Joseph Paige is an exemplary professional. He is outstanding and deserves to be recognized. All the staff I interacted with were very pleasant and professional. I hope Uhaul will take care of their employees at this location. The employees need adequate internet to do their job, and customers should not be hindered bc of lack of internet services. You have a pregnant employee and the office chairs are unacceptable for all your staff; no back rests, all different old chairs. They work hard. Show up for your employees!

MARK Rwould like to receive a phone call from management. Not from vickers road staff please! Had appointment set for pick up of our ubox. When I arrived they were NOT expecting me. ubox was not on trailer. Had to wait 2 hours for new staff to arrive to move ubox onto trailer. I lost time & money as movers were being paid to wait to unload ubox @ dif-ferent location-. Pub-lic storage gave me a 93 price vs. uhaul 160. So your prices are almost double the competition.

MATTHEW DHad a reservation at 6:00am for a 15' truck that I had reserved the week before. Got a confirmation email saying it was all good and ready to go. Showed up on sight to do the 24/7 pick-up and kept being redirected to an error page, saying I had no items on hold. I called the customer service line and found out my truck had never been reserved in the first place. Luckily, the representative upgraded me to a 20' that was available, but even then, it wasn't in the correct place in the lot according to the map, and it was the display vehicle. Just annoyed at the whole process, which made it so I didn't leave the lot until 6:30am, so I had a delayed start to my move.

Even though that was true, they called and offered me a free month of storage because I was struggling financially and they knew I could really use it. During my move from Wilson to Gastonia, U-Haul has really come through for me and the location in Chapel Hill made it a lot easier.

DEAN PThis is by far the best U-Haul center that I have ever used. There were multiple representatives on duty to check customers in, so the process was very pleasant and efficient. They are welll stocked with equipment, and rental return was quick and easy. The staff just seems to have a really friendly attitude and made the overall experience enjoyable.

WHEN I ASKED WHY, THE (OLDER) GENTLEMAN THERE RAISED HIS VOICE AND JUST SAID THAT IS HOW IT IS AND THEY COULD GIVE ME MORE FREE MILES IF NEEDED (WHICH I DID NOT NEED)! ALSO HAD TO ENTER MOST INFORMATION I DID ONLINE ALREADY AGAIN (WHY?). THE GUY HELPING ME WAS NEW AND IN TRAINING, WHICH IS FINE (AND HE WAS VERY POLITE AND DID HIS BEST). ALL THIS CAME ON TOP OF THAT I THE DAY BEFORE GOT A MESSAGE THAT THE 10 FT TRUCK ORDERED/CONFIRMED WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT UHAUL WOULD GIVE ME A 15 FT INSTEAD. NOT CRISES BUT NOT WHAT HAD BEEN CONFIRMED! ALSO, WHY DO I HAVE TO RENT A TRUCK FOR 2 DAYS WHEN ALL I NEEDED WAS 4 HOURS TOTAL TO DRIVE 140 MILES? WILL NOT USE THIS PLACE AGAIN!
PEDER HThe trailer was very very old and not very clean inside. The door jammed in the raised position and we had to call for assistance, which came promptly. However the locking mechanism needs some work. We were thankful we were only using it in town because we would have been afraid to pull it on a long trip.
Janet JCheck-in took much too long. Despite 4 employees being present, I had to wait in line for the 1 that was actually working. Then I had to wait another 10 minutes or so because "the system was down" -- no one (including the manager) had any idea what to do. Nonetheless, I did get the equipment I needed (although it included a nice helping of gravel in the bed). The return process was quick, easy and friendly.

Melissa AI rented a one way trailer. It was supposed to have barn doors but had a roll up. The agent called several different locations but couldn't find one with barn doors. The trailer had several places where minor damage had occurred. I asked them to mark each one and I took the trailer. When I returned it in Lexington TN, I pointed out the spots that were marked. Other than that everything was fine.
WILBUR SI really like being able to rent these trailers for moving motorcycles. The fees are low and the equipment is much better than anything I would own.

GOPINATH CLet's see here. Started with picking up a truck, one way for 244. First truck didn't start. Got a second one, no gas and was told lot worry about the contract details. Was originally til the end of the month (February) 4 days go by and I'm being asked for renewal payment , then another couple days go by, was threatened to pay more and more or have cops coming saying the truck was stolen. When finally getting to destination to unload the truck seemingly was loosing its breaking power. Roadside for uhail said to not drive it but the location didn't care the threats got greater. Even my mom called to verify but they wanted me to drive it back against the advisement of U-Haul with no brakes and leaking fluids. I would never recommend renting here. Never have I had a location have a sheriff on standby whom was demanding payment in their behalf. Now I wake up and another contract has been updated and my card again charged ….fraudulent behavior

Cons: No security system on units, no entry restrictions Systems staff have to use do not function well (or staff need to be trained) Policies are stupid (i.e. you have to use THIS kind of lock, even if you already have a better one) Pricing is high compared to competitors AC units on site need maintenance (they are LOUD)

It made exiting and entering the storage facility a hazard and prevented moving large pieces in and out. The staff did nothing to address the issue during the time. On another occasion, there was a dog grooming vehicle parked outside the facility that had a hose connected to the faucet inside. The hose was not connected properly and water was spilling everywhere for the entire hour I was present at the facility. The faucet was directly behind my unit and eventually was started seeping into my unit into a large pool. The water could have easily damaged items I had in my unit had I not been moving out that weekend. I informed staff and they communicated the issue to the person who was operating the dog grooming vehicle. No one offered to clean up the water in my unit.

We wet the alarm off every time we were there (because we didn't have good information/instructions). UHaul is among the best but my last unit had a very bad rodent problem. I placed mice traps and poison ☠️ n the unit several times and the little critters still damages furniture. Just FYI. Thank you

The locked entry door to our facility (Building B near unit 012) has been broken for almost a year which mans our unit was NOT secure. We brought this to the attention of the staff many times and were told this was reported but it was NEVER fixed. We have been customers since May 2021 and had several units with U-Haul, our last unit was a 15x20. We planned to stay with U-Haul indefinitely but rates kept increasing and the 20 % rate we were offered when we secured our unit and prepaid one year in advance was taken away by the area manager without any discussion. We appealed this decision and were told there was nothing that could be done to keep our business at the discounted rates we were promised. You lost a good customer who was paying $4000 annually for storage. We are now using Public Storage.

I complained to the office staff and got no response of any kind. And rain got in at some point, causing us to lose two twin mattresses and a sisal rug. You charged me $164,95 on 8/20/2023. I moved out the same day. Will I get refunded that charge?

When I got the the storage facility I asked if I could use a dolly and was told by the manager that I had to rent one. Your customer service sucks. It's all about the money with Uhaul.

The online reservation system is very easy to use and make changes. When I called the facility with a question that's when I learned the system allowed me to reserve a space that wasn't available. That's the reason I didn't choose 5 stars. The staff have been more that helpful.

Michael E | Expérience généraleEntry doors to storage unit keypads weren't functional, air conditioning in building didn't work. Climate controlled units were often 90 degrees. Covered boat storage is filthy full of leaves and debris from other units. When renting trailers was told to go find it and connect it yourself. Owner is a crook, will charge you for damage you didn't do. When I emailed to protest it he didn't even respond.

The HVAC unit broke and it took 2 months to get the climate control back within acceptable limits. On another occasion, the manager said lightening struck the building, so it took more than 3 months to get the cards to open the door to our unit. We had to go to the front desk every time to have someone open up. Rude staff. Unhelpful. Disgruntled.

This not only makes it difficult to get a cart smoothly in and out but is also a fall hazard (the strip of yellow paint does nothing when you have arms full of storage) I ended up taking a pretty bad fall that lead me to seek medical attention for my hip. I had two climate controlled storage units and one covered RV parking. All we're supposed to linked to auto draft, but they weren't. When I've rented trucks or trailers they just give you the number and you have to go find it yourself. When renting trailers you have to connect and disconnect yourself. Poorly run in my opinion.

UHaul still charged me the premium rate. The staff was great and I knew it was not their fault. Luckily, I do not think any of my items were ruined.

However this last experience was totally different. I had prereserved the truck and storage area. When I arrived for the truck they did not have the dolly that I had ordered. Since I was moving from a second story apartment with MANY boxes this was unacceptable!! The clerk did try to find a dolly from another facility but was not successful. The truck that was recommended did NOT hold all of my belongings. Also I thought I had reserved the largest climate controlled storage unit but when my truck with belongings arrived they did NOT have the unit Available. So I wound up having to rent 2 units which cost A LOT more. I would recommend that you personally check your truck and storage unit BEFORE your moving day. I didn't and got scr***d. It wound up costing me significantly more than I budgeted for

The one problem I had was that U-Haul somehow discontinued my automatic billing earlier this year and treated me as though I had not paid my bill. It was eventually straightened out.

Initially I was scheduled at another location, but they couldn't accommodate the storage I needed, so I found and transferred to this one. I'm very glad I made the switch. Luke Williams is the General Manager I believe. He was extremely patient and helpful with each of us - his customers; and the place was swamped with trucks being dropped off. I made the truck reservation well over a month ago for 11 AM pick-up yet when I arrived I was told that there was no truck available and that the "online resevation system is not accurate". I traveled in to Chapel Hill from Pennsylvania to helpmove my son and this created a major issue for us. A truck was provided to me at 12:45 PM however this almost 2-hour delay was unacceptable. I will now think twice about renting from this location for future moves (August).
