I needed a trailer wiring installed in two cars, a 2019 Nissan Rogue and a 2020 Chevy Bolt. A gentleman named Clayton did both installations. He was a very personable and professional. I was also quite impressed with the opinions that his fellow employees had about his work. It should also be noted that everyone I spoke to there was friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions that I had. I would highly recommend this Uhaul shop for any work. They go that extra mile.

The gas tank was not full when picked up and we were told to fill up the similar level of gasoline when return. We di fill up the very similar levels of gasoline in Ellicott City (40 West Carroll Fuel) as picked up at U-Haul in Mechanicsburg location. However, U-Haul still charged us $6,95 for 2 gallons. This is very ridicules and unfair. Our $6,95 should be waived.

Get the original reservation correct. I couldn't contact the branch by phone and got corporate customer service prior to pickup. The ONLY assistance was a phone number for central scheduling. WAY too much time expended and I still didn't get the 4x8 I wanted. My reservation was for a motorcycle trailer. I received no paper copy of the reservation I made in person. Maria had to jump through hoops to adjust billing and contract and I appreciate that. Too much time was wasted by me and Uhaul personnel due to a careless reservation in Mechanicsburg. She's a great manager who spent inordinate time correcting a careless reservation. Maria in PA and Eliza in NY are the ONLY 2 Uhaul people who helped me. First time in 40 years I had a foul up at Uhaul. Corporate people I dealt with by phone provided NO help. But for these 2 fine, competent ladies, I'd be buying my own trailer.

My experience was quite satisfactory. I came in early morning without reservation, rented a 4x9 utility trailer.The agent was very nice. I thought I'd be back by 7PM, actually earlier before closing but when cutting it close, my wife called for me. Upon arrival at 6:55pm, the agent walked up to my truck and disengaged the trailer in no time at all, and emailed my receipt. All with a smile and he was very pleasant.

The staff was very friendly and helpful - not their fault but I needed a motorcycle hauler (with the front wheel chok) and what I thought I ordered online - was told during pickup that those were not for out of state moves where the return would be elsewhere. I had to make my own chok and everything worked fine.

The staff and management were just great. They were well-informed and knowledgeable as well as personable, friendly and went over the top to be extra helpful. The process of checking in is so efficient as easy-peasy. Same at the drop off point in Canada. After I arrived onsite, two staff came out of the office to help me disconnect without asking. They too were very helpful. An all-around good experience at U-Haul. U have got my support!

Fix your gas surcharge formula. I only went 19 miles, but I put 4,5 gallons of gas in the tank to get it back to 1/4 full, this would be about 4 MPG when this truck should get at least 12 mpg on the route I took. I drive easy and look ahead, I do not race from light to light as most do. I drove on mostly flat streets with small slopes if any. I made sure I was not in "tow/haul" mode when empty too. We had one room of furniture from a bedroom, bed, bureau, etc. and the mileage I went 2 gallons of gas should have been enough. But I put 4,5 gallons in to avoid a surcharge. So I paid an extra $7 just to be safe. The procedure should be to Fill the truck up back at your facility and charge a reasonable price per gallon. $7 isn't a whole lot but when added to the total bill it makes a difference. Not pleased with this.

The reserved trailer's lights did not work. The store provided a larger trailer at the same price and this worked to our advantage. However, it also took much longer (over an hour) for us to get off their lot and get started packing. The equipment should have been tested prior to our arrival.

First trailer was not as described. Second trailer was not maintained. Also be careful about policies they have, but do not tell you. An employee in the yard told me about the cleaning fees if oil or gas is spilled and it smells in the enclosed trailers. None of this will be explained. This company is all about upselling and nickle and diming you. Use another service or a friends equipment. I'm waiting for my money to be returned.

It's unfortunate this only allows "yes/no" answers. The experience was not that black and white. Storage access hours were great in theory; but there were multiple times there was a glitch on U-Haul's end that prevented me from having access during access hours. If the glitch happened during non-business hours (which it often did), I ended up not having access at all. At one point, I was locked out of my storage unit for two weeks due to a glitch on U-Haul's end, which greatly interfered as it happened when I was in the last leg of moving, and caused costly delays, both in terms of time and stress. Communication wasn't always great. Staff was usually helpful and friendly, but that wasn't something I could count on. There were also seriously long waits to get help from staff in the office. I learned to plan an hour or more in my schedule even for the simplest of questions. The place was clean. There was no evidence of mice on any of my belongings, even though they had been in storage for 14 months, which I was very excited about.

I held a storage unit at U-haul for seven years! I could access the unit whenever I wanted and their service desk clerks were always polite and helpful.

My family just moved to Mechanicsburg and had never been to the facility before. The text message I received contained the gate code and unit number…and nothing more. Thankfully I arrived when the office was attended and the UHaul person was able to assist me. Otherwise I would have struggled to find the unit. On property, there are 4 buildings….none of them are marked on the outside as to which units (1-XX) are contained within. Had no one been there, I would have had to walk through each building to find my unit. Please update the automated message to indicate which units are in which building. Second, if the agent would not have been there, I would not have know to use the "UHaul App" to return the trailer after hours. That would be useful information to send in a text to customers the day of drop off/return. Thank you for your time and consideration. Regards, Nick

The staff was friendly, but I have a concern about the hidden fees. For instance, we were required to buy specific types of locks from them for $10, and 24-hour access was an additional $10, which I believe should have been disclosed upfront. Lastly, there were no larger units available, so we had to purchase two units at full price without any discount.

Great location, clean and well-lit plus a benefit to be at a location with the U-Haul store (for various packing materials) and the ability to rent a truck to facilitate several moves. All of the personnel we encountered during the time we had a storage unit were professional, friendly and helpful.

The staff was pretty chill except one lady she was always defensive and talked at you. It really got on my nerves and even went so far as to lie about the policy as it relates to auto pay. Nerve racking, I really hate a lying tongue.

I was told that my storage would be free since I was coming from Carlisle. When I reserved my storage unit, I was told it was almost $200. I paid it because it was already too late. I was given information from a Carlisle branch that was not true.

Would be nice to have other later hours or a way to check out of the storage unit in the app. When the woman called me about checking out, I explained that I would have done it in person but they weren't open when I left, and my work hours overlap their open hours so I wasn't able. She didn't care, and counseled me on the correct procedure to check out. I'll rent a garage from methany up the road before I come back to U-Haul in mechanicsburg. Not filthy, but certainly not clean. Passed an old mattress and entertainment center that was outside C building for nearly a week. No security cameras.

Maria and her staff are awesome. They treated me well and took care of me while I am going through a rough time in my life. You can tell Maria leads her team well and they all have a drive for excellence in their jobs. I would recommend this location to anyone moving and storing.

Upon arriving my storage unit is supposed to be a drive up outside. It turned out to be one of the units that looks like it was delivered on a flatbed preassembled. First thing was that it is on a raised platform which prevents me from just rolling anything in ( garage like ) had to go back home to get a ramp. 2nd thing was it looked smaller than 10 x10 ,measured and its not quite 10 x9 also there is a second rollup door on the back with a lock on it not sure who has the key for that. It was clean . Checked and they did not have any other units available.

I have never rented a storage unit before, so i was pleasantly surprised at the ease of the process. The team at U-Haul politely guided me through and made sure it was all completed in a timely manner. I was actually surprised at how easy they made it. I would definitely use them again.

I had previously called when thinking about closing my storage unit down. The gentleman I spoke with said that U-Haul would pro-rate the remaining time for the month. So if I closed it early, I would get money back. However, when I went to check out, this did not happen and I was told it was not possible. I felt swindled. I will not recommend this location to anyone else.

Maria, the site manager in Mechanicsburg was awesome. One of her employees seemed a bit annoyed when I simply asked what time the actual storage area was accessible to. He may have been off the clock but I feel that it was a very simple question with a simple answer that could've been answered without an eyeroll or sarcasm. I feel that even off the clock he represents U-Haul (especially while walking out of the office IN UNIFORM) and puts off a bad vibe when interacting with customers this way. Overall I am still quite satisfied with the rest of the staff's performance and my interactions with them. And, as previously mentioned, Maria was very friendly and a joy to talk to.

Although the circumstances were unfortunate (house fire), our rental experience was excellent! The rental office staff were sympathetic and very helpful. The greatest moving experience I have ever had and the employees were by far the most helpful. The process was smooth, everyone was very kind, the main building as well as the storage buildings were very clean and I definitely would recommend this location rather than any other location I have been to.

My only problem was that I sent 2 emails asking when my storage unit had to be emptied by so I would not get charged for the next month and no one ever answered me, so had to call which you are on hold for awhile

Sometimes the gate would be left open at night and I felt that wasn't the most secure. I also think the price is a little high for the storage space we rented but overall staff was friendly and helpful.

Overall good experience. Was disappointed to learn on check out that I would not receive a credit for unused days. I checked out of my facility mid cycle. The unit is now available to be re-rented. This was not readily disclosed (though I concede it may have been in the fine print).

My unit was clean, the building was clean. Over the few months I rented there they had several property maintenance and improvements done (new roof shingles put on, exterior painting ). Staff was always friendly. If I need any of these services again, I will definitely choose this location.

Maria and her staff at U-Haul Mechanicsburg were flooded with business on Friday, Jan. 15, when I returned at one-way from Fort Wayne, Indiana. They were literally running from customer to customer who needed service and assistance, and did so professionally and courteously. Not only was I returning a 10-foot truck and a obstinate tow dolly (the straps were a bit stubborn), we also need a storage unit assigned in the midst of the chaos. They took care of everything beautifully. I will highly recommend this location to anyone.

I took advantage of the free 1 month storage unit offer, after renting a U-Haul trailer. The unit was like brand new and cleaner than many homes. The staff that I encountered in all my transactions were friendly, helpful, and we'll cross trained. This is a well run facility..

In the process of settling 2 estates, we had a need to shift some furniture to temporary locations because of closing dates on the real estate. The free 1 month storage offered along with a trailer rental was just what we needed. The 10x10, easy access unit was extremely clean and fit our needs perfectly. Just another reason to buy and deal with local businesses. U-haul was there for us in a big way. Your service to the community is much appreciated.

After a poor experience actually experiences (plural) with Grove City, PA Uhaul as well the Call Center Uhaul (lengthy wait times, computer reservation problems, multiple rental pickup locations, wrong fuel level, long wait times, and even damaged and wrong rental equipment) ... It was refreshing to speak with Seth in Mechanicsburg and to work with Hannah and Clayton on check-in and returns at Mechanicsburg... Incredible and knowledgeable staff in Mechanicsburg - I would highly recommend them as a group in Mechanicsburg, but would and will think very long and hard about using Uhaul in general, in other words, I'm going to shop around, even if it costs me a little more to avoid the Corporate Uhaul experience...very little confidence that they can make our.move convenient...

My only complaint is that the time left on the contract is not prorated/refunded. One of my units had two days left and the other was paid through the 15th. They should not be rented twice.
