday morning.

Drayson MThis location to return to is a complete nightmare. Very hard to find and no clear directions. The guy that answers the phone is rude and unprofessional and he hung up on me. The drop box for the keys is behind locked gates so you can't return after hours and then they charge you for another day. This location also added file when we returned it higher than what it was when I picked up. It was only half full which is also very inconvenient. Never ever again will I deal with this company in Kent Agassiz. Never ever again.

Robert JExtra $30 fee in the rental was unexplained. It was the equivalent of 2 extra days of rental. I need an explanation and likely a refund for that fee. Check out did not allow me to provide a comment on the fee and pay for the rental. I put in a comment but did not allow to submit it. Went to pay, and did not allow for comment. The trailer was clean, however there was significant soapy residue left on the floor of the box that was not washed out and got on items during the move.

Max NLet customers know that when booking reservations for any ferry, that the 26 ft trucks are considered commercial. Check the washer fluid as well because by the time we hit Manning Park it was empty & barely made it to the gas station for more. I do appreciate the information about having to purchase your own chains since corporate doesn't mandate winter tires on its entire fleet as they're based out of a desert.
