I rented a car dolly only to find that they could not find the one they rented and had no others. They recommended we try another location!! This, as we were headed to a 400-mile destination. I told them to forget it, forcing us to drive the extra vehicle to our destination. She promised some financial compensation for the trouble, but it had not been posted, several days later.

I set up for a 10x15. Got there to store my things, only to be told the unit I rented was never available and shouldn't have ever been rented to me. So I settled for a 10x10, which the first one rented to me was double locked like the 10x15. So the 3rd unit was actually finally available. While the staff was nice and facility great, the system is trash. I now have to figure out what to do with my stuff that won't fit.

Besides a trailer, I rented a climate controlled storage unit. This proved to be a challenge as after I was given the size I wanted and hauled my stuff, I found the unit was rented. So I have to settle for something smaller, which took 2 attempts due to system not showing units as rented properly. Had I known the size unitbi wanted wasn't available, I would have arranged something else instead of how I ultimately had to store my things

Just remodel abit

This would be 5 stars if the truck had been cleaned out prior to me receiving it. The cab had wrappers and a cup. The box had what appeared to be refrigerator baseplates, screws and misc trash. The employee that checked the truck out to me was prompt in sweeping out the box. So the issue was quickly resolved but it does show a break down in intake process. Overall great store, thank you.

I was overcharged, the equipment I leased was not available, plus I was forced to drive 30 mins out of my way when there was another U-haul (Bruns Lane) next to my house.

Trailer we rented had broken straps, didn't realize until we were ready to strap down the car. They took an hour of our rental time to find and then switch the truck out. Complete waste of time and money, definitely will not be using this u-haul again.

I thought it was pretty bad that I moved all my stuff out way before the new due date and nothing was refunded. That's not a good business. I didn't use it for the whole month that I paid. So I should have been reimbursed what I didn't use.

I was charged twice for my rental. The first charge was when I picked up the rental. They charged me again when I picked up my rental. The refunded me the difference from the first charge. However, the second charge they claimed they did not do. I called my bank and was informed that the second charge was done around the time I dropped my rental off and the difference refunded to the first charge. Highly upset with this particular location.

I needed to pick up 7 Uboxes that day and I had to extend my Uhaul rental because the store was ridiculously slow. Each time I went to pick up another 2 Uboxes I had to wait over an hour for the 1 forklift certified employee to load the uboxes on the trailer. Two times I went there I had to wait more than 15 minutes both times for him to get out of the bathroom. WHAT A JOKE

Many back and forth conversations about when my payment was due. I was finally told I wouldn't have to pay if I had my stuff out by 12/15 by 5pm and I was still continuously getting late payments. I went in to get my truck to finally move all my stuff out and the guy behind the counter kept talking to someone else in her ear pods. Very poor customer service. Next time I called after I got a late payment some young girl answered and had to explain everything to her and she said she would get it taken care of and that didn't go as planned either.

We rented a 15' truck with our corporate account for 2 days. On the 2nd day it wouldn't start or take jump after 45 minutes of attempt i asked Gavin if i could replace the truck with another. He said because it was a corporate it would require me to make another reservation and since i don't carry my computer with me i couldn't but i could make a residential reservation with the app on my phone. I did it because the truck was loaded for a move and it cost us more money. We've rented trucks from you regularly for 3 years along with 3 storage units and this is the treatment we get. It wasn't Gavins fault it was your corporate policy. Please contact me to further discuss the matter.

The storage unit and facility was excellent. After I put my belongings in the unit, the Clearlake location was sold out of the locks we are to apply. I went to two other locations and they were also sold out of the locks. So the young woman at the Clearlake desk stated she would apply a lock. I was on a strict schedule and out of state. When my son went to get my belongings, the man at the desk was unable to get code/combo to the lock. They were told they would have the woman who had the code call the next day, which never happened. I called several times within that week and was told they would call back. Then when I called yet again they said sure just come here and we'll take it off. When getting there, the same woman stated that she had already removed it when my son was there, which was not true. She then told me it's off and I can get my stuff. I went to unit and the lock was still on it. I went back in and explained it to her. She got an attitude with me and walked in extremely fast pace to unit, took of lock and stormed off. Then they attempted to charge me for another month because I cleared unit on approximately the 2nd of the month due to the staff not following through. I was very disappointed with staff's performance and the lack of professionalism.

The van had just 3/4 tank when I picked it up, which I told them about (and took a picture) before I drove it away (their form incorrectly stated 7/8 tank). I put in 2 gallons of gas and returned it at the exact same level, 3/4. And yet they charged me $9,5 for an additional 2 gallons of gas.

Cost way to much for what it is! And then to charge people for 3 months after they couldn't afford to pay you for a tiny box on the ground with stuff in it and then drag people to court over stuff in a box! Never again!

My only comment would be to see if you can do something about the amount of dust. It seemed like there was a lot of dust accumulated for the amount of time my stuff was stored there. Very minor I know, and that would not keep me from returning or recommending. Very happy overall.

We thought we had access to our unit 24 hours a day, but we were told we'd have to pay an extra $10 a month for that kind of access. The unit was already $100 per month. We could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere.

Staff rude. Threatened to sell my stuff because she didnt see me coming up with $958 in a hour. Just not nice at all. I paid my fees drove 2 hrs away to pick up my things and they still had a lock on it. When i finally got in my storage after calling the store manager which i waited for a hour and some my tv was broken. Overall experience was horrible and Uhaul can never get my money again.

I worked with DiAngelo in the beginning and he was wonderful and extremely helpful. He went over to South 6th street and brought over my daughters uhaul moving box to the Clear lake location where we were going to store her belongings. He went above and beyond. And then the day we came to unload he moved the box where we could unload it easier with where her storage unit was located. The only negative I found is they don't clean the storage unit floors very well- she had papers and misc small items in her unit before we unloaded. The floors throughout the storage facility don't look like they're ever washed- they are swept - just don't look very clean. It would also be nice to have a garbage can for when we need to throw away things that are left by other people. Instead we took them home and threw them away. But otherwise we were pleased and would use the facility again.

I've rented for long periods with other Uhaul factualities, we travel and often store our belongings. My first phone inquiry and encounter at this location was horrendous. Very poor customer service and phone interaction, and absolutely uninformed. I honestly didn't want to rent here at that point. At some point I figured I'd just swing through and see what the deal was…that's when we met Deangelo and Melissa! He was awesome! Totally went out of his way to interact and answer any concerns. He showed us around and treated us like VALUED customers! After a short time, my concerns had diminished and I felt glad to be there. He is management material! Melissa too was very friendly and accommodating…she was obviously swamped with work after being without power and suffering the managerial duties of storm recovery! She was working it BIG TIME! I feel much more comfortable using this service having met them both! Merci!

My unit was broken into and the manager claimed that we were the ones that broken in and took our own stuff. We only access our unit 3 times a year, when we entered the building the building was open. The manager said that he had a video that he turned over to the police department and the police told me that no video was turned over. I feel that they could of been a little bit more helpful with this matter and they were not. Told me that they couldn't tell me that last time my code was used. Why would they say there was a video but nothing was turned over to the police. I feel that they have something to hide.

I could of used my free storage unit before bringing back truck so I could empty the truck with out having to rent it for a second day or at least pro rated it..2 hrs from time it had to be returned and had to pay for whole another day and could of had it all done in 1 night if I had the storage unit at the time I rented the truck..the staff was very friendly

Lots of mice issues but I'm not sure that's anyone's fault - just how self storage works. We were using outside storage, so it would be easy for mice to access. Otherwise everything else was fine. Ample security, plenty of light, staff was always friendly. Prices were acceptable. Will return for future storage needs.

The staff was very rude and disrespectful toward me at times. Once blocked the truck so I couldn't get it out of parking lot someone stole the keys out of truck at the apartment I was renting they told me I had to go to another place to order keys which cost a lot of money and I talked to someone else that make keys for U-Haul and he made the key at no cost to me so that guy was trying to get extra money out of me no I would not recommend that place on clearlake in Springfield Ill to no one and I will not trade their anymore. I had COVID when I lost my storage laying in a hospital so you mean there was no concern for that .

Everything was excellent except the ceiling above our indoor unit was crumbling off onto our belongings. There was white ceiling power and flakes all over everything. The other thing that upset us is that we put furniture in there that had nothing wrong with it and now we are finding cockroaches in it. I am sure they came from other units since the ceiling of every indoor unit is open for any bug from other units to infest everyone else's unit. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful and we will still recommend the business to others. We were impressed with how clean the floors were and would see an employee cleaning each time we were there to move the items in and out. Thank you for your kindness to us, we will use U-Haul in the future if we need storage or truck rental.

You ask the wrong questions. The staff was helpful and alway tried to fix and many many problems that came up. On separate ovations I was charged for the wrong unit, over charged, after paying in full every month my unit was put up for auction "accidentally". That was fixed and then my lock was changed by Uhal and no one had the code to get me in when I was trying to clear out.

On 7/9 at approximately 3:45pm I arrived at the Clear Lake location in Springfield, IL. My husband, I and my father were greeted by a store associate by the name of "Fate". We informed him that I had a reservation for a 10x20 storage unit. He looked by reservation by name and informed me that he could not locate my reservation. He then asked for my phone number and was then able to locate the reservation. He then asked me for my ID and a 2nd point of contact for the storage unit. After giving that information he informed me that they did not have any 10x20 units available but he could see there were two 10x10 units close by each other. It took him about 30 mins to locate a couple 10x10 units but was unable to merge them together in the system. We went to look at the units to ensure they were clean and empty. Upon coming back into the store he informed us that for some reason the system was not letting him book me for one of the units. He then began searching again but was only able to show smaller units. He then stated he located two units but one was smaller than the other. Be advised an hour and half already gone by and my husband and father had left because they were frustrated with the situation. He then sat back in front of the computer after I informed him that the units that were on the contract were not the units that we looked at. I told him that I would feel more comfortable with two 10x10 units. During that time another associate whose name I did not get an opportunity to ask, asked me what size unit I needed. I informed her that I needed two 10x10 units next to each other. She immediately got on her computer and located units 1050 and 1052 with in a matter of 2 minutes. She assisted Fate in place those units in my name and I was out of there in 5 mins. I was so upset because the entire process took 2 hours and 15 mins with "Fate" that took the young lady all of 5 mins to complete. I was also upset with the fact that we reserved a 10x20 unit a week in advance only because not have it available to us upon arrival. We are a military family that drove all the way from Kansas to Illinois with two small children just to have this inconvenient situation occur. My husband is still very upset about it and is asking that UHaul give the 2nd month of storage free for the inconvenience.

We are very pleased with our experience with U Haul at Clear Lake and Dirksen Parkway. If we ever have a need for storage or moving projects, we will certainly use this facility.

The entire experience was fairly easy, I did everything online. When you purchase a storage online they give you 2 options and I chose option (pay now) so that I could have everything ready to move my things in. Once I got to my unit, I realized I didn't have a lock which was an option I chose so I could have everything ready. Well that wasn't the case I had to ask someone for assistance and they both were completely clueless and kept saying idk what to do. I can't give you something that we don't have which was completely rude!!!!!!! I was trying to get in and out. I had to spend more money for something that was included in the option that I chose. If a lock is going to be included this is something that should ALWAYS be in stock to avoid any mishaps and unwanted rude customer service.

6 weeks into my boat storage I was informed that the facility was not zoned for the storage of boats or RVs, so I would need to move my boat ASAP. Very inconvenient considering I was out of town when I received the call and had to have someone else move thr boat. I was offered another facility at 3x the price I was paying but declined.
