Excellent staff but they were hindered by a very glitchy and crashing computer system, pick up line was 10 deep because of it, get these hand working staff proper computer support, it would make the operation more efficient and you would have happier customers

Jose RSuper-easy drop off! Drive through drop-off! Easy to access from the main road and the facility was well designed for the ease of customers coming in and out with a variety of rentals. U-Haul team member helping me was efficient, friendly and helpful. We were done with our trailer rental drop-off in 5 minutes!

When I asked about a receipt or proof that I had returned the trailer, the attendant rolled his eyes and said I would get an e-mail later. When I refused to leave the facility without such proof he was clearly annoyed and made a big fuss about having to check the trailer in. He finally did it after making me feel like I was asking for something ridiculous.
JOAQUIN SEasy process to set up the appointment via the app, the team at the time of drop off were friendly and efficient. Had my new hitch installed in < 2 hours!
Lisa SWasn't sure that you were supposed to just pull up to the drop off area I thought you had to go in there was trucks all over waiting for something. I'm not sure what so it was kind of tight in and out of there.
BRIAN DThe self/online check-in process was glitchy, unhelpful, and I still had to go inside and wait for the representatives to help me. The vehicle itself had some damage - the uhaul ID number was partially scratched off, the panel for the dome light button inside was broken off and dangling by a wire, and the max a/c setting blew warm air. I ended up paying twice as much as I expected/was quoted because I got charged $60 (a little more than all other charges combined) for fuel for driving 14 miles even though the fuel gauge still read as full when I returned it. I just needed to move a couch, man. I regret choosing uhaul and will not make the same choice in the future.

Thomas M | Expérience généraleThe staff was friendly, and tried to be helpful but frankly did not seem to be well versed in self storage. We got to the facility with plenty of time before it closed, with a self storage reservation. It took forever to get a unit number, and at first they said that we may not even get a unit which was very stressful. Finally, close to closing they directed us to the wrong building and we could not find our unit. We had to go ask again before we realized our unit was in a different building. We then didn't have access because it was after hours technically. Fortunately we were able to move everything into storage because I had to leave the following morning and could not come back the next day. Overall, I got everything I needed, but the whole ordeal was extremely stressful and took way longer than necessary.

All I wanted to do was rent a trailer and I had to go through question after question about did I want extras. Put them all on one page if you must. I gave up trying to reserve on the app and simply called the 800 number and reserved with a live person. It takes way less time than using the app. I'll never use the app again.

ROBERT DCustomer service was terrific, I wish I had thought to get the agents name. I was later for my pickup than planned, and I appreciated the phone call they made to me. My truck was ready to go, just jumped in and took off! The truck itself was extremely clean and in very good condition. Drop off was a breeze; just pull into the return lane, give them the key, and you're on your way! I have been renting at this specific location for more than 30 years, when I first arrived as a college student! For me, it is the best full service U-Haul location in the area!

CRISTINA GBrandon M is very helpful. With his assistance I had everything I needed for a smooth move and none of the items I was worried about got damaged. The only thing I would suggest is for the location to make sure the equipment is cleaned out after every use. ( I personally do not like getting into a dirty truck and because I was moving and under time restraints I did not have time to do it myself. Luckily I had purchased everything I needed for my items to be protected).
TIFFANY YThe truck we had was in pretty rough shape. The drivers door was really hard to close as well as the back door. It didn't roll up easy and you had to rough it up to get it up.

I was told that I could add the person to pick up as an added driver and there should not be a problem. When he arrived at the store to pick it up, the truck was not reserved and was experienced a worker with a bad attitude.
Jacqueline ZI had to wait 15 minutes when returning trailer. Finally U-Haul counter agent who was on the phone told me just to drop and go. Need to up staffing to avoid long waits during business hours!

AUSTIN GIf rate for rental is $19,99 a day plus taxes equalling approximately $33 how does 5 days of use equal $556 dollars? 5 days at the rental rate is $165 plus a return gas fee of $76 equalls $241. Please adjust your billing correctly in accordance to your "best rate guarantee extended rental" policy

AARON PStorage facility was clean however boys working there seemed confused about everything. They told me where it was tried to get in building was locked. They neglected to tell me that my code wouldn't work for two hours. The actual storage Unit was zip tied when I got to it, had to ask someone else for help who happened to be in their storage unit so that they could help me cut the zip tie off. Had to go back to front office couple times since the front desk did not tell me various info about the unit.

And he worked with me on several different scenarios and we caught everything done And he was the only one there and the place got busy and he was multitasking. He did a fantastic job kept us cool and was professional and friendly and helpful. You need to give him a raise.

With about five customers in line ahead of me to begin, it took an hour to be served. There were several other Uhaul employees just standing around waiting to be told to fetch something or run errands. But only one person was at the computer processing customers on a Friday morning/afternoon. 2. The one person at the computer processing customers kept breaking away from his job to text message someone and take personal phone calls which made the wait unnecessarily even longer. After each time he finished with his cellphone, it took him a minute to figure out where he was and what he was supposed to be doing on the computer. 3. When it was my turn in line, he assigned me a unit (1127, I think). When I went out to the unit, it already had a chrome lock on it. It was already occupied. I went back inside and waited 20 minutes for him to finish with a customer. 4. When it was my turn again, he searched on the computer then told me he doesn't have any units. I told him that I had a reservation and asked how can they not have any units if I have a reservation. He then told me that they were over-sold and that since my reservation was free that I don't have a unit. My mind was absolutely blown. I told him that doesn't make any sense at all. I said that the Uhaul website offered me a free month's rental on a confirmed reservation for a unit. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say anything about being oversold or that my reservation was pending or on standby for a unit to come available. I told him that the Uhaul website didn't say that if I accept the free month's rental that I would be put on standby instead of having a confirmed reservation for an existing unit. I told him that this was extremely bad business. 5. I asked him to cancel my reservation. He told me he already did. I have had a long-standing relationship with Uhaul at other locations around the country. This, by far, was the absolute worst. It was embarrassing. I'll let you guys do the analysis of my review and try to sort out how to resolve your own issues. Fortunately, there were other storage companies with available space on short notice without a reservation. I went with Cube Smart down the street. Their prices were reasonable, and their staff was extremely helpful. Thank you for allowing me to submit a review and report of what happened last week. Maria E | Expérience généraleMy experience with U-Haul was horrible it was far beyond less than any expectation I would have for a company of U-Haul size we were given the wrong destination to begin with before we even left with the vehicle I called and had that corrected as well as the storage unit location corrected yet later that night when we showed up to put our items in the unit and return the truck we were not able to as the place we were sent was closed after we were told we could access to a certain time after all of this we continued to have issues with U-Haul and called them countless times three days straight and finally talk to somebody it looked at the computer fine to look at the surrounding cities to see if there was any storage available since storage was not originally set up like we were told it was

If I wrote down all of the disgusting comments he told me, I'd be typing for hours. Horrible, disgusting storage facility and when I'd tell people, who had storages elsewhere, about the price and the service, and the comments I was told, they'd laugh in shock and talk about how their storage facility manager/owner treated them like a friend with respect. Uhaul is a disgusting, disrespectful and deplorable place to rent from.

The phone systems rerouted to a general line and never went directly to the store.

Gary went the extra mile and took us personally back to the units. We were on a very tight schedule and we got unloaded (had to go with indoor units, plural) in a very short time and on our way. Customer service at its best. You may want to check the 15ft truck tie rods, etc. as the handling seemed little loose. Keep these people though!! If I could give more stars, I would.

Thankfully we didn't need after- hour access again, but that is the reason for the slightly lower rating.

The location was understaffed which led to very long wait times to check-in and to get on the road. The staff available were extremely polite and as helpful as possible. U-Haul's mobile check-in does not work. This is not a complaint about the location. They do not control the app. This is on corporate. Tons of pressure could have been taken off the limited staff had this app worked properly.

Was given a storage unit only to find it already had a lock on it... and then this happened a second time... and each time took way too long to figure out. The staff were overwhelmed and poorly managed by the manager on site. What should have been a 30 min MAX experience turned into 1,5hrs of my time. It seemed like they were also missing a truck, which contributed to the disorganized chaos.

dana T | Expérience généraleMy original reservation wasn't available, and the office was unable to honor the original price of my storage unit - I was forced to pay nearly twice what my original rate was. I'm likely to call the customer service hotline to see if something can be done, e.g., a free month, a lower monthly rate, etc. I made the reservation more than two months before it started - you should change your system so that it doesn't allow new reservations if it's unlikely there will be space available on the start date.

Katy S | Expérience généraleWhen I arrived my unit had a zip-tie on it and no lock inside, which was the only thing I needed to actually get started. I had to go in the office and ask for one, which makes the online no-contact reservation idea pointless. I was able to figure it out, but the system of arming and disarming alarms at one panel, and opening the building doors at a different panel, was very confusing. I heard one alarm go off while I was moving in, and I'm sure that happens all the time. The unit numbering is also very confusing, and it took me a while to find the correct building (I'm in the 1600s). Going from the 1400s to the 2000s, and having the 1600s out front, makes no sense. Finally, the stairs to the upstairs units have a lip on them that makes it much harder to pull a dolly up them.

Tried again, hold for 25 minutes then routed to corporate answering service. They claim some random reason why the Uhaul website was wrong for the free month. They got through to the office in minutes. I was promised a reversal of charges. The original charge to card was not canceled. It went through. Received email of credit, but it hasn't hit my credit card. This free month seems like such a sham. Traveling out of state having bogus charges on my card is bad business and inconvenient during economic mayhem due to the virus. I'm disgusted.

Donovan C | Expérience généraleDear Austin Brown, I've had half a dozen excellent experiences w State St. Uhaul renting vehicles/trailers over the years (at least one of them directly with you), so when I needed storage space, it was a no-brainer, but I was sadly disappointed in the service I got. I reserved a 10x15 space online, and went to get access to it the following week (Tue Aug 4), Michael Fender was rude and exasperated to start, and let me know that the website's listed hours of access were wrong, requiring me to pay $10/mo more; and though it's not listed anywhere on the website, I had to provide or buy a discus-style lock. So far, not great, but workable. Then, my access card didn't work, and when I went back to the front to get it re-programmed, exasperation and rudeness increased. Then, when I finally got to the unit, there was a lock on it. After visually confirming, we went back to the front desk, and Michael searched for another 10x15 unit, but there were only 10x10 (too small for my needs) and 10x20 (too expensive for my budget). He was willing to waive the 24-hour access fee, and give me the lock for free, but I was only going to keep 24-hour access for a month anyway, so that didn't nearly make me whole for the difference of the price of the 10x15 and the 10x20. His only solution at that point was to direct me to the next available 10x15 unit *in Westland* which didn't work for that day (i needed to be somewhere *with my vehicle emptied* in 20 minutes), nor did it work for me in the long-run, being 25 minutes each way too far from my home base. I was understandably frustrated and rather than listen to my frustration, and acknowledge that, he sharply told me that he would not adjust the price to fit my needs, nor could the manager. As someone who manages people myself, and has had to deal with corporate bureaucracy, *I* would want the opportunity to address a repeat-customer's frustration myself, rather than risk losing their referrals and business forever, having been dismissed rudely by a front line worker. There was a line of 7 people and one worker, who do to policies such as requiring a visual check when someone vacates their unit, meant this worker had to walk all over the property as he was helping customers. He and the customers would have benefited from another staff person being available
