RE: Experience with Cliff at Silverton Rd. UHaul lot: I was given the wrong trailer for the job I was doing. I specifically asked for a trailer with a drop down ramp and stated that I was delivering a riding tractor. I was shocked when I got to my home and the tailgate was a foot and a half off the ground. I had to go into my shed in the back yard and carry a 3/4" inch thick plywood sheet out to the street--a distance of about 100 feet and get two concrete blocks to shore it up in order to drive the tractor onto the trailer. When I got back to the depot to return the trailer I explained that "a Mistake was made" and his response was that there was "not a mistake made"-and when I said that the trailer was not right for the job I was doing, he argued with me and said "people have ramps" and then said the "ramp" trailer wasn't the right kind for what I was using it for--to that I said "It's ALWAYS worked for me with NO problem." At that point I asked if he was going to take care of me, and he did not offer to wave the cost of the rental, or to make any effort to try and make me happy.. By that time I had been disconnected from the trailer and as I was driving out I rolled down my window and said "I might be back-but I wasn't sure." He just shouted out "OK" and that was it. I yelled back to "Cancel my account there." I don't know if Uhaul approves of this or not-but that sure isn't how to run a business in my opinion. Signed, Kent Walker KW Cleaning Service Salem, OR

The staff at this location apologized for my experience at the other location. Good group of employees here. They couldn't refund the ball purchase, but they were kind enough that I didn't care anymore.

Your early check in is a joke and didn't work. After calling tech support and have them not be able to help me I had to wait an hour and a half for the locAtion to open. It's not this locations fault, but they did tell me this happens a lot. I will never use U-Haul again!!!

The only complaint I have is that when I drove back into their lot to return the box truck, and park where their designated return area is, I had to wait about 10 minutes to get received. Not their fault, though. It was pretty busy when I drove in, so they didn't notice that I had come in to return the truck. Everyone is very nice there. It's a great place to rent from.

I have used uhaul for years. And Elias was a wonderful help. Only issue I have is I was travelling home 2000 some miles to Chicago and the check engine light cam on half way from Portland in Laramie Wyoming. I would have hoped the uhaul location knew not to give a truck due for a mint3n3nc3 check to such a long travel. Was pretty worrisome for the last 1200 miles.

My 15 footer van was checked out with 1/4 tank. I drove it 39 miles. They said I owed 109 for fuel. Then they revealed a "virtual" fuel level on my pre-checkout that indicated 3/4 tank. I checked the vehicle out with 1/4 tank. When confronted on the 39 miles I put on the vehicle, they quickly went into reverse. The rep sez, " if you get her back to 1/4 of a tank...we are square". What happened to the 3/4 virtual level? They tried to scam me. Straight up!

You can stuck with charges agreed upon at time of rental pick up which was 41,9 for 2 days and I extended it for 2 more days which would be another 41,8 a total of 83,8 for 4 days at 19,96 per day. What is safe move and why has it been added as a charge on my rental? Please adjust your fees to what was told to Mr at time of picking up rental and paid for foe 2 days at 41.90. You have added charges that I did not agree on and have no idea why they r on my contract. Thank you The Stewarts

My RESERVED storage unit not only had someone else's lock on it, it was COMPLETELY full of someone else's stuff . Including, broken glass all over, bins , 3 couches and trash. The u haul worker did not give me a lock, properly show how to use the sign in and out , and seemed very annoyed that he rented , had me sign a contract for a completely trashed storage unit . After letting them know it was COMPLETELY full they emptied the storage unit into a U-Haul and parked it . Very very uncomfortable and unprofessional to be spending over $250 a month on a storage unit for this to happen . Most likely will not be keeping next months lease. The process that could have taken no less the 10 mins-AS I RESERVED THE UNIT BEFORE HAND AND COMPLETED ALL DOCUMENTS ONLINE - took over an hour and a half .

I was very impressed with the friendliness of the clerk who checked me in and filled out my appl. Also I left my wallet on the desk and my son had already taken me home and then he returned to unload the truck ,the Young man made sure to return it to him before leaving for the evening.

employees parked in front of the drive up unit even after promising not to. I moved out and was told that if the employee didn't "process " my move out by the next month that I would be charged for another month. of course this would be theft of $263. I told corporate to tell the location to say it is not a drive up unit because employees park there in front of it and you have to beg them to move, not knowing who owns the car. Time-consuming and frustrating.

The unit I had reserved was not available and the staff could not locate my reserved unit for some unknown reason. I was not prepared to pay for a bigger unit, but for more unknown reasons could not comp the upgrade that was their fault. They were friendly and pleasant, it was just frustrating having this experience after traveling 12 hours to get there. I was anticipating everything being in order when I got there, but I guess it wasn't necessarily their fault either…still frustrating to go through that. Probably won't use U-Haul storage again.

Making a reservation through the app was an absolute breeze! I've been a regular U-Haul customer for years but finally decided to give the app a try. I made the reservation in the middle of the night and Clint, the General Manager was ready for me. The fact that I was able to snag a drive-up unit made this one of the easiest moves I've ever done! The staff at the Silverton Road location has never failed to make me feel welcomed and this time was no exception.

Excellent storage facility no complaints. Checking in and moving in was great. The only thing was that prior to moving in I had a talk with central call line people and they misinformed me about some information which made the move in process a bit difficult. But the storage facility was very helpful and kind and made the process less stressful! Highly recommend this facility to others!

I have enjoyed using Uhaul and storage for the safe keeping of my things until I was able to buy a home. I would definitely tell family and friends to use this facility to save guard their things. I loved the fact that I could choose to have my things in a temperature controlled environment. The staff is always helpful and friendly, I will miss seeing them!

The Silverton storage folks were very helpful and courteous. I would gibe them an above average. But the corporate person I talked to wasn't that great with limited support to fix the issue I had with trying to locate my storage. So for this reason I give an average.

Facilities are clean, and easy to access. The furniture dolleys provided are a lifesaver after a long and tough move. 1st month storage free with one way truck reservation is an awesome deal.

I reserved an outdoor storage area. That unit wasn't available because the owner did not move out so I was upgraded to an indoor unit for the same price. They even provided a lock free of charge.

I only kept my stuff in the storage for one week out of the new month. The manager of the facility then moved his stuff in the same day and I hadn't even check out of the unit yet. I then asked for a refund of the 3 weeks and he got all mad and refused and hung up on me. The worker apologized and said that wasn't right because technically it was still my unit. I would like this fixed asap.

What I thought I was getting for a storage unit was not what I ended up with. I was prepared for a 10X20 unit and ended up getting a 10X10 unit that was dirty and had a sunken floor. The managers were nice but it took for ever to get my reservation finalized. I am pretty disappointed and won't be keeping the unit beyond my free first month.

Everything was good, except I thought the original unit was the same size as I had in Anchorage Alaska, only to find out it was smaller and I had to pay $215 Instead of my free month because the first person gave me the wrong size. I had to overdraw my bank to make sure we were able to get the uhaul truck unloaded and turned in.

Getting through on the telephone to the office was a nightmare. Finding available help was difficult. The procedures for checking in first before using door code was never given to me until I could not open door one day. Zero communication between office and customers. Raised prices every month. I paid extra for climate control and it was stifling hot in Summer and freezing cold in Winter. I will never rent from U-haul again.

My payment date was on the 18th - and I was charged for the whole month, even though it was only 3 days. Not very impressive, uHaul-not at all. I had my storage broken in to some how lost my sports card collection and my girlfriends jewelry of her daughters child rings and her grandma's stuff that can't be replaced. I never had any idea all of this was missing. I have collected those cards since I was 5years old and lost thousands of dollars in sports card just so stund by this loss.

Every thing was great except for the lock that we had to buy from your firm! We had a very good master lock which you made us remove and buy your "crappy" lock for $10 which you would not re-purchase{we paid cash for the lock}. Incidently, your own employee refered to the lock as "crappy" when he attempted to help me unlock the lock.It is for this reason that Igive you an average rating. Mke Duch

Everytime I use uhaul it's a headache. Between not being able to use the online check in bc their website is trash to employees that don't know much of what's going on.

Absolutely loved this uhaul place. The staff was Absolutely friendly and super helpful with our moving. One of the best uhaul places ever! Our last experience with a different uhaul place the people were rude and hardly spoke to us. But this one in particular was just wonderful and will go there again for our next move.

My uhaul experience prior to arriving to Curtis's establishment was dizzying and incredibly frustrating, so being able to see the other side of the customer experience was quite the relief.

The only problem is the amount of office staff on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I needed to set up my move out and waited in a line 6+ deep for 35 minutes with one lady working desk. Sunday I needed to purchase supplies during my move out of the facility and I waited in a line 10+ long for 1hr 5 mins for one guy working desk.

I have forgotten the name of your employee who helped me but she was amazing! She worked with me to help get me in a unit that would be easy to unload since I was unloading by myself. It made the whole process much easier and I was able to unload much faster because of her wonderful customer service. She was awesome!

The staff was very friendly, so this review does not reflect them, but getting into our rooms was a nightmare. We were supposed to have one large room and it was unavailable due to someone not moving out on time. So then we get transferred to two smaller rooms across the storage facility from each other. The second room that was "vacant" was still full of someone else's garbage so then we were transferred again to a third unit. All the while, our whole unload crew is following the worker around the facility trying to figure out which room we are actually unloading into. We were supposed to get our first month free for our one room... now we are left paying much more next month for two rooms when we were only supposed to have one in the first place. Terrible organization and keeping track of which rooms were vacant/in use. We made our reservation a month ago so it wasn't even last-minute. We would have chosen another storage facility if we knew about what a hassle this one would be. I will not be recommending :(

I have asked many times for you to change the name of who was on the rental agreement. Even after I had filled out the paperwork you still did not change the information. I had no way to speak with you guys since my husband who should have been taken off was still as the first person to contact. I paid with MY credit card and even when I told you NOT to use my credit card you Still DID.I had become homeless with this pandemic and had no way to contact you and then after many attempts you sold my stuff. I appreciate having to go above your head to get things done but I dont see why I had to in the first place. My mother in law was put in the hospital and you had no sympathy for the fact I was 300 miles from you and HAD NO WAY to come to you. I had you contact my sister after I told you not to.... I had no way to do anything and I am very happy I have nothing to do with your company. In the future I will NOT use and will not recommend UHAUL for anything.

We had reserved 2 10x20 units but when we needed the second unit they only had a 10x10, this created stress with our move and the smaller unit was no where near as convenient and easy to use it had at least a 1 foot step up. When originally reserving the units I was able to speak directly to the location all other calls went directly to the call centers which had EXTREMELY long wait times. Luckily on our first trip I grabbed the managers business card and was able to get assistance via email to her. Your APP for reservations and payment is really good

I've been there several times. They are terribly understaffed. Each time there was about an hour wait just to get to the counter. I was there before they opened and there were 5 people in front of me. I would like to commend the staff. They are professional, and courteous even in such trying circumstances. I have to rate low because of my experience. 1st, the online app did not accept image of the back of my drivers license, so I could not order online. The next day, I physically went to rent (Sun) at 430 pm... lose at 5. I was told bluntly, without even trying to listen, we cannot rent in the last hour. Told to do online. Explained I already had. I tried again. This time it asked for a alternate number and no matter what I entered, with hyphen or withou...several different numbers, it would not advance and finalize. It did accept the money. THEN after 3 attempts to call and get help (again, point blank, i cannot help...referred to same numer and menu)...waiting again. 3 person really heard me and tried to help...then suddenly disconnected. Had to wait till next day to sign up and unload. Had to miss work.

I rented storage and rented a van from this store. I could not have had a better experience. Your staff was so kind and professional, and everything went smoothly. Because of the coronavirus situation, I had to move out of a dorm and into a new apartment and get ready to start a new job in a new city over the course of a weekend. The staff is snotty and behave in a 'im better then you manner'. Staff tells customers one thing and the ownet/manager contradicts her staff. That doesn't look good on any business. The result of this kind of miscommunication was that I had to move out of my storeage unit in less then 24 hours. I wouldn't store here.

It was a terrible experience. I will never use Uhaul again. I'll tell everyone not to ever use your company! Lost my things and double billed me. Uhaul SUCKS!!
