I had an extremely frustrating experience with this U-Haul location. I reserved a truck online, but the store released it to someone who was not listed as an authorized driver on my reservation. I was not present during the pickup, never provided my driver's license at pickup, and never signed a rental agreement. That same night, I contacted U-Haul and filed a police report regarding the situation. The police instructed me to visit the U-Haul location, which I did. While explaining the incident to staff, they asked for my driver's license and had me scan a QR code. The following day, the truck was returned by the other individual to the wrong location, and I was charged additional fees. When I requested a refund, the store refused, claiming my driver's license was on file. What concerns me most is that I only provided my license AFTER the truck had already been picked up, when I visited the store to report the incident. I questioned why my license was associated with the rental when I wasn't the person who picked up the truck, but the store did not resolve my concerns. I am extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled. I expected U-Haul to properly verify authorized drivers before releasing a vehicle and to take my complaint seriously. Instead, I was left dealing with police involvement, unexpected charges, and an unresolved dispute. I would not recommend this U-Haul location based on my experience.
