This Uhaul location provided a Cargo Van to me for my move. The van was infested with all types of roaches that invaded most of my belongings during the move. I lost so much of my property due to this issue because there was no way to get rid of all of the bugs due to the tremendous volume of roaches living in that van. Not only did I lose property because of this but I was not even provided with the correct equipment I reserved for my move which made it even more difficult to load and unload the moving van. It is truly disgusting that Uhaul does not exterminate issues like this! Especially when it comes to shared moving vehicles that people are paying to use, cleanliness should be a priority! I highly discourage anyone from renting from this location unless you don't mind bringing a bunch of nasty bugs into your new home...

SHELBY DProper maintenance on your equipment will go a long way for better reviews. After the initial truck rental was changed to a new truck due to the AC not working, the other truck assigned to the contract had issues with the AC throughout the 800+ plus miles I drove from Florida to Tennessee, not to mention it was 90+ that day. The young lady at the drop off location was going to see if something could be done, but nothing was done. I believe compensation would have gone a long way to keep me as a customer of your business. The people at your locations were great, but you really need to keep your equipment/trucks in working order. Thank you, Chris

They just put there lock on it and never communicated anything with me. All the employees there seem to be friends working together and that's not good for business.

Ben VAlthough everything was clean, we had a serious issue with the truck upon putting it in reverse. After the gears switched into reverse the truck suddenly began to slow in gear and would not move. I was in the middle of the road and had to turn it off, restart it, put it in drive gear and try to reverse again. This also was challenging to a neighbor who was delayed in getting to the hospital via ambulance because the truck was blocking the street and the ambulance driver had to wait for me to be able to move. The employee who checked the truck in told me that I would not be charged and named what he thought had mechanically happened. However, I see there was no adjustment to my bill. I gave the above average rating because everything else was good.
KImberly RI dropped the trailer off the same day, Monday 6/16, and I was told I would be emailed a receipt. I called the location everyday, and could never get through. I called customer service everyday, and was told I would get the receipt that day. Finally, on Thursday, I received my receipt, and I was charged two additional days and insurance totaling $60. I called the Palm Bay location, and was put on hold for 45 minutes before they transferred me without notice to another number. I still have no resolution. I'm owed $60

It rained heavily and the lot had 3-4 inch puddles that soaked my shoes as I waded thru the lot and tried to find the truck. The truck I was assigned wasnt even there. After 20 minutes of searching, I came back and they gave me a new key and said "I know this truc is definitely in the low lane". Why didnt we just start with that instead of sending me on a fool's errand and getting my shoes soaked??? They wasted time and I had an extremely unpleasant experience soaked to my ankle in rainwater. 2) The mileage allowance and policy was not made clear - a worker should explicitly point out and tell me the allowed miles and what the charge would have been if it was exceeded. I was simply told to refill gas, there was nothing mentioned about mileage. The whopping extra charge of $94 the next day was ludicrous. I will never, ever be using Uhaul again. Ive used most companies (Penske, Budget, locals) and have NEVER had such abysmal treatment and lack of communication. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but Uhaul.
DAN NService at this location was VERY slow yesterday. Also, one of the middle-aged male employees spoke very inappropriately of another employee. Then when I returned the trailer, he was very rude/disrespectful to me.

ROBERTO RYou guys are WAY behind PODS. In particular, your reservation management is atrocious. I had three reservations either automatically cancelled or cancelled by incompetent employees. After literally hours of trying to get my cancelled reservation back, I went to the U-Haul center in Palm Bay yesterday and was treated horribly. When, the day prior, I had requested the box to be ready at 11:00 am yesterday, nothing was done when we arrived closer to noon. After numerous requests to the staff, they finally brought out our UBoxes after 1 1/2 hours of waiting. Of course, I then got yet another notice of pending cancellation of my shipment reservation (from FL to VT). My wife and I gave up. We pulled the few things we had been loading in the UBox and cancelled (ourselves this time) our shipping reservation because we cannot trust your organization to handle a shipping reservation. All-in-all, a terrible experience. I'll be sure to let my friends know to avoid this service.

GEORGE SThe Palm Bay location is absolutely the worst run business I've ever had the displeasure to work with. One person working computers, have to wait 45 minutes even when I was early for my appointment. 25 other employees walking around smoking cigarettes and not acknowledging customers. I had to ask 3 times after I had my paperwork for someone to help point me to the trailer I rented. Then the trailer lights didn't work. But before we figured that out I "needed to go back inside to buy and adaptor" which was another 30 minute wait in the line. I asked for blankets, none provided had to go back and get them. I could continue but I think my point has been made.
RYAN AI was told that my rate would be adjusted to one day if I only used it for one day when I made my reservation I reserved a 10' van and got a 15' van which exceeded my needs. The uhaul app was not explained nor did I realize that when I turned it in to use the app I needed pics of the odometer etc so I did an after hours drop off. The drop off location did not inform me of the 20 fee for tjem to do the check in ..they just rold me dont worry we will take care of it quicker than If I use the app. When I picked up the rental the owner general manager elesia helped a customer who wasnt in line solely because he had 1 item while the rest of us had already been waiting. I made comment about it and said that was just plain wrong and when it was my turn she had attitude and was a bit rude towards me.

I booked a pick up truck around 30 days before the reservation date at the UHaul site at 438 Harbor City Blvd in Melbourne FL. Unfortunately when I came to pick up the truck the previous renter had not returned it. The customer service representative was kind enough to see if this UHaul location in Palm Bay had a pickup truck which they did and transferred the reservation to this location in Palm Bay. Unfortunately, we needed the truck more hours than available. Elesia Owens suggested I rent a small box truck which I did. She was extremely professional also. Will definitely recommend this location to people.

Instead of adjusting my total of $112 to $105 returning $7 I got charged almost 5 times as much as I should have. Fortunately, I used a credit card and it didn't hurt me financially. Still to be seen if I'm refunded almost $400 timely. I have had lots of trouble in the past and I thought things were better but when I saw the mischarges on my account, I remembered why I don't use Uhaul anymore. I wouldn't have but it was an emergency. Services need to be updated and employees or processes need to be updated.

Second, once the car was loaded on the dolly, I noticed that the driver's lens on the trailer was missing and the mud flap was damaged and pointed that to the attendant, Dean.. He said that it would be quicker to put a new lens in rather than changed the trailer. thirdly, the 2nd day on the road we had a blow out on the passenger's side tire on the trailer. WE waited 90 minutes on the side of the hyway I-95 before a tech came. He repaired the tire. after he left, I noticed that the lens on the same side was gone and that the lens on the driver's side was not working. so we drove 4 hours to a Walmart in Nashville, NC and called for roadside assistance. A Uhaul contractor names Russ came and did a great job repairing both lens. I would appreciate a refund for this dolly. I have been doing this for 7 years, twice a year.

A staff member tried to help but did not succeed so we could only access during office hours the last month. We moved into a new residence and went to get some necessities from our unit to stay out first night but the only door out code worked at was the restroom. We had to go to Walmart and spend almost 200 to get us through our first night at our new home all because U-Haul failed to maintain their system. The employee told us we would receive a credit back for our inconvenience but that never happened. Since our code did not work even with him trying, he gave us his code to access to remove our belongings. Even that code was was an embarrassment to U-Haul if they knew about it. I do not recommend as this facility and its employees are below par and on top of it, they do not keep their word to their customers

LUIS C | Expérience généraleI called the 833 UHAUL Number to establish a reservation number for a truck and for a storage unit to speed things up when I got to the UHAUL center. When I arrived I advised the attendent that I was there to rent a truck and to the attendant could not find my reservations, even though I had both numbers available for her. She searched and searched through several pages and after about 10 Mins she left and brought the manager back. The manager quickly walked her through the process. She started my process to complete the vehicle rental agreement, then got confused again and had to go and get the manager again. It was obvious that she was not aware of many sections of the form. I was getting frustrated as I arrived early so that I could meet my son to pick up articles for storage. The attendant kept looking at her phone during the transactions and was not familiar with all procedures on the form. When she finally finished the form about 25 mins later she wished me a good day. I reminded her that I also needed a storage unit. Then the process started over to obtain a storage unit. She searched for approximately 8 minutes and once again left to go get the manager. The manager came back and once again showed her where to find the available storage units. She eventually figured out the paperwork for a storage unit. Approximately 45 Mins after arrival, I finally completed the paperwork. She gave me a map of where the storage unit was and copies of my truck paperwork. As My sons house was only 3 mins away, we loaded the truck in about an hour and returned to search for the storage unit. The map was not clear as to exactly where the storage unit was located, so we drove around for a few mins trying to find the unit. Eventually we chased down a worker in the parking lot and he showed us the way to the unit. We unloaded the truck, and came back to the store to buy a lock. Locked up the storage unit and I went to turn in the truck, but of course each attendant was busy with other customers, so I waited approximately 10 mins, then decided to go and pull the truck directly in front of the entrance. At that time a young man came to me and said, are you returning and I said yes please, and he took my keys and told me thank you and advised me that he would send results of his inspection to my email. Calling the 833 UHAUL was easy and simple and the woman gave me reservation numbers for the truck and for the storage unit. Which I took to the store. The process at the store was frustrating and time consuming. I knew that the process would take about 15 to 20 mins to sign for the paperwork etc. But I did not expect to be there for almost an hour. The vehicle was clean and the storage unit was clean. The experience was good other than the attendant not being knowledgeable of the processes which frustrated me. The manager was outstanding and resolved every issue. I will use UHAUL again should I need the service, but hopefully a more speedier process. I would recommend that the attendant put cell phone away when a customer is standing in front of her. Not very professional to keep checking cell phone during process.

Also my unit was in the back and I'd often have to organize my stuff, if you were not in the aisle moving around, the lights would turn off and it gets really dark inside the unit. Why would I be able to make a reservation and the facility not prepare and deliver? I am not happy with this outcome.

They had no record of my transaction from previous day. Including unit I was in at that time. 3rd- i asked the lady to check unit before giving it to me. She proceeded to give me unit that was locked from previous day. It showed her that paperwork and her coworker told her that I was correct. 4th- she went back and checked it to make sure this time it was correct. 1 moved everything from smaller unit to the new bigger unit. 5th- went back to double check everything and tell them unit was changed over. Turned out code was same as someone else and causing problems. Changed code with 4th agent. End result- I was given 1 free month for all of my troubles. That is appreciated. Part this could have been prevented by a simple walk back to check Unit. I even heard the supervisor ask why they didn't check on 1st day. I am not sure what happened with 2nd transaction.

Desiree C | Expérience généraleI first reserved a storage unit via the Uhaul website at BP Moving & Storage in Palm Bay, Florida. I received confirmation of my reservation via email - all good. I then called BP about a week in advance to ask if everything was set. The person replied that it was set - great! Then, as I'm moving from Minnesota and stopping late at night, I reviewed my emails and noticed my storage unit had been cancelled! WHAT ????#$(@* I am in route with a 20 foot Uhaul truck and my unit is now cancelled? I called the 1-800 UHAUL number and explained the situation. They told me I had rented from an "affiliate" location and there was nothing they could do about that cancellation (remember, I had reserved ON the UHAUL WEBSITE). So, now I"m really annoyed, but the nice customer service person found me another unit in Palm Bay at a different facility. Great. Then, as I'm moving in a day later, I get a call from BP Moving and Storage, all upset and angry that I am not showing up at their location! Now, I'm not very happy about this at all and told the gentleman that the problem is with the UHaul organization or whomever generated the email cancelling my unit! He was not very nice. I can understand why he is upset. Buyer beware - I'd recommend staying away from the affiliate locations because the communication is very poor. Go with a Uhaul corporate location if at all possible.

Video stated to break the seal, open the door and the lock would be inside the unit. There was no lock, and I was told at the store that I would have to purchase their lock. I also had a hard time locating the unit. The layout is confusing, and it is quite a way from the entrance. It is unclear how and when to enter the access codes, especially on a Sunday when it was considered after hours. I finally figured it out. The unit was clean when I arrived, and after the initial frustrations all went well with the move in.

I had to settle for a 10x10. After completing paper work I went to my new unit only to find it already had a lock on it and a notice saying it had been evicted due to non payment. I then went back and told the associate, who then had me walk back to the unit to confirm what I had told her. Upon arriving back at the check out area I was told they didn't have another unit and they could offer me a 10x8. I reluctantly accepted it because I needed a unit and wanted one at this location since it was convient for me. After going to the unit I realized I would not be able to fit all of my furniture in such a small unit. I notice another unit with a green tag that looked to be the size of a 10x10. So upon arriving back at the check out for a 3rd time I asked for a refund and acquired about the other unit I had seen. The women looked it up and found out that even though the last person had cleared all of thier things out uhal never actually took them off of the unit. That's why it wasn't showing as available. She called the previous customer to confirm they had closed out account and after talking to th gentleman told me they could offer me that unit. I had to settle for a smaller unit but was happy that I had one. After arriving home and a couple hours later I received a call from uhal. I was told that when they kept switching the units from a 10x10 to a 10x8 then again to a 10x10 they refunded me back to much money and needed me to return to the location to give them back the 31 dollars they had given me. I understand mistakes happen but after all I had been through to then ask me to drive back to the location was unprofessional. It was there mess up and they should have owned up to it and taken the loss. Especially after making me wait in line 4 times and having to basically tell them about a storage unit that was available. If it wasn't for the fact that the facility is well lit clean and convientet and the fact that I am also getting a truck from this location, I would have had no issue getting my money back and going to another storage company. Staff was friendly but my experience was unprofessional and disorganized. A big let down from a company I have used many times before.

We know this is not the case and we were given the impression the employees simply didn't want to help. Whenever we attempted to speak to an employee, the average wait time ranged from 45 mins to over an hour. There was no sense of customer service or support from this team.
Aaron G | Expérience généraleThe facility is clean, staff is friendly, but we had issues from the beginning. We reserved climate controlled storage rooms, when we arrived there were none to be had. So we ended up having to get regular storage lockers. After about 7 months of storage it was time to move into our home. We found that there was a small leak in one of our units that allowed small amounts of water in. But it was enough to rust our refrigerator, mold our newer couches, mold our large(expensive) Turkish rugs, and also cause damage to our cherrywood dresser(also not cheap), and also molded our dining room chairs (total of 6 that will need reupholstered or replaced). We haven't gotten into the rest of the boxes yet, but expect to find more damage. My suggestion would be get insurance and photos prior to moving your stuff in and after…

That original facility did not even have that size unit on site and all of their largest units were full. They sent me 20 minutes south to Palm Bay (Location 2) where I received a 10x10 unit - a smaller unit than I originally reserved. After packing it as tight as possible and not being able to fit everything, I drove back up north to a family member's home to store the rest of my items. As originally planned, I then went to the conveniently located U-Haul facility around the corner (Location 3) where the drop off my 26' truck was originally scheduled only to learn that the Palm Bay facility (now 25 min back in the other direction) had changed my truck's drop off location without telling. They claimed the truck for their location. (Location 3) Service tech told me they couldn't fit my truck to begin with in their parking lot and to go to the Sarno/Apollo drop off location. (Location 4) I then spent 25 minutes on the phone with customer service to have my drop off location changed without incurring a hefty penalty for "Wrong Drop-Off Location". They were helpful and changed my drop off to Location 4. Upon return of my truck I was chagred $40 for gas because i was a fraction of a needle's width lower than my required fill up level BECAUSE UHAUL HAD ME DRIVING ALL AROUND BREVARD COUNTY. I was just going to forget about it and move on but I've been bombarded with emails every other day asking for a review. Here it is. You burned my entire day and cost me who knows how much money. 0/10 U-Haul has not been cooperative in resolving any disputes prior to me leaving this feedback. I will be loading up another 26' truck and taking it to Jacksonville in 3 weeks. Generous monetary compensation is absolutely deserved after what they put me through but I'm not getting my hopes up.
