Truck was well maintained and clean as a whistle! The service lady was very polite and professional and your crew that keeps them running are super! Your truck really saved the day for me in an emergency need at the last minute and the price for the six hours I used it was well worth it!

Truck had over 94 000 miles on it and was not a good oneway truck for 1000 mile trip, steering pulled to the left and left turn signal did not work, took over 2 hour wait to get it repaired.

When I called the Gause location in Slidell, LA, I was told a 10-foot truck would be ready for pickup on Saturday morning. However, on Friday evening, I received a text stating the truck would instead need to be picked up in Hammond, LA-50 miles away. The staff at this location was very nice and helpful. I went to the Gause location on Saturday morning to clarify the situation and was told a truck would be available at 2 p.m. Unfortunately, the truck was not there at that time either. After several calls to U-Haul, a truck was finally located at the Gause location, but not until after 4 p.m. Because of this delay, I had to cancel and still pay the movers I had scheduled for 2 p.m. This experience was extremely frustrating, inconvenient, and entirely avoidable.

The staff here met me in the parking lot, advised me where to take the trailer then quickly and efficiently removed the trailer and inspected it. Very professional, courteous, and helpful. Definitely recommend this location!

I reserved a 26 ft U-Haul almost 2 weeks in advance. The day of pick up I arrived at the location to find out that there was no 26ft U-Haul available at that location and that U-Haul changed my pick up location to an 1 & 1/3 hours away without any phone call or warning tell me. We then had to travel 30 minutes away to get a 20ft U-Haul. We made a cross country move and now have to make a second trip because not all of our stuff fit in the 20 ft truck. This location was fine, but U-Haul was terrible. Would not recommend. What is the point in reservations if you won't have the truck when the day comes?

Trailer was old and worn out. Trailer door was very hard to open. On return, U-Haul said I could return to and address that upon delivery, they would not accept. So, I drove to another place where the people were difficult.

The trailer tie down points in some places were missing. The trailer lights malfunctioned the whole 1050 miles. Leading the 2025 truck to pull like crap due to off and on detection the whole time. Haul used to be a 100 % solution now it's a "do I chance it, used to be really good before this encounter…"

There was very poor customer service, the worker that was there was very rude to me ! She had a nasty attitude … she was a young black girl with braids kind of light skinned and I'm black my self .. she was also rude to another lady .. she didn't answer none of my questions I ask her . She felt like I was a bother to her . I rented a U-Haul truck from Ponchatoula and I drop it off at the one in Slidell I was given a free storage rental for one month . The girl gave me a piece of paper and didn't not explain on which unit I would go too !! She was very unprofessional and unconcerned . It was very poor customer service.. I really hope the manager would look into this thoroughly.. definitely would refer nobody to go there !!

They should make sure the lights on the trailes actually work. Is unprofessional how we rented a trailer , they said everything was good. We were driving for 3 hours and we did NOT see that the lights werent working. We called uhaul service and they didn't help us. Our experience here was Horrible. We had to spend extra money from our pockets to try and fix the problem..

Truck was unavailable at the store where I had requested pickup. Day before call saying the reserved pickup was not available, and that I had to drive over 40 miles to pickup a truck at another location. At first they wanted me to wait until much later to get available truck. After I complained, they looked for other possible options. This makes me very nervous about using UHaul in the future.

Everyone was kind, helpful and professional. I have a very severe head injury do to a fall hitting my head on a steel file cabinet at work 15 months ago. Prior to that, my mother died and took every dime I had to bury her. My job fired me Sept., 2024 and I have not received Workman comp payments as of this date although I have been approved. Your staff helped me allowing a payment compromise of $1,500. I am so grateful for the help received and wil never forget your kindness. Thank you,

People at the desk had a horrible attitude. I had one pack of blankets that were not opened and I was told by a clean up associate I could turn them in and get my money back. The gentleman that was trying to help me said he could not see them under my contract. When I tried to explained to him that o had to go to a different u-haul location to get blankets because the first place didn't have any he told me not to get mad at them. This is not someone that needs to be working a desk at any business and has no concern for customer with his attitude.

My truck rental was rescheduled twice. On the second attempt, the keys provided were incorrect, which prevented us from leaving until the following day. When we checked in, the process was incomplete because they used the check-in information from the previous day. We should have verified everything ourselves. To make matters worse, a storm was happening at that time. When we finally arrived at the location, the truck got stuck in the mud. Although we had insurance through U-Haul, their policy didn't cover this situation, and the cost would be an additional $450. We decided to call our own tow truck, which cost $300 less than U-Haul's service. We returned the truck on time, but were charged an extra $85. I was informed that the extra charge was because we didn't replace the gas. However, we filled the tank before returning the truck miles. I pointed out that the staff did not check the truck due to the incident the previous day. When I called the company to inquire about the extra charge, I was initially told it was due to the claim for the truck being stuck. I explained that we had called our own tow truck and paid for it ourselves, despite having U-Haul insurance. The representative then said, "Oh, okay, that doesn't sound right; hold on let me check." After a moment, they returned and told me that the charge was because we didn't replace the gas and had exceeded the mileage by 181 miles.

Receptionist was rude did not have my reservation that I reserved over a week, then had to pick up a trailer and paid more than I was previously supposed to pay and now UHaul is trying to charge me 170$ extra because one of the reps told me the wrong information. Worst UHaul experience I've ever had will not recommend or return to UHaul.

The cashier who booked the U-Haul was very rude. For no reason at all. On top of that she didn't explain how I would he charge upon returning. Also, when I got in the U-Haul it wasn't to the half mark. I returned it on half thinking that was the right thing to do. Even upon return the same girl was there and of course being rude to me again. I will never use y'all services again! Never!!!!!

The representative told me to guess the distance I would be driving then I ended up getting charged for driving 31 miles when I drove 28. I am highly upset about being charged extra! When I went to turn the car in, the rep didn't ask me to record my own odometer reading. I called customer service when I discovered the additional charge on my card.

My mom passed away a month ago and we will be needing to rent a uhaul a few times in the next month or so. I will never use this company again. We rented the UHaul, the girl was not friendly at all, we got it Friday afternoon, so we could have everything loaded and ready to go early Saturday morning. We realized one of the back tires was flat so we went to the Racetrac to add air. The valve stem was broken so you could not add air. We returned to the UHaul office to explain the problem and they were not helpful at all. Did nothing to resolve the issue. Thanks for a really crappy customer service experience..

I have had this unit since May of 2013. It was untouched since 2016. When I arrived to empty it in April of 2024, it was like opening a time capsule! The cardboard boxes were pristine and there was barely even any dust on the furniture! The office staff was amazing and even took pictures so that I could post items on Facebook Marketplace. I will absolutely recommend this facility in the future! Thank you!!!

My move out date was 1/13/2024. However, I received a late payment email on 1/18 and a late fee charge. I called and spoke to someone. She noted one unit was still showing active. I emptied the units, left the doors open and notified the employee that I was moving on 1/13/2024.

My only complaint was the multiple increases in the rates. It felt as if the company was taking advantage of the current economic situation. It's hard to imagine that the expenses associated with running this type of business increased so much that at least 3 rate hikes were required in less than 3 years.

Only difficulty I had was getting my things to B260. The cart was a but diff to push up that ramp, it kept wanting to roll back down. I'd recommend carts with handles on each end, so things wont' slide off and easier if only one person. But thats just a side note, it was all good. Merci

Y'all need to increase your staff. That poor young lady yesterday was by herself and she was swamped. The only other thing that you have changed that I didn't care for is the constant pushing on the phone to download your app! I got the message the first 4 times it told me about it. If a customer wants it, they will download it. Really annoying. But I will say your staff was always very courteous and helpful.

I will never rent a storage from U-Haul again. I was charged with two 15 dollar charges I called and ask to speak to a manager she would not get in the phone I had to ask repeatedly for her to talk to me and the worker said their was nothing she can do so finally going back and forth Jessie finally got on the phone and I asked could one of the 15 dollar charges be removed and she stated no so I asked if there was anyone above her like corporate number and she said she was the boss so I googled corporate and my charge was removed and the customer service rep set me up with auto draft. Yesterday 8/17/2023 I can to remove all my items from storage when I went to the office to let the employee know she told me I had to go back to my storage and take a picture of it being emptied and show her my lock. The lock was in one of my boxes and I refuse to go back to the unit because of the heat index and my car was loaded with items. So another associate volunteered to go. Just a very unprofessional staff and I took all my items and place them with another storage company right down the street. If it wasn't for the U-Hauls that are rented out this place would surely be out of business

It was like a dungeon, old and dark . Holes in the outside wall of our storage unit with a large rat trap. Very dark and could not see in the unit . I would never recommend. You can go to Southern Storage in Pearl River for the same price and it is first class. I moved in and moved right back out .

Storage old and gross looking. Could hardly see in storage, gave me unit same time person moving out . Had to wait 45 minutes while person unloaded storage to load storage . Cracks all in the outside wall of my storage and supposed to be climate controlled and large rat trap at the end of my storage. If we would not have unloaded entire uhaul truck not knowing how bad it looked we would have moved to another facility. Maybe you should put actual pictures on internet to let people actually see what it really looks like. Would never ever use again.

The only thing I wish was that like on a Friday or Saturday they had an access till midnight because sometimes I work late and I have to run back and forth to my storage and by 10:00 is too late because I'm a very busy person but other than that everything is Stellar there. It's got everything in its place for good successful business.

My customer service experience was great!!! But overall I did not care for the unit. My furniture was covered with ants and spiders were everywhere. I was only able to visit my storage unit in the day time and even then I had to bring a flash light because there wasn't any lights. When I removed my furniture from the unit I had to clean it several times to get all the ants from inside of it.

The return process (with Regina and another lady, whose name escapes me) was confusing / convoluted - as they were having difficulty confirming the reservation / payment for my storage unit, which I thought was taken care of at check in. My mom, daughter and I were exhausted from loading the truck, so we were anxious to get unloaded and home for a shower - naturally our patience was wearing thin. Regina was unable to activate the card at check-in, so she told me to give her a 4-digit code that I would be able to use instead; however, when I pulled up and tried to use my code - ACCESS DENIED! We were eventually granted access to the gate, only to see a lock on the unit. By this time, its past COB and the store is now closed, so I called the number provided and subsequently ran into the other employee outside, who thankfully removed the lock before she left. Once we were granted access to the unit, my mom injured her finger on 2 EXPOSED screws dangerously jutting out of the door! I have pictures of the injury as well as the screws. Made original reservations online. Called Twice to confirm. My son in law called a few days before he was to pick the truck up and they DID NOT have My reservation!!' This was a big mess and had to rearrange everything! EVERYTHING! Plans had to be changed at both ends of the move. At least I still have my storage unit reservation. Angie at the UHaul in Booneville, Ms. was very gracious, helpful and accommodating and at least in that end things went well. Obviously I am not a happy customer.l, especially having confirmed twice. If u need to use this company get names and reservation numbers and write them down! Unfortunately I did not.

It was a hit and miss for me. In the beginning it was great and staff was very nice. But after the first couple weeks something changed. Some of the staff was indifferent and not customer friendly. There were over charges and three times they were still trying to charge me for the unit after letting them know that I was moving my washer and dryer out and no longer needing the storage on July 1st. Honestly I have never had trouble with this location before and I am not sure if I would use them again.

Didn't get to move in, because they did not have my unit available that I reserved online. Tried to put me in a nonclimate controlled with a broken light and you can see an open space between wall and ceiling. I reserved climate controlled. Then the lady helping me had an attitude first with well I done told you 50, 000 times what she had available and how it works online and what climate controlled and non climate control was. She told me I should have reserved a unit with ac. So at 4pm on a Friday had to find another storage unit and now waiting on my refund.

I did a reservation online to secure my climate controlled unit. When I got there, the lady showed me where jy unit was. She said it had a broken light. I am like ok. Then I ask her if it was climate controlled she said yes. And insaid it doesn't feel like it and also the wells a space in the unit that was not closed off, so air, critters, etc can get in. So again I asked about climate controlled. She said we have units with a/c but didn't have any available. Um isn't that what I reserved. So we go back inside. There were 2 small climate controlled units available but not the size I needed. So while she is looking she is again saying I told you like 50 000 times what the unit was and things to that nature. The lady helping me was arguing with me and saying I was condisending. So here it was 4pm on Friday and had to search for a new location. So now I have to wait for my refund. Will NOT reccomend this place again

Lighting was only from the hallway, but the unit was clean and specious. The climate control was very good, even in the heat of July. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this location. One more thing. There are lots of units that are listed as second floor, but the loading ramp makes them equal to first floor storage. There are carts stationed to wheel your goods to the unit. The ramps are covered and well protected from the frequent rain in this area. Works very well.

By the time I got my truck unloaded and drove it up front, the staff noticed that something was wrong with me. They call d the paramedics, put my contract on hold, and I went to the hospital. Thank God they noticed my illness. I was suffering from heatstroke and my kidneys were shutting down. I spent 3days in the hospital. Thanks to the staff, Heather and Miranda, I am alive today. These girls went above and beyond and I believe that they should be rewarded for their outstanding work ethic and their kindness and caring for another human being. They are now on my guardian angel list. Love you guys!!!!!

The receptionist was friendly but the information to find our storage unit was bad to horrible. The building was not mapped properly; and we wasted 30+ minutes, after asking and calling the employees the location of our unit and being told it's here then there. Afterwards, we discovered the the facility does NOT have an elevator or ramp but stairs to get to the upper unit. Furthermore, we have to utilize this facility because there isn't another UHAUL near by besides New Orleans East.

My only complaint was that after I purchased the upstairs storage area, insurance and lock. I had to inquire about the 24 hour access to the storage area. However since my initial payment was already processed, 24 hour access couldn't be added to my account until February. An inconvenience nonetheless but everything else was fine.

I was very disappointed with the storage. My furniture that was in the locker had white mildew all over it. I was paying extra for climate control and it seems like it didn't do any good. Other than that I was satisfied. I am going to file a claim with my insurance because one of my living room chairs is ruined.

I would like to have been told there were stairs in the facility. Found out when I was loading in. There should be ramps, elevators or lifts. Didn't think that was something I needed to ask. I've had storage units before. Never stairs!

I had a reservation at another location but unknowingly to me, it was a preferred location. I needed the truck like right now. My daughter in-law called the Gause location and Ms. Amy was a godsend we picked up a truck and she asked that I have it back by 3pm. We were back by 1pm. Thank you so much Ms. Amy, you saved the day....

I had an exterior wall unit & the climate control was not adequate in that space. Despite signs that said the building was sprayed for pest control I regularly saw bugs (including cockroaches) around the building. I found termite wings in my unit also. Everytime I went to my unit there was dirt in the loading/unloading area. The lighting was fine in the hallways, but the outdoor & unit lighting is poor and with cameras only on the doors of the buildings, not inside, I believe it is sub-par for security. Finally, the repeated rent increases were the last straw and I changed to a new storage facility.

I moved out of my storage room but yet continued to receive notifications that I owed despite contacting UHAUL 4X.. They went as far as to contact my relative saying that I owed money WHEN I DID NOT OWE because I had already moved out! This iwas such an embarrassment as I had to explain to my relative what was going on! You folks have got to get it together!!!

I waited a total of 30 minutes from the time I got to the U-Haul storage storefront to get into my storage unit. I had to pay the movers for this time because of the poor management at the desk. There was one women there and she was juggle 3 phones calls while trying to check me into my reservation. She was going back and forth to each call helping everyone at the same time(including me) but the problem was that she was only giving each customer a small portion of her time which meant we all had to wait an extra long time. Honestly, I should have been priority because I was physically there and I had a reservation. Having to pay the movers more money for U-Hauls problems made me the most angry. It cost me $35 extra dollars that I paid to the movers. I would like to be refunded this money from U-Haul since it was U-Haul's poor customer service that led to me spending that money. I have been renting from U-Haul for years and have spent $1,000's of dollars here, but this experience makes me want to go elsewhere.

It may be helpful to install lighting inside of the storage units not just the hallways and outside of the buildings. Overall a pleasant experience.

Lyrae was very helpful from the time I pulled up. I have a small unit , she explained the size. I am interested in maybe getting a lager size after she explained that it's possible to upgrade to a larger unit when it becomes available. I misunderstood - thought I was getting one month free with a truck rental but she explained that because the truck was not a one way drop-off it was not qualified. She was very patient as I had many questions.

The employee at the facility lied to me on what the company policies were. Even though I cleared out my unit and returned the eguiptment 3 days prior to the next billing cycle she would not refund my deposit or future payment. When I spoke with a customer service representative they said they would resolve the matter. It has been a month and I still have yet to receive my refund on my deposit or the monthly fees that were not due for 3 days.

My only issue is when the pandemic hit and i was late paying due to waiting on the stimulus check or unemployment Uhaul didn't remove late fees. I felt they should have been more understanding. Other than that the staff was always nice, the storage kept my things protected and the price was reasonable.

I had never gone to my storage due to illness. When it was time to pickup my furniture, it had been ran through in my boxes items thrown around looking for valuables and brand new items were stolen down to kitchen towels and glass crafted beveled mirrors. My lock was cut and they put their own lock on it hoping I would not be able to access entry and the rest would be auctioned. They broke glass tables and all. ***Do Not*** store anything of value at this place. Highly disappointed since I have used Uhaul Tilane Ave for many years with no theft issues or poor service. I want all my items back!

U-Haul staff was always friendly and helpful. Access is amazing using the remote and key card. Unit was always clean as well as the facility. Paying online was a breeze! I've used U-Haul several times and would definitely use them again if storage is needed.

Your loading dock area could not, absolutely not have a worse configuration. Too steep, very unsafe no matter what you're loading and unloading. Especially a pallet with a pallet jack.
