AYLMER HI booked a 15 truck, which was/is in excellent condition, except for the driver's side mirror and its conveyed mirror. They are not adjustable and where they are set up, you can't see anything that is going on behind you nor beside you. This was road safety issue, for the driver and other vehicles, and I don't think it would pass the Department of Transportation Vehicle Inspection.

AYLMER S | Premières impressionsThe front desk guy failed to give me or to guide me to the registration and the MVI documents of the vehicle and insisted that there is no such documents, which were essential for my road test. When the officer indisted on that I found them behind the driver's seat. Furthermore, when I returned the vehivle I had already moved about 35 miles and filled 20$ gas. He insisted that the gas was not enough then I drove the vehicle again to the gas dtation and added 20$ gas once lore. This means that I paid 40$ for gas while the total milage i used the vehicle was less thzn 40 miles… this is obviously weared.

PETER Semployees are super nice, however the booking site isn't great. If you order items aside from the truck to be ready they don't show on the invoice.

bernie M | Premières impressionsI rented a 5 x 9 trailer. In fact the trailer was 4 foot 3" x 8'! Kind of deceiving to the customer that didn't show up with a measuring tape to confirm. Wasn't told by the staff that it was an actual different measurement, and they seem kind of shocked when I told them. No, I did find on the website description of the trailer yet it differed slightly from the sticker on the trailer. I rent trailers on the regular from U-Haul and this is the first time I ran into an issue. It would be better to tell the customers the trailer is smaller than it needs to tell them it's bigger thinking they can fit items in it when in fact, they can't.

LORI MI was not happy with my rental at all. I was told upon pickup that the fuel gauge was just a touch below full. This was not exactly the case. When I fueled up the truck, it cost me over $40 to fill the tank. I only drive 25km and half of that was with an empty truck! I didn't move the fuel gauge needle more than a quarter tank. My receipt proves that. There is no way that 25km cost me $40 in fuel. The fuel gauge was absolutley not accurate. When I told the attendant, he said that's just too bad! He didn't even try to address the situation and he certainly wasn't bothered. I won't be back and i certainly won't recomend it to anyone. Shoddy and unprofessional.
ANNA SPicked up vehicle after hours. Lock box was difficult to open and the key inside was jammed. Took a lot of effort to free key.
JASON JWe had the uhaul for business for over 4 days on a company account and we have used uhaul multiple times in the past and always our first call when it comes to an extra truck. We drive over 300kms a day, it would have been nice to have uhaul work with a small business in a tight time and at least give a small break on kms. They used to do that for us in the past. I wasn't very happy about that and honestly, it kinda changed my opinion of uhaul when it comes to having a valued and loyal customer.
KEVIN WI needed a truck with a 15 foot bed. I was extremely specific about this during booking (check the tape), and the associate assured me the bed was 15 feet. Turned out it was only 12 feet. There was no 20 foot available and I was forced to take the 15 which resulted in me having to physically damage my cargo to fit. Very disappointed. Your advertizing and website is misleading on purpose.

The fuel consumption was extremely high, and the fuel gauge was inaccurate, showing less than what it actually had. For a short trip of just 13 kilometers and an hour and a half of use, I ended up paying $70, which I find outrageously expensive. I am very dissatisfied with the cost and will definitely not be renting a truck from this service again.

JACQUELINE MI went into the uhaul location in person booked a uhaul. Later that day I had to change my request for an earlier pickup after hours. The employee did call me back three times as he was trying to navigate this change. He was very friendly but needed support from the manager. I arrived to pick up my uhaul after hours only to be told my reservation couldn't support this. I called and spoke with a support person who was able to correct it stating that I actually didn't even have a reservation or a truck. He apologized and then said that $50 would be charged to my credit card for the inconvenience. I questioned this and he said no it's not a credit no it's not a refund and then said he wasn't sure how to explain it more clearly. Although friendly and did create the reservation I am still not sure what is being applied to my credit card. The Bluewater location needs to support its employees more to ensure they understand how to complete reservations. The support line needs new wording on what is being applied to my credit card?

Sara PThe only issue was when I removed the autopay when we decided to terminate the lease , I was charged for the next month and a late fee . however it was reversed right away but because it took the payment off of my card a payment for another bill went thru and then it was returned as NSF and I was charged a NSF fee.

JOSEPH WThe radio was broken in the truck. A small but HUGELY annoying issue. Fix the radio! I asked for a discount but the attendant said no. The radio was not mentioned when I drove away. I found it when I turned it on, or tried to turn it on, a few minutes down the road.

The counter staff was helpful with our pick up and informative on the km allowances. We were in and out with no issues and quickly on the road. We will definitely use the truck rental service next time we are in Halifax.

Renting the storage unit was made into a complicated situation that has us renting a larger unit that we reserved in the first place (bait and switch). Then our unit was closed out on us without our authorization after we paid the month in advance. It seems to be a sneaky way to make a buck at the expense of the customer, while the staff just say "nothing we can do here about it". Shady business practices in my opinion.

The staff allow other people to park on thatched lines which limit access to the only door. People should be made to move. I was so frustrated that I quit my lease and will use another company. If the staff watched via camera they could tell when someone is parked there illegally. One single garage door is not enough for a building that size. I can't wait 3 hours for someone to move. Love the unit but it soured my whole experience

When we arrived, we were told that size was not available and had no choice but to take the next bigger size. We were not offered this at the same price as the one we reserved, instead, we were offered one month free. However, we were already entitled to one month free because we also rented a van. We feel like we were pushed into a larger unit on purpose. If the unit we reserved was not available, the management had plenty of time to call and inform us ahead of time so that we could have made an informed decision.

Troy R | Premières impressionsI was moving out of province and had reserved a storage unit off your website for my move, when I went to pay for my unit you were sold out of that sized unit. So reserving a unit was useless. I will admit the manager did an excellent job and offered me a slightly bigger unit at a discount to correct the situation. Unfortunately about 2 months later the discount was removed saying it was because the unit price had been increased by the company. The 2 more times in my year with you the price for my unit increased. So in the first year my monthly payment went from $120 to over $200. This is why I choose to remove my stuff from storage and go somewhere else. I do not blame the manager or team at this location, but I was not at all satisfied on how this ended.

I was given easy instructions how to access the storage unit and was provided an access code and storage locker number. The next day I realized that the appliances we ordered will not arrive for a few months, so at this time the storage unit was not needed. I contacted the Bluewater Road location and spoke with Nancy, she was amazing and understanding and gave me a refund right away! Great customer service!!!!

You are not allowed to block the door & we had to move our uhaul truck several times for people in the parking spaces behind the truck, to get out. There should be a laneway around the back of the building. Also, you cannot hold the elevator open & you're not allowed to leave the bay door open unattended, so for 2 people moving, it's not easy. I would not use this location again, going up & down to the second floor was not convenient at all.

One area of concern was when we came on-site to get some items out of our storage unit and stopped by the office before we went to our unit. We were advised that there was a note on our file that we had locked our door improperly and you could actually open the door a couple feet. This was discovered by staff while making their rounds. Nothing was taken from our unit but why wouldn't we have been advised by a phone call or email that there was an issue with how our unit was locked. This would have been the proper way to handle this discovery. this is why you only received an average rating.

When we got there after driving from out of province we started to unload. We brought some of our stuff to the third floor to find a lock on the unit assigned to myself. There was a miscommunication and this unit wasn't actually free. There were no units of the same dimensions available. I was offered a smaller unit (not big enough), a unit with different dimensions (which wouldn't work because of my furniture sizes) or a bigger unit for roughly $45 extra a month. Not knowing how long I need my stuff in storage for, but knowing it's at least a few months this could add up to be quite costly for someone trying to start life over. I was disappointed when the resolution for something completely out of my control would be to spend more money. I was explained this is all of Uhauls reservation policy, which I still don't quite understand. The ladies working were professional and tried to be helpful but overall was still a frustrating experience. If needing to book a unit again in the future or needing to reccomend a spot to someone I would first suggest looking elsewhere to a place that has a better reservation system. I was offered a discount but depending on how long I will require my stuff to be stored I will still be spending more money then initially budgeted for something I wasn't aware could happen.

However, when we got there, was told our units were not available and we weren't even in the reservation system. We were offered a shoe closet as a constellation to move our entire home into. The manager had a very "oh well" attitude, and told us units were given on a first come first served basis. She said if someone came in for a unit, they got it, regardless if you had a reservation or not. What's the point of taking reservations? Imagine if you had come a distance with all your belonging and furniture and were told your storage was given away? Don't bother with this place unless you want to roll the dice on having a space to store your belongings! The only positive reviews this place has ever gotten was when it was privately owned!!!

If you hold the door open after it starts to beep you can be held responsible for maintenance charges to fix the elevator. So just be aware of that. It's a secure, heated, clean facility. I would use the Bluewater Rd location again if needed.

Hours are good although I don't think there should be an extra charge for 24/hr access as uhaul is a large company and it's not running at extra cost. The moving carts are very convenient. One thing I did not expect was the area inside to put items we no longer want. This is an amazing idea. We actually found an exersaucer in good condition which was perfect because we weren't able to bring ours in our move. Our access code to get into the building didn't work and my husband accidentally pressed someone else's code when double checking the numbers, and we were allowed into the building with this error. I do think this should be looked at for security purposes because anyone can go to the keypad and type in any 4 numbers... if they happen to be someone's pin the door will unlock so there's almost no point to having it locked.
