Duncan BC Uhaul needs a serious customer service overhaul. Non-existent customer service. Extra, arbitrary charges for locking keys in vehicle because no one was there to receive it during business hours. No instructions or signage to the location of drop box. This kid needs to figure it out……

I don't think you need to change anything except it was a bit hard learning how to use the App but I am 72 so still getting used to these apps on my phone. Also, I couldn't figure out how to extend the rental period without calling the dealer

Location was closed when website stated to be open and location phone recording listed days and hours were open. This caused inconvenience and additional issues as U Haul Self Return option on App and Website did not work due to a " System Error " when attempted to drop rental. Very disappointing and as a result I was charged an extra day as a result.

Equipment provided was not properly checked, no walk through done, no explanation for how to use. All this is caused the ball bearing seazing and caused the fire. Thank you Alex P.S. I would like to big thanks for Hope towing, to provide help and provide working equipment

The Key Drop Box is at a Sea Can across the parking lot from the main building and office. There is no sign indicated as to where the Key Drop Box is. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with U-Haul, being advised to leave the key under the drivers seat and unlock the passenger door, which is terrible advice because if someone tried the door and got into the truck I would be held responsible. A U-Haul Rep finally determined the Key Drop Box is across the parking lot at a Sea Can. This location has multiple businesses in the parking lot so how on earth would I know the Sean Can was for U-Haul????? I was tired after a long day of moving and stood in a hot parking lot for 40 minutes on the phone! Very frustrating, PLEASE put the drop box on the U-Haul building and office so the next client does not have the same frustration.

Folks, at this point, I doubt you care. Next time I have to move my intention is to buy a trailer rather than deal with your company. Here's why: This move: 1. Equipment and reservation confirmed 2. Notified reservation changed; 26' truck to 20' 3. Time changed from 9am to 10am 4. Staff 15min late to open store. Line-up of people waiting immediately asked if we worked there cause they had been there since 9am, as per store hours and their reservations. We arrived at 10am, as per our reservation. 5. Utility dolly not available despite reservation. Last time: 1. Reservation and Equipment confirmed 1.a. Movers confirmed accordingly. 2. Reservation canceled - Equipment not available 2.a movers rescheduled accordingly 3. Rescheduled 4. Canceled - Equipment not available 5. Rescheduled 5.a movers rescheduled accordingly 6. Canceled - tried to have me pick up 26' truck 1hr out of town.. 2hr round trip on moving day. 6.a. movers no longer available. 7. Got the Equipment! Woo! 8. Drop off point changed part way through move. Now 45min out of the way. Was charged mileage and fuel for it. 9. Rescheduled. Lost my mind. Ran out of characters.

The staff at the site were very helpful. My only complaint is that I had to attend in person. Phone calls (during business hours) were not answered. Left voice mails not returned. Oldies like me prefer the phone over on line contacts.

I was given a truck with less than 1/4 tank of gas. The warning came on when I'd only driven about 5 km so I had to gas up immediately. I was told it had 1/4 tank and that was what I'd have to return it with. The cab of the truck was not clean, there was coffee or pop spilled in it. We mopped out the back, included wiping down all the walls and were charged an additional $25 cleaning fee. We were told when we took the truck that it would be $20 cheaper to return it online, so we did that, before 5:00pm and then were charged $20 for a late return. I have called and left messages yesterday and today about these charges and have not had a call back yet.

Went to rent a trailer on site and was turned away three separate days, the attendant said everything was rented even though the lot was full of trailers. Booked online and was no issue to rent a trailer and pickup the next day.

I booked the truck online mobile pick up for 7:30 am as we had to load the truck and get on a ferry to Saltspring island I went to the STE office Saturday as once before I got screwed over because they didn't put the key in the box with the word lock so I showed up on a Sunday and no keys and the office is closed so I had to rent a Budget truck for $350 for a 20 km 6 hr rental. We I arrived this past Saturday to confirm the key will be in the truck box for Monday morning with the word lock the young guy working was extremely rude saying they don't do mobile pick up anymore So I had to come at 9 am not 7:30 and made it so we had to catch a different ferry over and had to wait much longer as the afternoon ferry back does a crew change making so we had to eat 2 hrs of labour for 3 guys at $60 hr each we bill When I asked about the $50 credit because the truck wasn't available for the time we reserved it I was told doesn't apply by the person working that day so I felt it was best. I just leave rather to lose my shit on him.

Fix your network, we went to get our uhal for 9 pick up, but the system was down till 10am. What a waste of our time to have to wait to pick up a truck because the networks were down . The gentlemen trying to get it up and running said this is an on going issue and nothing gets done? Poor customer service,

I appricate how the inspection of rented vehicles has changed. I find it very convent inspecting the vehicle you are renting. Taking pictures and being saved, is reassurance for myself. Fully satisfied with the rental of the truck.

I booked a specific sized truck (15 foot). After booking I received a call indicating to arrive early to make sure all was done before they closed. I arrived early as directed and was told the truck booked was not back yet. I waited around and had to take a smaller truck (10 foot) as they were going to close in 15 minutes. The truck I took was not quite big enough, so now I have to rent another one and take another ferry to Vancouver from the island to complete this move. Thats several hundred dollars extra I would not have had to spend if the truck I had reserved was available. This is why we reserve correct? To get truck we need? A bit frustrated by it all

The drop off occurred when this location was closed. It was hard to find the key drop off box which was located at the former temporary office, not at the new office. The UHaul app is a good idea but takes more time than handing the truck off to an agent.

Cargo strap mechanisms were rusty and difficult to ratchet as they were seized. Eventually got them to work. The U haul worker was helpful and hooked the trailer up for me.

Ordered equipment was not in vehicle, the moving pads were just thrown into the vehicle and strewn around, the hours of operation were incorrect on all Info online, the online check out directions are inaccurate for this location. Staff were surly and unhelpful when stopped into office (The day before rental) and had provided inaccurate information over the phone prior to The visit. The remote check in process took almost 30 minutes and was extremely Difficult.

When someone orders an add on it should be in the vehicle. The lack of equipment requested made our move extremely hard. When we put in our kilometres at the time of picked up and pay at that time then we get charged additionally on top for what we already paid is unacceptable. Being quoted "amount due at pick up" ending up being double is disgraceful.

My whole experience was excellent until the very end. Your booking system is miles above the competitor. The CSR who booked me in and handled my pickup was so kind and helpful, the booking process was terrific, the pre-trip check is well designed, and the truck was perfect for my needs at a very affordable rate. I would definitely use this service again. I was glowing with rave reviews this morning to the young man who handled my return. There was a miscalculation with the added mileage charges and rather than try to understand what I was explaining to him (math) he went directly into the mode of "I can send you to UHaul collections" What?. I ended up just paying it knowing the charge was incorrect because between the staff member and a customer, they were both bullying me and making me feel like I was in the wrong. When everything else had been above average, this ending was a kick in the teeth. This young man was in the wrong and needs to be disciplined for this unfortunate mistreatment, never mind taught how to do some very basic calculations. Instead, it was plug the ears and "what the computer says is everything." Disappointing end to an otherwise stellar experience.
