I was very clear when making my reservation that I needed a one-way rental from Houston to McAllen with drop-off in McAllen, and I was quoted a specific price. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told the quote was a mistake and the actual price was almost double. Because of the timing of my move, I had no realistic option but to accept it. During the drive to McAllen, the A/C stopped working in the extreme Texas heat. I called U-Haul to report it and request some type of compensation, but I was told nothing could be done. To make matters worse, the McAllen drop-off location had no clear instructions or secure place to leave the key. After contacting U-Haul, we ultimately had to leave the key under the seat and the truck unlocked. The situation was documented by phone. Between the misleading price, defective A/C, lack of customer support, and unacceptable drop-off process, this was the worst U-Haul experience we have ever had. I believe a partial refund or appropriate compensation is absolutely warranted, and I expect U-Haul to review the reservation and recorded calls.

Comment U-Haul Fonctionnement des avisThe location was fine and the customer service was really good. The problem was your app It timed out several times during check in so I called the contact number and the guy took care of it. They are stuck with whatever trucks they get so the door lock on the drivers door with the half ass repair after someone tried to steal it isn't their issue. Check in was another mess mostly because of the app but partly because fuel level had been miss recorded or fuel had been stolen. I took photos of before and after and only drove 12 miles total I put a gallon of gas in and the fuel level was back to where it was when I got the truck and you app STILL wanted to charge me an extra 30 dollars for gas. Which prompted a second call to the operator who again handled everything very well but, if you app worked better I most likely wouldn't have had to call them twice on a Sunday.
