The first truck I rented had the right front light out. I had to take the truck back and exchange it for another one. The second truck worked very well without any issues. The sales clerk was helpful and efficient.

Have the right size vehicle available as promised. I ended up with a van so I had to make more trips resulting in more kilometres charged.

The person in Stratford at the drop off location was excellent. Friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent service !!

The back of the truck was not swept out. The truck was in good working order. The staff was excellent.

You can make sure your truck is in good running order and that the ramps work and that they do not have plates falling out of the bottom of the truck. But also be helpful to have seats that were adjustable that worked.

You didn't have the truck I wanted at the original location is requested. Adding extra KM / Miles to my tip costing me more money then budgeted for. A truck the size I had was available at the location I requested. I know cause I passed it parked there…all day. When I was asked if there was I was told it there wasn't going to be one.

The woman who served us was very nice and professional, but your systems were down when we picked up the truck and when we returned the truck so we had longer wait time. And had to wait for emails later that day with the contract.

Renting a vehicle that doesn't come with a full tank of gas is a really bad first impression, particularly compared to normal rental car businesses. I'd much rather have to fill up the tank before returning than start off with a vehicle that has 3/8 of a tank, particularly for a long distance rental.

Requested a dolly for moving, it was not put in truck therefore had to pay extra mileage and make another trip back to the Erie Street location and get it

The truck we were supposed to get couldn't be moved because it had been driven too far into a snowbank; the one we ended up using worked well but one headlight wasn't working. The staff member we dealt with was personable and helpful, as was the manager I was refered to because I was initially over-charged was pleasant as well. He corrected the billing issue promptly. Overall it was good.

Second van not ready. Van not cleaned off. Very unprofessional.

The van was not ready when I arrived. It had approx. 12" of snow on the windshield/hood and there was no snow brush available in the van. When I mentioned that there was no snowbrush the attendent said he would let management know. That's great but it doesn't help me with the snow and ice on the van. It was stuck as the parking lot had been plowed what looked like 2-3 times and the van had not been moved. About 30-45 minutes was spent trying to get it unstuck. I've used this location before with excellent service but this time was no where close to being satisfactory. Check in/out was excellent but the overall experience was a big miss.

It took me twenty minutes to clear the snow and ice off the cargo van. Then I needed to rock it out of the snowbank to get it to the road. The vehicle was clean inside and the service counter attendant was very pleasant, but a long-armed snowbrush with a scraper or even a van that was already cleared of ice and snow would have been welcomed.

See the above. The ABS didn't work. The drivers side windshield wiper was lose on the motor and there was no windshield shield wiper fluid at all. I had to Drive from Newmarket Ontario in a snow storm with the vehicle in this condition.

The vehicle was poor, leading to dangerous driving conditions. I could have been pulled over by the police because there was only one front headlight working (and it was dim). Then there was a flashing warning "service tire monitor system". Extremely overpriced for the terrible condition of vehicle. Will not ever use U-Haul again, and will warn others against this service.

ABS brake's unserviceable,back tires worn so not effective in winter conditions. Truck was clean and ran beautifully otherwise just needs some system love.People at the rental office were excellent kind and polite.

The employee at the Esso was professional. However the bed of the truck was covered in wet mud and smelt like cow poop. Honestly it looked like someone transported livestock in it. All my belongings smell bad after using the truck to move and I will likely look into another company if I ever need another truck.

Truck was left with pasta and mud in the cargo area. Smell so bad that we almost threw up. We had to get cleaner and clean it before we could load household items in the back.

Dealt with many U-Haul outlets over the years, and this one quite often, and Stratford ESSO is the best.

First of all rented a truck from st. Marys location just to find out I had to go pick it up and pay the extra kms to pick up in Stratford and then when I get there the person behind the counter was a grouch and not much help at all, when I finally figured it out on my own got the truck and was on my way, got to my location to load just to find out the dolly I rented and paid for was not in the truck like they said. Not renting there again

Location and staff were good .However, we needed a truck with ramp to move large heavy item . Ramp would not fully come out so was not able to be used as required , had to find some guys to help lift item into truck Reported to local location they advised contacted head office have not heard anything

This is our 2nd time renting from this location. This time the cargo area was not properly cleaned and the fuel had not been fully replenished. Great check-in process.

all the stickers with info great help. However it would be a great idea to have one clarifying that speedometer in MILES per hour. Took me several minutes to figure that out while driving . one sticker that states "speedometer in MPH. 50 = about 80kpm, 30 = about 50 kpm", etc would have been extremely helpful. Not everyone, including myself knew all uhauls are American, that was reply I got when I mentioned this at return. Driving something very different than you are used to feels very different and this is vital information. I was panicked at first thinkng I would not be able to handle "80"!

The airbag light was on in the truck I drove. The truck drove fine however I would recommend getting the malfunction indicator light repaired.

I would rate this experience less than a star if possible. It has been a nightmare of an experience. There was not one thing that went right with the rental. I have a complaint open reference number- 4890269. I am hoping to resolve the issues caused by all the parties involved as soon as possible. Merci.

Rented the Cargo Van. Back of van floor was not swept out...resulting in an unacceptable amount of debris. The gas gauge was marked at full (F) on rental agreement and registered the same on the gas gauge of the van....However....after travelling 13 km the gas fill up which I did personally totalled an astounding amount of $23,33 reading 13,98 litres of fuel priced at $1,67 / litre. The fuel gauge in the van now was positioned past the full (F) mark. When I mentioned this to the rental attendant she advised me '' There was nothing she could do about it'' I feel this was an intentional ''SCAM'' which was beneficial to the rental site located at the gas station .

The unfortunate downside to this location was sadly the lack of staff and how busy it was in the morning. They did their very best to be fast, but between gas customers and other U-haul pickups it took almost an hour to get our rental, and that ate away at the time we had it booked for, only to be told we would be charged $100 per hour it was late. We managed to return the truck on time, barely and then we're hit with a refueling fee we weren't told about when we picked up the truck. The staff seemed very stressed out and overwhelmed to be honest, and I'm not sure that's U-Hauls issue or Esso's .... but either way, it definitely didn't leave a great impression.

Our truck was full of drywall dust…add a rainy day to move…that was messy and unnecessary…luckily I had 2 old queen blankets to lay down before loading my belongings.

Inside the truck was dirty. Bumper on front was loose. We had to sweep out the truck prior to use.

The problem I had is locating a truck to rent closer to my city. I was reserving early but no effort was made to accommodate my needs despite there being a uhaul in Goderich. Not happy with that

Friendly and efficient service. Uhaul is a valuable resource for individuals or businesses for all your moving needs. Access to a professional moving truck without the cost of ownership is a bonus to keep overhead low.
