The ramp on the first motorcycle trailer, I hooked up to had steel wire coming out of the ramp that could've punctured my tire. So I had to go back and connect another trailer that was safer for my motorcycle to travel on the trailer.

The only issue we had was not with the facility or the staff of the location. I "successfully" reserved a 10x9x9 unit on 5/13 and received and email confirmation (excerpt below), but there were no units of this size available when we arrived. Storage Reservation Reservation #: 824078-00108015 Move-In Date: 5/16/2025 Storage Space Reserved: 10' x 9' x 9' Drive Up Description: Drive Up 1st Floor Outside Level No Climate Monthly Rent: $134,95 Insurance: $11,95 This is not the facilities fault. It is a flaw in your software or more accurately your policy of willfully misleading customers. Now I will be charged more than $50 more per month if I have to use for more than a month. This is underhanded and I will not use your storage option again.

I was uncomfortable with the fact that a photo of my driver's license was taken using a cell phone. I would like to know whose cell phone was used and where this information is being stored. My license had already been uploaded to the secure U-Haul website, and this feels like an unnecessary exposure of personal identifiable information (PII).

The customer service was amazing. Everyone was helpful to me with making the best choices, when I was too overwhelmed too think straight. This experience was almost seemless from renting the van to getting the storage to moving in and out the storage. You have amazing staff.

The truck we got was almost on empty when we picked it up and then when I went to return the truck I was about to be charged 70 dollars on gas charges even though I had already put in $30 of gas. Just a little ridiculous. Also the latch and ladder of the truck were rusted.

The truck was dirty, smelled like cigars, doors unlocked and open. No hand truck (was reserved). I did the app pick up (before center was open) and that is not worth the trouble. The process is extensive, much could have been done before pick up day rather than trying to do it in below freezing temps on the side of the road where the truck was parked. It's a UHAUL, I expected the condition although the centers in Fredericksburg have never rented a truck to me that was this dirty. I will say the Gentleman on site when I returned the truck was helpful and friendly, hopefully he will follow through with refunding the dolly rental fee.

Overall experience and customer service was good. Only issue was the car trailer that I intended to rent, had a flat tire and one of the straps was torn. Luckily, they did have a car dolly on site that I was able to rent. Car dolly was in good condition and functioned as it should.

Above average, the best U-Haul place ever, Everyone was extremely helpful on what storage unit I needed as well as the rental truck. I was able to get done everything I needed to get done. Thank again

The only issue was when all the locks got changed and we didn't get notified. Once we attempted to enter the unit it took about a week to get a working key to access it. Other than that the unit was clean (besides the expected mouse droppings) and dry at all times.

Good and friendly customer service. Lack of parking on site and tight parking spaces. Facility was generally clean, but I gave a "No" answer above because potholes in between units should be filled. 7 pm is early to close gates, and paying extra for later hours should not be necessary. Always had vehicles ready on time.

This was an excellent U-Haul facility. Natasha and staff were super friendly, helpful and informative. The access was good and very clean, and cost was reasonable. I like U_Haul since they do not raise their rates frequently as other facilities do. I would definitely store my furniture here again, and would recommend this facility to others!

Only negative is the UHaul policy of charging a fee if you don't fold blankets. So we folded them. But it's like a restaurant making you wash dishes after your meal. ;)

The store manager has a wonderful heart and is very polite.I have been dealing with this facility for almost 3 years now and she is always awesome.I don’t think I would visit another uhaul store because nothing is better than seeing a smiling and friendly face when visiting a store.

I was told that I had a free month month of storage upon renting my truck. I was misinformed by 5 different people that I spoke with,I was given a raggedy truck, and my storage was NOT FREE!!!! I had to end up paying $95 for it!!! All because the people that works through u haul is NOT properly trained or know accurate info!! So yes my entire experience sucked and I will not recommend nor will I ever come back!!

Tasha (the manager) at the Elm Drive location in Mechanicsville, VA was amazing from "Start" to " Finish". Her knowledge of products and services of Uhaul was stellar. Her consistent professional demeanor was kind and courteousness throughout each interaction with her. She took the time out to help me understand my options during my "rental unit" lease and even in my moving process and relocation to NY state. Tasha is indeed an asset as an employee in her role at Uhaul and represents the company well. My interactions with her definitely exceeded my expectations. I would definitely rent a storage unit from an Uhual dealer again.

Very good experience. I've rented at other facilities. The store is well stocked with moving supplies and prices for boxes are cheaper than big box stores. The manager, Natasha Carr, helped me get a moving van for a day after another franchise canceled a two month reservation without warning. I'm forever grateful. The storage unit was clean and always easy to access.

Experience was good. One area that you could improve on is the check out process associated with returned U-Haul vehicles. As a storage unit customer, I had to wait on multiple occasions to get to my unit because of a vehicle being inspected at the entry gate. Seems like a logistics issue that can easily be rectified. Somewhat miss leading about payment time. First time using went on line day before due was and stated no charge... Knew I'd gotten month free, so the next time I went in to pay I had a late fee. It was explained to me, but I felt the site was purposely leadimg. The time at Mechanicsville U-haul was great.

At the time I rented the storage unit, I was assured that the first month was free and thereafter all additional payments would be automatically billed to the credit card on file. Then about the time the storage fee is due, I start getting all these phone calls stating that my payment is overdue. I go in to make the payment and I get charged a $15-20 late payment fee. That's when I am informed that autopay was never set up! Not a happy customer at this point. Is there anyone who's willing to remedy this? In addition, they said they sent me a receipt for my payment on storage facility. Never arrives in my email. Have to call back, stay on hold for 15 minutes, they email me a receipt but nothing to show what was billed to the card. Now, have to call back and request receipt again. Very annoyed and dissatisfied. Not a seamless, reasonably pleasant experience doing business with UHaul.

I never got into my unit without having to wait. The access was ALWAYS blocked with trucks being returned, being clean out after return or just sitting in the driveway. Very frustrating when you are on a schedule and have to wait. I even had employees let me go in through the out gate to get around the traffic jam.

The attendant that assisted me on Sunday was very kind and thorough. She was able to find what I needed aNd had a pleasant attitude. The next day we needed a storage unit and the manager on duty was just as kind and helpful. I would definitely use this location for future needs and would recommend to anyone in need. I received a free 30 day storage unit. The owner/employee manually opened the gate for me and I enter the facility to unload/load my items into my newly acquired unit. Upon completion of unloading I proceeded to exit the storage. Prior to leaving I put my code (which was created & provided by the owner/employee) into the gate access kiosk & it opened. I returned the next evening around 8:18pm and my code was denied. Same code, same location. The only difference is it was the entry kiosk. The evening prior I used my code in the exit kiosk. I was continually denied access. I was told by the owner & it's also on their website, that access hours are 5am-10pm. I've been waiting almost an hour & have been on hold with corporate for over 30 minutes & counting. I will have to temporarily end this comments section of the review for this facility until I am able to get a resolution as I'm still waiting 9:14pm Friday, September 11, 2020....to be continued

I had no problems from the facility... But when doors were replaced and locks were changed.. many issues afterwards all stemming from the poor quality of locks that were provided by uhaul... No management in place at facility to help.. still charged fully even though I couldn't access my belongings over a 3 month period. I requested a manager to call me, never received one... Cut wrong lock off door... Besides that, they were wonderful

A new roof on the facility is great but it was disturbing to figure that out when my belongings were covered in roof debris, dust, shingle scraps and nails. Notice should have been given to tenants.
